Kisses on both cheeks for Emery after the game, throat-slitting gestures at the opposition goalie, the prayer clasp at the ref when he's hacked somebody down, and the "I don't care" chin flick when he gets booked.

This has been completely debunked.. They make about as much noise as your fridge and sit outside the home.

More noise from the Oil and Gas lobby orchestrating bad press.

    They do make noise.

I worked for a mechanical/electrical engineering consultancy and they have a division for acoustics.

More so for larger scale than "houses", but there's a lot of science into placing them and stopping/reducing the noise AND vibration.

If you have a block of flats for example, the compressors on a hot day will be whirring away.

My wife has moved into new offices and she can hear the ASHPs from the 2nd floor, with closed windows and has called it "noisy" in the past.

The placement in large buildings without space outside and limited space on the roof is a problem in which lots of engineering has to be done to stop the noise and vibrating.

    Unfortunately, it's not nonsense.

  3. You can see that he can do amazing things our current squad don't have in their locker.  With more familiarity of his play and the teams play, hopefully we'll see more meaningful interactions.

But, he's got a lot of talent and good awareness.  He looks like an intelligent footballer.

I think he'll be great come January when he's been with us a few months and settled down into living in the UK.

Looking forward to seeing some belters!

  4. My son (an Under 9s player), played the under 10s girls Villa team last night.

They (the Villa girls) absolutely battered them.  My lad played in goal and actually played well and did well to keep it down to about 8-0.  But even accounting for the extra years coaching at an elite academy, sheesh, they were incredible for a bunch of 9/10 year olds.

Some of the passages of play, to draw in tackles then quickly switch play.  The confidence on the ball to take it under pressure and shield the ball easily.  The decision making was 95% correct and much faster than our lads' team.

It was like they were playing a different sport to be honest.  Was really impressed.

The local council have paid for that not the owners:

"The plans to build a new Kop stand at the famous home of Wrexham AFC the Racecourse Ground has been given a huge boost. Wrexham council have pledged a whopping £25 million through a Welsh Government grant towards the plans."

They've already broken transfer records and are building a league one/championship club already. Teams (see Argyle) have been promoted from L2 to Championship in a few years having a transfer record under £1m.

They will make money off the ownership.

Wrexham taking the Real Madrid public cash route to finance.

Good if you can get it

I'd love to be able to work from home. I've just done 12 hours in the office. Would be so much easier to have the ability to work from home...although i would probably end up working 16 hours a day then!

    How times change, eh? :)

still work from home, albeit between 2009 when this thread was made and now, I have had a few years in a couple of jobs, working in an office.  But I'd say 75% of my career to date has been working from home.  Not bad considering I started working in 2007.

(don't worry, I was just looking through my profile from the conversation about accidental profile clicks and had no idea you could see all of your history from the big 2006 change over, where I think we lost a lot of posts!) :)

Is it me or does there seem to have been a big drop off in Islamic terrorism in the west?  Is it a coincidence that it's happened just as the Saudis have decided to spend a fortune on western footballers?

    It does seem that way.

Maybe if we ever have a huge problem with them in the future, we could catapult footballers into the Burj Khalifa.

We should strike off Pep's treble, was being carried by Haaland after all.

We all know trebles don't count unless all goals are shared equally between 11 players who were born within 2.75 miles of their hometown clubs!!!!!!!!

I'm surprised by this verdict (now that I've finally dared to open the spoiler tag)

Apart from agreeing with the pacing in places and slightly agree about some of the new characters, I disagree with most of it.

It's basically the first game, but better (imo). And the payoff from the pacing is worth it. The story is incredible

I've just re-read it and sadly I still think I agree with my assessment of it.

2018 GoW, I couldn't wait to play it again after a couple of months.

I've still not platted this because I just can't be bothered with the dull (forced) bits.

The GAMEPLAY is great, it's more of 2018, with extra's - I love that, but the game world on some puzzles/finding things is a bit too big and aimless, which can get frustrating when you just want to collect something for the trophies.

I'll have to give it another go and concentrate on the story, I loved Skoll and Hati pieces, anything with Kratos is great.

The war on Asguard should DEFINITELY been bigger and better.  I was so gutted about Jormungandr being a background prop, fighting an "on the loop" blue dot, meant to be representing Thor - I STILL feel short changed about that.  The devs should have done something much better, like they did in the first game.  It's criminally rushed.  Which I suppose shows how much I wanted more.

And again, anything that isn't really centred around Kratos can be "Marvel Sassy", which is just irritating in a mythical world with Gods and Giants.  I'd like a game to have humour, but the humour from Batman in the 60s, post-fight "humphing at the chump" type gag.  It's tiresome.  The first game was better for this.  There's too much 2022 vernacular in it.

Anyhow, I noticed you were playing it and it did give me the itch, but for now I'd rather play Theme Hospital or whatever it's called

  10. But any group of friends who continue to do stupid voices/impressions in earshot of people not within that group are nerds.

I have different friend groups who like different things, like Ace Ventura, Vic and Bob, Bottom, Red Dwarf, Monty Python, Only Fools, Dads Army, Little Britain etc, but you'd very rarely hear any of the parts said out loud if there were people who weren't involved in that group.
