Some real histrionics on here, get a grip for god sake.
For 85 minutes we bossed the game, the bit that was missing was the finishing and Emery has already said he is looking for a “specific type of player” I would guess it’s someone who can actually take his man on!
Dendoncker making the mother of all cock ups turned the game and momentum and we know Olsen cannot save shots.
It isn’t our worst performance ever, Peterborough played us off the park and there have been others, however this shows Emery where his clean out starts.

This is what can happen when you disrespect cups and don't field your strongest team.
We will never win another trophy if we don't take cups seriously.
The team should have been enough to beat Stevenage, it was suicidal stupidity that cost us

Was too lightweight and decision making was as poor, still very much a work in progress despite the goal (simple tap in)

Love the fact that all of the links, whether second division in Spain or Korean u19 player of the year have trekkers, pace and more importantly energy.
No more Ollie Watkins single man press, we will be busy on and off the ball and for me that will be most important thing!

What a crap article, in short, Villa want to buy him but Villa recognise it’s not best use of available budget.
is that it, contradicts their own headline

Spurs think they are bigger than they are, soulless ground with crap fans who only sing when they are winning.
proper Manager, give him the keys, he knows what we need and where to get it. Awesome structure and tactics.
Only downside was McGinn’s hammy and Dougie’s knee. Hoping nothing serious

Get a grip, Emery showing there is no favouritism and picking on form/readiness.
Not Gerrards playing the same team even when they are too ball bagged to tie their own laces- 1

Are we still looking at the “icing on the cake” type players rather than the main ingredients?
Personally think we are still missing a midfielder and a centre half before we start polishing our forward line

The high line was realkt scary yesterday. If nunez wasnt such a donkey we really could have been thumped. Think thats something we need to work on vs spurs. Kane and son will have a absolute field day of we defend like that
Kane won’t, he has no pace

Linked to Terem Moffi, can't say I know anything about him. Has 10 in 14 for Lorient this season.
He's only 6ft 2 thou so no were near tall enough.
Looks Bentekesque in the you tube vids!

Zaha says hi.
Went back to a club that still played exactly the same style as when he left. We do not now, we have a more rounded team and more options and I wouldn’t trade that to bring Jack back

Sorry to say, but if a CL club comes in for him, he'll be off. As would any other player.
Let’s see, I am not worried, he has done the bench at a CL club, think he likes being our Nr 1

I am not sold on Grealish coming back, it’s never the same second time round and he made his choice.
Also, I think getting Emery in will see a totally different strategy where, quite rightly, it’s not about the romanticism of any given individual, it’s is about the pragmatism of the team and it’s constituent parts.
I want to see pace, athleticism and work ethic across the team, that will win more games than an individual
-
I am going to stick my head above the parapet and say Emi loves Villa and has no reason or desire to leave.
Think he is here till he retires

At this point in time, don’t care how we win as long as we do. However, we have a shape, we have tactics that are tailored to opposition and situation, like a proper Manager brings. For that, we have something to look forward to, still a project, but one that’s taking shape nicely

Olsen cost us that game to be honest, poor with the ball at his feet, zero command of his area, defence destabilised by his uncertainty.
Beyond that, we went to Old Trafford with a game plan and could and maybe should have come away with something. I cannot believe the 180 of some people on here in 4 days, we knew there was work to do, but no amount of training pitch prep accounts for keeping like that

Is Olsen now glued to his line. What a nightmare of a game, basically cost us the result

Olsen is shocking, I hate Fernandes, that is all.

I see this as very similar to Ten Haag at United, the players there held the power, there were some major egos and some huge salaries but ultimately a fractious dressing room and an environment not conducive to success.
Emery for me has the keys to the club like Ten Haag has, and should be 100% backed by the hierarchy. Cutler and Danks likely moving on suggests this is the case, but he should be backed with respect to how he deals with Villas egos and cliques and who he brings in and who leaves as he rebuilds.
The Leeds/Liverpool game showed how small the margins are in the premier league. If I was Emery I would be looking at the youngsters like Archer & Iregoubum because of the energy and application they would bring, plus it sends a message to the current first team on what it takes to start under his Aston Villa.

Over to you @TRO
Wasn’t he part of that? Or is he throwing his boss under the bus?
Maybe he means they didn’t manage to truck through 38 players before he left.
Personally, I saw little to suggest that he could get a tune out of Villa and reckon QPR won’t come up either

Rodgers has just lost his mojo at Leicester, he's pissed they have also turned the taps off and couldn't bring in any new players he wanted
He needs a new project, I personally think he would do well here and certainly has more experience than our recent trainees.
The bit that nags at me re Rogers is the money he spent the year before, bringing in some quality emerging players, apart for Daka, most have seen few minutes.
Apart from that, the guy builds teams that play decent attacking football.

The key element of the next manager will be to rebuild the fractured relationship Deano built between team, fans and owners. You only have to look at the comments on here to see that is broken.
I like the sound of the Amorin as he sounds like Ten Haag, has an expectation and way of playing, won’t compromise on that and will rebuild the culture, confidence and direction. He also has shown the ability to tap into the youth, again, part of the clubs strategy.
I think he sounds ideal, if not him, another “force of nature” type person who will drag the club by its bootstraps back to where it needs to be

Apart from Leeds on Friday, risk of injuries, existing niggles and knocks and the fact again, that we put out a team of internationals that rightly for 85 minutes nullified a league 2 side.
Again, Deondoncker committed a cardinal sin of not checking his shoulder 5 yards outside his own box!
