Well lets hope so, in my eyes Benteke staying is as good as a new signing

Imagine the lift it will give going into a new season

Last preseason he looked very average at best. I hope he does better this time around. I have high hopes for Gardner as do many here. I'd really love to see him earn a starting spot this season. He is one of the few large midfielders we have at the club right now. 

Was he injured last pre-season?

Could be, we are making enquiries for similar players into kidding others that we are no longer in for Popov whilst we clear our decks. Last thing we want is to be gazumped at the last moment and pushing up the price of any deal thats on the table?

In 12 months time and another good season behind him, it wont only be Russian money. All parties know this, hence why he will be here for that length of time.

Im pretty sure when it comes to Benteke signing, and the impact it may have on ST sales, then in this case yes.

The club will quite rightly milk it until dry. If no news breaks early next week, then i will be worried.

Why would you let 3 players who u hope will leave, an insight into your tactics, set pieces, ideas for the season. For them to take to other clubs. Also they arent going to be involved in any of these tactics so they would be standing along the line anyway.

I dont think that plays into it. 

Its simply telling them that they are no longer required. Being left out of of pre-season is a massive snub, and it should get their minds focussed on going elsewhere and pronto.

They're all professionals doing their job. Don't particularly see it as a humiliation. It's the nature of the business.

Thing is, all footballers love pre season. If your not involved, then it sends a message.
