  1. I am thrilled we don't have to see WBA in the Premiership again. Birmingham is enough in my opinion and I think it's nice that Derby is back in the party. Looking forward to be seeing Giles Barnes, I don't think he'll play for Derby no matter the outcome of the next season
  2. We can only hope, their manager is hopeless and without any form of any tactical (att) knowledge
  3. Yeah because he set the premiership alight last time  I think I read somewhere that Boro wanted him as a replacement for Viduka
  4. I guess we can say that Giles Barnes will not be leaving Derby, and I can pretty much guarantee tee Curtis Davies joining some Premiership team within a month.... same with Diomansy Kamara
  5. I think we are going to sign Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, just a feeling
  6. We have a recent history of getting very late into the transfer market. Late July seems to be the date for our first signing for some reason, let's hope it changes this time around.
  7. Yeah that is such a shame 8) However, what is happening with Darren Bent? No rumors and links, if I was seriously keen to bring him in then I would act quickly.... I reckon we aren't so that's a shame but isn't he a cert for a certain unpopular club on here? Guess not..
  8. Bellamy not so keen on the Villa it seems Bellamy speaks
  9. MON transfers when he was at Celtic, well those worth mentioning..... Chris Sutton - Chelsea - 6M Joos Valgaren - Roda - 3,8M Alan Thompson - AVFC - 2,75M Didier Agathe - Hibs - 50K Neil Lennon - Leicester - 5,75m Rab Douglas - Dundee - 1,5M Bobo Balde - Toulouse - Free Steve Guppy - Leicester - 350K John Harton - Coventry - 6M Magnus Hedman - Coventry - 1,5M Stanislav Varga - Sunderland - Free
  10. Never bought him there, but I think I will now I like the fact that he is tall and has such good technique, a different kind of Rio Ferdinand. I haven't seen him much of course, but from what I have seen he is a great tackler and he knows how to distribute the ball.
  11. I wouldn't mind Kompany either, he looks the business.
  12. If we got a central defender why not Curtis Davies? Big upgrade from Liam Ridgewell and English too.
  13. Riquelme? Forget about it! If he came here he would never give 100% for the team and it would take around 2 months before he'd fall out with either the manager or the players. Of course his level of skill is twice what we have ever had at Villa but it doesn't really matter when he won't use it.
  14. So what did Gordon say about the other clubs then?
  15. Totally agree, I am not defending his decision but sometimes you must wonder why they get picked. It's not like Jol plays Jenas if he has someone better, and likewise for Moyes at Everton. I guess Barry is left out all the time because he doesn't have a best position, he is a somewhat of a potato.
  16. I do understand the banter around players such as Downing and Dyer being England internationals, but people should be careful with the constant criticism of players such as Phil Neville and Jenas. The first one is the captain of a team that were much better than us last season and Jenas is a regular for a team that also has been lots better than us the last couple of seasons.
  17. Dear General 1) Were there any players who turned us down in the January window (whom we have not heard of)? I am thinking about bids for players who have refused to talk to us, but with little or no mention in the media. I guess those sneaky bastards get hold of everything but you never know... 2) I know you are not able to talk about specific players on our list this time, but how does it really work when MON wants to sign this and that player? Does he hand a piece of paper with 1) to 10) with targets and a rating of how much he wants them ? Seriously though, do we have reason to expect bigger things compared to what is mentioned in the transfer thread? Let's say MON wanted to sign a top European striker for 20M, would that be a fee within reach for our club nowadays? The reason I am asking these questions is because we are linked with many players that "every" club around us can afford really. I would also like to mention that every Villa-fan have blind faith in the work going on this summer, we are once again proud without really thinking why we have reason to be proud Thanks for your time.
  18. I would say it is a 75% possibility that we are interested in signing NRC, and a 7,5% chance on Sneijder.
  19. If I could pick a midfielder I would want us to buy Tim Cahill from Everton. He would cost around 12-15M and it well worth it in my opinion. Not only would we buy a great player we would also buy the best player from one of our rivals. He played 9 full games this season before getting injured and scored 5 goals. Before that 16 goals in two seasons, which is very good for a midfielder.
  20. Ferreria shouldn't cost 3p he is shit! He is much better than Bouma so we should be careful who we compare with....
  21. Ferreira wouldn't cost 3M, and he wouldn't cost 12M! I guess 6-7M is a fair assumption
  22. From what I know perhaps the same as McCann, only with better passing and attacking capabilities. A worrier, yet being able to penetrate someones defence unlike Macca who doesn't know how to pass 5 yards in front of him
  23. We are maybe after Taylor, Bellamy, NRC and a players such as Gordon. "Alarming" thing is that these are players everyone we compete with can afford. Newcastle, Man City and Everton etc. It might turn out to be a pick and grab situation, where every player goes to different clubs. I hope we have something special lined up. Darren Bent or Sneijder perhaps?
  24. I also like the fact that he was very much wanted by Arsene Wenger but didn't go there because they couldn't spend the money. Like the situation with Curtis Davies who is a player I would really like to see at Villa Park. If Derby promote instead of WBA I would like us to go for him as soon as possible, a swap with Ridge and some cash? I am not saying everything Arsene says is the truth, I just like the fact that he was very much into NRC last time around. I was very impressed with him in the latter stage of the season when WH earned the spit for next season. This can be related to the fact that every player played their heart out though, but I would much rather have NRC than that weasle Sidwell who is going to flop bigtime over at the Bridge.
  25. I have seen NRC many times but never really paid notice to him. How do you rate him?
