  1. As a representative of the Black Country, may I just say that Albion can go and suck a bag of dicks. Thanks.
  2. Retrospective red cards based on video evidence would solve this problem overnight. No contact, disproportionate reaction to negligible contact? Sit in the stands for a game, buddy.
  3. Must admit after the whole ESL thing I have become even more dissillusioned with football, and I thought the games yesterday did nothing but reinforce that. The Arsenal Everton game. There is a blatant dive by Ceballos, for which the ref gives a penalty. Wrong decision. var check. Still a penalty. Wrong decision. Penalty ruled out for an offside that is technically correct by a micrometer, but which cannot be discerned by the naked eye even with slow motion. Then the two West Ham red cards which bafflingly the refs and var both get wrong. One because it is never a red card, and the other because after establishing a rule with the decision making they then ignore it for an identical incident. All in all Super League or not, I did not see much honest competition yesterday. At this stage talking about football is more fun and interesting than watching it.
  4. Baggies have trouble scoring (Chelsea aside) but have shored up defensively. We’ve got a decent defence but struggle for creativity. If I had £500 i’d put it all on a nil nil draw.
  5. I think that about lower league football teams here. And streaming services. I want to watch football, I just dont want to and can't afford to get gouged. How much is it to attend an American sporting event? I genuinely have no idea, but I would imagine there are some reasonably cheap seats for scrubbers like me.
  6. But you tend not to get long term domination of teams. A different team wins the superbowl pretty much every year (go Chiefs btw). Imagine the Premier league that competitive.
  7. Understood. I meant more along the lines of the culture of a professional league. The MLS in its current format is what, 25 years old?
  8. The NFL is an interesting comparison actually, because in part they control the competitiveness of their respective leagues through the draft system. I'm not saying it could or should be applied to football, but whilst football has a top down approach based on the acquisition of the best players through transfers, American sports are ironically more regulated than elsewhere when it comes to finance (they also have salary caps etc.). Is the draft system an artificial way of ensuring competitiveness? Probably. Is it any more artificial than the bias caused by having very rich owners in football? Not so sure.
  9. You mean kicky egg ball?
  10. A start I suppose. Just hope this does not represent the entirety of the 'sanctions'.
  11. Brumerican is gonna kill ya!
  12. Isn't America pretty much the only developed nation without a footballing culture?
  13. Only one way to find out...............FIIIIIGGGGGHHHHHTTTTTT
  14. They are the ones with the massive **** debts!!! It's incredible hypocrisy.
  15. Why was the Barca coach not up in arms about Barca's involvement in the ESL? The extra games in the CL are an appeasement to bloody Perez. I'm so **** angry.
  16. Barca Coach on ESL Ronald Koeman banging on about UEFA being money driven and that they are not listening to teams about how many games are being played. What the hell are these people on about. 'we're playing too many games'. What, so it's the league that is the problem. Have to play all of the little scummy clubs so that the players are too tired to play a new 18+ game league in Europe. Just **** the **** off you **** ****.
  17. Does anyone doubt that this has been the reason these plans have been executed now? They assumed less PR damage with no fans around. They thought wrong.
  18. Steve Bruce would be wishing like hell that Newcastle were part of the break away.
