Funnily enough, people seem to know every player in the Premiership.

A team always needs a good striker, I guess Nugent can turn out to be one as there clearly aren't many who plays for England when they are in the Championship. My knowledge of him is very little but I am pretty sure he has great composure in front of goal and knows to handle the ball even though he is big(ish). Koumas is just one of many, as a midfielder I guess he would just be on level with McCann and Leon Osman.

My guess is that MON finds it hard to attract good players and he has to stand in line for players such as NRC, Darren Bent and Nugent. I just hope it doesn't mean we're going to sign Koumas, McShane and other second-rated players..

i agree hes overated in my opinion but how can you say you would be dissapointed if he chose everton over us when we dont even know if we tryed to get him.Kepa blancos agent or him himself came out a couple of weeks ago and said we made an offer for him then o`neill came out and said it was not true so a lot of this is either journalists putting two and two together or agents fishing just because we are "linked" doesnt mean we have actually tryed to sign the player.I dont believe we are after anyone until i see an official quote from someone that we are in talks. Thus using the magic word "if". If MON did everything possible to get him only for Moyes to get the player I would have been disappointed. Luckily, I don't rate Jags that highly so it's a blessing in disguise. But, if he was a target that means he was nr. 1 on MON's list, which again indicates that we will get a worser player than Jags as RB next season..

If he chooses Everton over us I am disappointed that we haven't managed to convince him better but I think we can do much better than him.

Problem is that i dont think Villa would benefit from these players atm. If you take a look at how Wenger built Arsenal towards its prime, you will see that they had a physically strong squad. They had leaders, and good structure and discipline. I think this is what we need to aim for, before we start signing up fancy players from the southern leagues. Then again, fancy wingers cant do much wrong i guess. Oh well blabla. I think it's a bit misleading to use the word fancy wingers/players. Like they do one thing and don't contribute in defense. Some other guy here also use to say that since they can do stepovers that's why I want them. These players aren't just "fancy", they are also great footballers with lots of skills we don't have. Simao will give them at least 3 goals from free kicks every season and numerous assists, Malouda is a very good winger as well.

Unproven on every level except in the Dutch league, you need to be a real goalscorer to be worth more than 10M I think. Remember Dirk Kuyt went for under 10M, I can only think of Ruud van Nistelrooy going out of the Dutch league above 10M. If we signed Huntelaar or Bent I would be creaming my pants, perhaps that would be too much to ask? I read the West Ham forum once every while and it's very good reading. They really think they are a club on level with us, Newcastle and Everton. They are going to sign every player we regard as probably too big for us, I am talking about Richards, Bent, Yaya Toure and players such as van Persie and van der Vaart. They are West Ham, they are going to sign Koumas or Nugent, tops!

I would be extremely disappointed with the signing of Jason Koumas. He showed the last time around that he isn't good enough and he has a history of being a prick. I know he has been voted best player down there, but my god is the level totally different.
