The thing to remember here is that Targett isn’t going to get many games between now and the end of this the season, unless Digne gets injured. His value therefore isn’t going to increase whilst he’s on the bench.

In addition, the recent comment from Gerrard about fighting for your place was telling. Perhaps he now has a desire to go and doesn’t want to fight for a place? Some players want to feel secure in their position.

I very much doubt we’ll give encouragement for a bid but can certainly see one incoming. We should definitely be looking towards £25m plus at this point, especially if it’s Newcastle.

I remember them Alex and used to have them as well. I forgot about them completely until I saw your post. They were called ‘Ketchips’.  We’d have them usually with a Bernard Matthews Chicken Escalope or a Dalepak rib steak thing.

Usually with just a pin/needle. With slight movement and testing, you can usually get them right for you in a few seconds

Honestly don’t see how we can turn down £35-£40m if he’s flatly refusing to even discuss a new contract? We’re a business and we’d be making a decent profit on someone that hardly sets the Premier League alight with his displays.

I don’t dislike Dougie at all and a good player but it’s good money and he is replaceable.

So what if you’ve been doing it for 2 years? We all have and to be honest, this could be a way of life now.

Deaths stable? What does this even mean? An acceptable level of people dying? Be nice if we can have the death rate at zero don’t you think?

Have you that thought an old vulnerable person may have no choice but to use their local supermarket to get their shopping and if people like you pass something on and cause them to be hospitalised and potentially die, does that not bother you?

For the sake of wearing a mask for probably 10 or 15 minutes, it’s hardly an inconvenience.

I can see a move happening before this window shuts next week. It just feels inevitable.

I’ve never really thought that much of him but never really watched him closely when he’s been playing for Arsenal. Gerrard clearly rates him as good enough for the squad, so that’s good enough for me.

I’m really pleased we’re progressing this side of the club. It certainly adds something, whether it be to our overall brand, attracting new fans and improving that winning mentality throughout the club.

Clearly the women’s game is growing at quite a fast rate, with increasing TV exposure, we’d be mad to ignore it. It’s refreshing and I’ve enjoyed watching them this season.

Would just be great if we can make that next step and get in amongst the top six clubs next season.

They’re a really fed up bunch aren’t they? Listening to some of the fans, they play dire football, have an ageing squad and look unlikely to catch the automatic spots.

Could be wrong here but didn’t Roy Keane get annoyed with some of our players when he was with us because they didn’t apply themselves correctly?  Gabby being one of them?

Real rotten apples in the club around this time and it’s cost us millions. Thank goodness we haven’t ended up like Derby, Sunderland etc.

I think we’ll get one or two more over the line before end of business Monday.  Just a feeling that a DM and a CB incoming, it’s just who?

No doubt we have plan A, a Plan B and possibly a Plan C. Interesting few days ahead and at least something to focus on without a game this weekend.

Huge game for the ladies this afternoon against Leicester. We really don’t want to lose this one. 

Haven’t heard much from Carla Ward recently, so hopefully she’s busy working on some deals and getting the confidence up with the current group.
