  1. The bunch being touted by the media, you dont know who Randy did consider/contact/interview, Houllier is Randys choice and may well be the best of a good bunch. Well good/bad is a matter of opinion. The managers that we didn't have to pay compensation too were the only ones we considered it seems. So he was the best of a bad bunch. The good managers don't stay out of the managers job that long. Again it seems, it seems because of what the media has said, funny how its only the ones out of work that the media do know of. Do you honestly think that not one manager in work wasnt spoken to or interviewed. Maybe Jol was contacted and Randy wasnt keen or maybe it was the other way around. At the end of the day you dont know. What I do know is that Randy will definately want to make the right decision for this club because whether he supports the club or not like we do its his money he''ll be pissing up the wall.

  3. Why? It has nothing to do with sport (until he is announced). I don't think they did the yellow bar when they signed Ben Shepherd for his programme. Do you not think that even if he hasnt told Sky he is off to Villa they may put 2 and 2 together and report it that 'Sky sources understand that Phil Thompson is to become Houlliers number 2." I think this qualifies as sports related. Wish they had of put Ben Shepherds signing on there so I wouldnt of had such a shock at seeing the little twonk on there for the Spurs City game. I just hope they announce Lorraine Kelly when she joins Soccer Saturday.
  4. If pinocchio has left sky surely it is in skys interets to report the story as an exclusive on their amazing yellow bar of information.
  5. Dont know why Diouf is classed as a bad signing, fair enough he didnt set the world on fire there but he's a decent player despite being a total idiot
  6. How would he know any different. Link for Townsend's page? The one I saw is rattling on about Adrian Chiles and Southgate's dress sense. Not sure its the real one  still he seems to think its not Houllier
  7. How would he know any different. Dont know, probably doesnt, was just pointing it out hence just saying.
  8. Not doubting the ITK's on here but...... ........if you follow that twitter link to Andy Townsends page he is convinced its not Houllier, just saying.
  9. if we get him, we would not have hired above ourselves IMO. Given his C.V. I can't imagine him being a contender for any club above our level. We're about as good as he could do. I have been talking to the French guy in work who follows french football and he's been saying Houillier is rubbish. I think he was shortlisted for the sha job actually before Mcleish. He was most definietly strongly linked to that role IIRCI knew there was some link Found it Goal.com and again no quotes and pure rumour. ANd on a previous post you put "Something that concerns me is that Houllier is not generally regarded as a man manager yet, according to some, we only have players of a specific nature at the club" According to some and generally regarded!!!! Says who? Again more rumour and sweeping statements why not get concerned when its fact and not fiction.
  10. i'd say they are all pissing themselfs laughing, from what i have heard from other fans they think we are a joke. probably because they know we are slagging him off already
  11. Its only sky sources, sky sources understood that Bob Bradley would be our next manager, sky sources understood that Carlton Cole was off to Liverpool last week. I'll wait till a quote comes out direct from Villa Park before I get excited about collecting my 120 quid and feeling a touch underwhelmed by the appointment.
  12. Bit like the spin on here, and all Krulak has done is voice an opinion much like we all do. Its ironic that the reaction he is getting is similar to that which is levelled at him of spitting his dummy out.
  13. Fascinating how theories, rumours and conjecture get people so worked up and push them to look at the possible negatives instead of any possible positives.
  14. Just to put a different spin on things if Houllier is not first choice for Randy you can guarentee he would not of told Houllier this in order to keep him interested. In the mean time whilst Randy trys to secure his first choice Houllier does not want the silence from Villa park seem like he has not been chosen so a story leaks that his family need convincing. This then covers his back if he does not get the job, he can say it wasnt right for his family and save face. All these papers are saying its Houllier are only doing so through rumour Houllier getting the job is far from a forgone conclusion IMO.
  15. Exactly history of the club and in this case ages ago, like someone else said do you still not buy anything German Also youre not the guy who wrote to trading standards complaining after one of the babe cast birds flashed some clunge at 4am are you? Curbishly played for us in the early 80's.... This got a bit tough for the club and Curbs **** us off, citing the clubs position for his departure. Wasn't willing to stay on and contribute to getting the club out of the shit. He becomes boss and a better offer comes along or things are getting difficult........ Well he's shat on us before and he'll shat on us again. rocket polisher - not Villa manager material! Thanks for the history lesson any chance of a synopsis on the battle of hastings whilst youre in full flow. I dont want him as manager but not because of what he did whilst he was an average football player in the 80's but because he's an average football manager now. Anyway mute point it aint gonna happen.

  17. I agree with this and If Moyes is not coming then I think its got to be the only other option. Soccernet reporting hes been interviewed. Surely weve got to believe hes a better appoitment than Curbs, Houllier etc....? It's quite simple: Sven is a brilliant football manager with incredible contacts, brilliant knowledge of the game in this country, Europe and the world, with great English and a point to prove. We'd be mad to pass him up considering he's not in work. City got thumped 8-1 by Boro under him, he almost destroyed Mexico and was cat as well for Ivory Coast Drew with Portugal, lost to Brazil and beat Korea with Drogbas arm in a sling, i'd say he didnt do too bad certainly not 'cat'
  18. The bit at the end of that article has no substance the reporter has just been reading this website seen the conspiracy theories and thought thats a good one i'll beef it up a bit. Complete bollox. the article that choffer posted
  19. I think Spurs wage to income ratio is lower than ours
  20. Mat Kendrick knows less about the Villa and its goings on than Tom (this is a neat club) Hanks
  21. I have a mate that works in the media side of Liverpool and he said that towards the end of his tenure Houllier became obsessed with the media and internet forums to the extent where he would ignore first team duties. So i'm guessing after a month of reading Villatalk it may bring on another heart attack. He did however come out with the best excuse ever. When asked about Robbie Fowler sniffing the touchline in response to chants from Everton fans claiming he took drugs, Houllier explained that new signing Rigobert Song had brought a goal celebration from Metz with him where they would pretend to eat the grass like cows
  22. We don't know that Wiggy. Even if he were a back up plan, theres a distinct chance we could end up having to use that back up plan. And since rumour had it that the board was rather keen on MacDonald until he pissed his chances (we'd hope...) up the wall with the ineptitude at Newcastle and home to Rapid, now that he has seemingly finally decided he'd not mind the job (the time it's taken him to decide this should set off warning lights like Blackpool Pleasure Beach that he isn't the man for the job, even if the performances and impression he gives off hadn't already gave you a good idea) I wouldn't be surprised to see his stock rise again. The board at the moment seems to have '£' in front of their eyes, and specifically don't want to see them leave their vision, and what MacDonald most definitely is, is cheap. I would not be surprised to see him appointed. It'd be, in my view, the most awful appointment we could say, that would say rather a lot about Aston Villa in 2010, and thats no mean feat since just about every other manager we're likely to get I also think is bollocks in some way or another. Do you not see the irony in your post you start of by saying 'we dont know that' as to prove your point then base the rest of your post on conjecture. I find it bizarre how people always want to look deeper into everything or believe that there is something sneaky going on. KM has known all along we would interview in this period so he has taken the chance to think about his own position and sure enough when the league break comes he makes his mind up. Why not just believe the facts the board are not stupid to release a statement saying PL experience is of high importance to then appoint someone with next to none. Everything takes time in business and football is no different, if you wanted to appoint an ops manager you wouldnt do it within days, it often takes weeks or even months. Why not have faith in a guy who has so far done little if nothing wrong and knows more about business and how a football club is run than any of us.
