  1. Tottenham have been properly linked with Alan Smith and a 7M move. Jesus, a target man instead of Darren Bent? Not a third poacher G. Spurs? Surely not you promised with a 95% margin...
  2. How come West Ham fans thinks they are bigger than us? We are getting constant beat over at that KUMB forum, I think they must be the most f'cked up fans in the country. As far as I know they have never won the league. They have a smaller stadium, they have been in the Championship for ages and a shitty squad. Funny
  3. Perhaps Appiah isn't as sensational as some of you guys think. 3M to Celtic, not 30M to Man U or Chelsea is it.
  4. Is he good enough thoug? Joey Barton certainly is the better player right now, NRC has more potential (probably)
  5. Jenas/Zokora is hardly the best midfield pair in the Premiership and to be honest I wouldn't touch one of them if it meant we had to give up Petrov/Barry. Give it one season and the mediocre Jenas, who has no real asset to his game really, and NRC would kick him out of the team. So would Scott Parker do at once if he had opted to join Spurs, something he wasn't interested in. Too bad for the Londoners as it would enhance the quality of your first-XI
  6. So we think agents are just talking crap in the press? Well, what if he bigged up Villa instead of Newcastle, don't think any of you would say the same thing Fred from Lyon? We are not going to sign the player who left Carew on the bench in the first place, he would never recommend him or even talk nice about him. It would be like Mido (wherever he is going) bigging up Berbatov to his new coach. To be frank, it won't be long before the first moaners come out and claim Carew scores too little. Look to the Norwegian national team where Carew is the out and out star and first striker. He hasn't even scored the most under our new coach, it's Frode Johnson who is very average and plays in the Japanese league Joey Barton vs. Nigel Reo-Coker One of them beats people up and has a brother who is also a murderer. Nice. Guess those genes aren't exactly what MON wants. The other leaves his club because they aren't big enough and he rates himself a Arsenal-player and his agent clearly is a big ass. His footballing skills are very unproven in my opinion. In first season h was good but not better than our own Steven Davis. He caught attention from Arse/ManU (supposedly) and rumors say there was a bid in for him and that's why he wants to leave. The next season he was terrible. He was worse than Davis as well. He performed well at the end of the season but I don't really know about this. Perhaps MON has other targets in his head and we won't sign any of them?
  7. Ah the man Liverpool fans claim are as good as Gary Neville and the most under-rated player in the Premiership. I differ to that claim though, but he is one very good right back and would suit us perfectly.
  8. Once again a new person pops up during the transfer window and tells us about new signings and how they are in the know. Sorry dude, what you are saying here is exactly what I could have told you, and I am not in the know.
  9. Wonderful news if true. He would be too much of a risk in my eyes, a 50/50 liability. Also not worth the money. He is an 8M man, nothing more than that.
  10. Agree with Tricella. The players we have already should be squad players, buying shitty players such as Bramble would be bad news. I wouldn't go near the TEAMtalk site as people would laugh at us and my friends would taunt me for promising them huge signings in the summer. Bramble... well, this can't be true. It really just can't be true
  11. Paul Robinson is the definition of a Championship player
  12. So we are talking about signing Paul Robinson and Titus Bramble now? Those are actually ten times worse than the worst signing under Ellis! I think I have to leave this place for a while, this thread has become somewhat addictive and we still haven't been properly linked with a single player. Sure there is the Antunes-thing (which isn't confirmed) and the obvious Bellamy link which has been there since last season but other than that it's just piss poor journalists putting two and two together.
  13. Phillip Lahm plays for Bayern München non? For a German that is not about Europe and Champions League, it's almost a religion isn't it
  14. What if we signed both Bellamy and Barton. Two weeks later Barton is tired of Bellamy in training and wacks him down with a two-footed tackle. Uno dos tres and you got yourself a mess
  15. Telling people to bugger off with the idea of Dica because they haven't seen him is more than OK, but asking players about Darren Bent is a bit funny. I have seen him many times this season and what interests me the most is his vision, his awareness and his real striking ability. He could have scored 6 goals for all I care, for me a striker needs to have a certain gene, shown to perfection by van Nistelrooy really. It's when you unleash Darren Bent in a better club you will see him bang in goals. For me it's a very odd that Arsenal haven't gone on to sign him. Imagine Bent/Henry, certainly a better player than this Adebayor (who will leave for two months in January)
  16. Asking how many times he has seen Darren Bent this season is a pretty lame comeback dude, if he wanted to he could have turned on his TV and watched all the games if he wanted to.... and watched the 14 or so goals he scored in a season where he spent the middle section out with an injury, as well as adjusting to the games when he came back from it. His tally now in two seasons is something like 33 goals, for Charlton? Gabby is a wonderful player I am very much looking forward to seeing develop, but Darren Bent oozes class and he is a perfect striker for a club such as ours. Gives you pace and lethal finishing, gives you 15-20 league goals. Easy.
  17. Remember the Spanish league isn't even finished so the Silly Season haven't really begun. Saying that, other teams seem to have understood that the earlier you start the earlier you get the pieces to your puzzle. I don't care about West Ham as they are always going to be a wrecked club but our goal this season is to at least surpass clubs like Everton, Portsmouth and Newcastle.
  18. How could we have Parker have been 'taken easily'? All the reports say that he is only leaving because he wants to move back to London. Rephrasing; easily good enough for our team. Would kick McCann out of the place
  19. Oh I remember the day we signed David Ginola, my favorite signing by far! I think our first target should be Darren Bent and I would be pissed off if MON didn't even want him. He is English, a proven goalscorer and born awesome. 14M? Easily worth it
  20. I am flabbergasted that, after the goings on in January we are still looking at other clubs early deals, comparing them to ours at this stage (when the window isn't open) and panicking. Hardly. I am just voicing my concerns that a rival club are signing a very good player we could have taken easily. If Spurs sign Darren Bent I would say the same thing (only with 10 times more feeling in it of course). For the central midfield position I have listed a few targets myself and Parker was high on the list. People are saying Newcastle have been looking at Joey Barton to take over for Parker but you don't have to be a rocket scientist knowing that it's not Barton but Kevin Nolan who is going to go there. The TEAMtalk reporter obviously isn't a rocket scientist.
  21. West Ham are very close for a deal on Scott Parker, forking off late interest from Tottenham. They just got themselves a very good midfielder. Problem is that if we don't sign better players than they do we are just going to be one in the fold next season, we could end up 6th but might as well end up 11th again. I see United have signed Anderson and Nani in deals worth 30M all together. I am not saying we could have grabbed them I just think we should go abroad and take some risks on "the best players" in some of the leagues. Look at United whom have bought Evra and Vidic in recent years, players we could have easily gotten if we had just been there before them. I do not know anything about MON's style of transfers, but my feeling is that he likes it British and no fuzz players. That is dangerous because you might end up with nothing; but we can only wait and see.
  22. As far as I know we haven't been linked with Parker, Davies or Bent for that matter, and I don't really think the Sneijder thing is something that exists. It came from here didn't it? Went on to icBrum and it continued before it hit the walls of TribalFootball, which is a very fine site indeed. Zat Night? What on earth would he do here? Michael Tonge? He isn't even good enough for our reserves! Paul Scharner? He is like Ridgewell, and he is our 4th choice so no thank you
  23. Just a slight correction: I didn't say the deal was 95% done, I said that I was 95% certain he'll sign for Spurs (this remains my view) - there's a difference between the two things. However, we are now around 2 weeks further on from my earlier posting, and I believe there's a good chance that a deal may be publicly announced sometime before the end of next week. Here's hoping that my moving to correct a slight misrepresentation of what I previously said won't attract any great degree of hostility . God you're one little annoying dude! How can you be so stupid that you log into a Villa forum, which is rather weird on it's own, and claim your precious little club are 95% certain to sign a player you aren't even strongly linked with? I haven't seen a single article on SkySports, TEAMtalk, SoccerNet or any of the reliable sites. Have you been visiting Harry the Hotspur.com or something? Please tell us why you are 95% certain of him signing, because if it's just wishful thinking you should have kept it to yourself or written it on a Tottenham forum. I am not saying he won't end up there, well since I am writing this I am going to end up with eggs on my face. You don't have to be a genius to understand that Spurs are one of the clubs in the fold, but so are 10 other clubs in my opinion.
  24. Scott Parker is a player I think would have done very well at Villa Park, I would take him over Nigel Reo-Coker (I think....) Imagining Barry - Petrov - Parker - Young and it looks very good. West Ham showing that action speaks louder than words I guess
  25. This Ray Ranson guy isn't a very good business man now is he? Poor guy, should spend it somewhere else
