  1. lol, my memory is awful for that period, i was 14/15 then now i am 32, awful season i attended all but 1 away game with some mates and had a season ticket, that season attended places like The Dell on a freezing cold Monday night Sky game where we lost to Le Tissiers brilliance again, again if i remember correctly lol. also same season where we had only 15k something against Southampton at home and lost again to Le Tissiers double. It was snowed in, but cos the team was awful the attendance was just as bad, must have been lowest i have known it since 80's.

Far, far worse season than this one, or the DOL or Taylor seasons.

  2. Does anyone think the team will bother doing a lap of honour after the Liverpool game, in what must go down as Aston Villa's worst ever season in premier league history (also taking into account the off the field shambles)?

Worst premiership season was when we had to win at Norwich away, last game of the season (i was there at Carrow Road) think it was 94/95 season, we won 1-0 in the end. That was such a rubbish season, and was worse than this because everyone thought def we would go down.

  3. Oh, if only we bought him 2 years ago we could all be upset right about now after getting knocked out of the CL in the Quarters to Real Madrid.

    This!

What we've been missing for years.

It's just a shame that our usually good defence has gone shit this year.

7 goals, 2 wrongly ruled out.

Ash has taken 2 penalties in that time, scored one and missed one.

Bent could have been on 11 by now!

why everyone saying he has had two ruled out, it has been 3 :)

Fulham (home) he was half yard offside similar to Newcastle one

    Newcastle (home)

    West Ham (Away)

Can't remember the fulham one haha

Bent had earlier had a goal disallowed in a marginal but correct decision after a Downing shot was kept out by Schwarzer.

A decent start to the match saw the first real chance end up in the back of the net from Darren Bent on 5 minutes but the poacher was judged, correctly, to be half a yard offside

  5. Its got to be surely

Darren Bent, Darren Ben, Darren Darren Bent... Gets the Ball scores a goal (or bound to score) Darren Darren Bent!!

we started it off with Gary Shaw back in the 80s and Newcastle nicked it for Andy Cole in around 1993!!

Whats everyone think, its easy to sing and Darren will love it im sure

  6. Didnt have a very good 1st season for Bolton but second top scorer in prem so far this season, out of contract in June (so could be a bargain in Jan??) is he worth looking at?

    Whats everyone think?

BOLTON will hold last-ditch talks with Johan Elmander tomorrow about a new deal.

Chairman Phil Gartside said: "He is out of contract in the summer and we have to try to re-sign him.

"I have a meeting with his agent on Wednesday just to do that."

The Swedish forward, 29, is currently the second-top scorer in the Premier League with eight goals.

But the £8.2million record signing's current deal expires in the summer and Wanderers fear he could leave in January or walk away for nothing in June.

Elmander is currently on around £35,000 a week - and will have to take a PAY CUT to stay with the cash-strapped Trotters, even though his rating has soared dramatically.

Gartside added: "I was asked a question about the January window and said, 'It's always a good time to sell players because if a Champions League team comes in, they always pay top bill'.

"I didn't say we were selling. We're not in a position where we have to sell.

"If someone comes in with a great offer, we will consider it.

"We run a business and, if someone comes in with an offer attractive to us, we'll trade."

irmingham defender Liam Ridgewell is hoping to be the next uncapped player to catch the eye of England boss Fabio Capello.

Capello handed first caps to Andy Carroll, Jay Bothroyd and Jordan Henderson in Wednesday's Wembley clash with France, and since England's World Cup failure has also blooded Kevin Davies, Kieran Gibbs, Bobby Zamora, Gary Cahill and Jack Wilshere at international level.

Ridgewell won England Under-21 honours earlier in his career and, at the age of 26, is confident he can still be worth a chance at senior level. He says the same of Birmingham team-mates Roger Johnson and Scott Dann.

"You see people given a go at the England stage and we're the same, the three of us," Ridgewell said.

    :lol::lol::lol:

= what he really means is, the 3 of them are **** crap.

  8. Real Madrid have a history of making fantastic players look poor.

    Pretty similar to yourselves then.

Really? Care to list some examples of fantastic players that Spurs have made look poor?

Giovanni Dos Santos and Adel Taarabet (Spring to mind fantastic prospects before Spurds got them, altho Taarabet is showing his potential now at QPR) That Sandro they will prob ruin as well! Kyle Walker & Kyle Naughton so far are very highly rated but stock has fallen at Spurs, wouldn't be suprised if they moved on, similar to that Chris Gunter guy at Forest!!

  9. Surely that is not really him? Got his email address on there as well, he can't be that thick surely?

yes it's deffo him mate, confirmed with my two girl mates Nikki and Danielle!! It's the one when he has short hair where he is raising his right hand by his left shoulder!

Load of geordies having a go at him on his wall, he really is proper thick as i thought!

  10. star

ALEXANDER Hleb is on a collision course with Birmingham boss Alex McLeish after claiming his move to the Midlands was a step backwards.

And the Belarus international risked angering his new manager even further by attacking his long-ball approach.

Hleb completed a shock loan move to St Andrew’s from Barcelona just before the summer transfer window slammed shut.

His capture was heralded as a major coup by McLeish, given the midfielder’s proven European pedigree.

But the former Arsenal star could have some explaining to do when he returns from international duty after admitting life in Birmingham has come as a massive culture shock.

Hleb, who is preparing for Euro 2012 qualifiers against Luxembourg and Albania, said: “I’m not quite happy with the level of the team, but such things do happen. It’s just life.

“I did tell the papers that Birmingham is not exactly Barcelona or Arsenal.

In the recent Birmingham games there was a lot of struggle – they were constantly hoofing the long ball forward.” The 29-year-old excelled under Arsene Wenger’s attractive style, with his displays enhancing his reputation as one of the continent’s most potent attacking midfielders, bagging him a dream move to the Nou Camp.

But despite the Catalans’ offensive approach, Hleb flopped in Spain and boss Pep Guardiola sent him out on loan to Stuttgart – the club where he first made his name – at the back end of last season.

But Hleb admits he longs to play sexy football again, saying: “Naturally I miss the combinational and creative football by Arsenal and Barca, but that was my own choice.

“The Birmingham style is not the kind of game I dreamed about.

“It is good that now I have a lot of time on the pitch, but I want to play football of a different kind.”

However, Hleb insists he is 100 per cent committed to the St Andrew’s cause and insists he is willing to drop his footballing principles to make a go of it.

He said: “Birmingham is more a team of fighters, but now I need to get used to their manner of playing.

“But as a whole everything suits me now – a good manager and fine relations with my team-mates.”

  11. Fat Barry's View

JAMES MILNER has been told to square up to Martin O’Neill if he wants to join Manchester City.

City midfielder Gareth Barry believes confronting the Aston Villa boss is the only way Milner will be granted his wish to move to Eastlands.

Barry was in the same situation two years ago when his dream move to Liverpool was scuppered by O’Neill’s refusal to drop his asking price.

Villa are holding out for £30m, but City won’t go above £24m.

“My advice to him would be to try to get the situation sorted as quickly as possible,” said Barry.

“Mentally it is tough to deal with and it does mess with your brain. It was probably the longest summer of my life, not knowing what was happening. I am sure the quicker James knows the situation – whether he is going to come to us or stay at Villa – it will be better for him.

“My advice is for him to speak to Martin O’Neill and then he can concentrate on what needs to be done for the season.

“It is hard to say that Martin or Villa are doing anything wrong. They have put a valuation on James and they are within their rights to turn offers down.

“He is in the same spot as I was, but that is football. As soon as I had made my mind up it was not going to happen, and committed to playing for Villa, my mind stopped wandering elsewhere.”

Milner missed Saturday’s 3-1 win over Feyenoord at the weekend with a back injury.
