  1. Just saw the replay of the goals

    1 - damn lucky deflection

    2 - offside

    3 - great freekick

4 - poor defending - Curtis slipped over and no midfield tracking back

5- Brilliant optimism and great bipartism from a REAl Villa fan who only saw the goals. :)

    :bang:

  2. So ive been away for the last 2 weeks and avoided the whole Milner situation, whats the feeling towards him, hated or liked still? As far as i can see he hasn't said much during the whole thing. And there is no way he is injured, if there offer is £24 mil then snap their hands off!

I think alot of people are gutted but it's probably more unanimously a "bleh", at the moment, as in get the money and move on, both because it seems we have to sell to buy, he wasnt with us long enough, and we've learned from the GB situation. WE JUST WANT IT SORTED ONE WAY OR ANOTHER!. Don't know if he were to stay we could ever accept him the same way though.

  3. We're the only club in the Premier League not to have bought any one yet this summer

Are we? I think you may have been misinformed on that one, there are three clubs who have bought no-one. (Us Blackburn and Blackpool) Spurs have bought one player who won't be featuring this season much if at all and one hell of a lot of dross have moved clubs very few of which we would ever have been interested in. Titus Bramble? and he's one of the better players!

Most of those players are either out of our league or simply not good enough to be in our team

Right Bicks we're in great company of the "havent bought anyone yet" Aren't we, considering how strong our squad already is, being in the company of Blackpool and Blackburn fills me with joy.

  4. Lol. the funniest thing about everyone saying "from relegation fodder to top 6" is. Even DOL used to have us in the top 6, and we used to play better football, and he did this with almost NO money. Eventually we couldnt even pay for cofee, or physiotherapists etc and these managers had to deal with this. yet people talk about MON as if he is some supehero who saved the club from the arch nemesis DOL. If John Gregory or DOL had the resources MON has had we would still be doing better, the real saviour was RANDY LERNER, NOT MON, get off his C*ck. there are other managers out there who could have and would have done a better job for us, yes, admittedley, MOn has made the odd masterstroke in setting us off on the ascendancy, Ashley Young, Delph etc, but I still see him as a very limited manager who can't go much further unless he has a HUGE transfer budget and and spunk at least 30-50 percent of it on shite, pulling off the occassional masterstroke.

  5. Why the **** are rags rating 'how good' a kit is. Can people not make up their own mind?!

We have become a nation who have become used to being told what to think by a daily tabloid fix.

Thankfully the internet is enabling individuals to question, argue and debate. Although too many of us are still ready to take what we read at face value, then repeat it as though it were our own long held opinion.

I think the new kit is a bit flash and tacky by the way, but it's different enough to just about justify marketing yet another kit.

Well i thought it was shit upon looking on it to be honest, no one had to tell me anything.

  6. Analysing the events will not change the facts. I don't feel misled, I'm just angered it's taking so damn long to get sorted. Our entire summer spend is dependent on another club, it's pathetic. I thought we were bigger than this, very disappointing.

I agree and what is more for O'Neill to come out and tell the world this was stupid and self harming.

Best case is we hold on to Milner but we don't improve at all this summer which could easily leave the likes of Ashley Young doubting the ambition of the club and wanting to move himself.

Worst case though Man City take the attitude of 'well they need to sell' so this is our offer take or leave it. It will be on the table to the end of the window its up to you.

Because they may want Milner but they don't need him, if they don't get him they will get someone else or manage with what they have. The pressure is all on us and O'Neill's comments the other day have increased that pressure.

I've always been told what a smart guy O'Neill is but his comments on Milner seem nothing but stupid to me. They do nothing to help Aston Villa and only serve to weaken our position regardless of the out come with Milner.

Why couldn't he simply say something like "There has been interests and we've rejected a bid so he remains a Villa player and part of our plans. Unless the situtation changes we will continue to try and build and strengthen our team and unless Man City meet our valuation James Milner will be a part of that"

Why couldn't have said that? Ultimately the meaning is the same but the message is very very different.

    Spot on.

  7. Just reading this mornings reports, I'm confused now! Is Milner being pushed to make the move because we have to sell to buy?! Or is this all just a smokescreen....grrrr, it's like falling out with a girlfriend, not knowing where you stand, and getting conflicting information from hers, and your friends!

  8. I think we need to look at Arsenals model now. It's quite clear we don't have enough money to rebuff the big spenders, so we need to grow natural talent and build up a profitable club and go from there.

On the basis of Barry and Milner going, I expect Young, Delfouneso or Delph to be sniffed at next season if one of them plays regularly and has a fantastic season.

We will obviously end up selling them, probably for good money and have to start again nurturing new talent.

Which is fine but you cannot keep doing that, it's just unsuatainable if you are to compete at the highest level. You do need to tell some clubs to sod off, even if it runs the risk of the player being sold for less a season later.

Arsenal have done it with Fabregas it seems. OK they sold some pretty key players in the last few years but Fab was the one player they haven't been willing to budge on in terms of letting go for anything short of the ridiculous.

This is what we need to start doing, but we can only do that if the club is at a profitable level. At the moment we are not but I think perhaps after we have this sponsorship deal and hopefully generate big money sales in the next few years, increase and improve ths stadium, we may find ourselves in a better position.

that means when clubs come sniffing we can tell them to sod off.

Point taken, but how many of us have as much faith in MON as we do Arsene Wenger?

  9. Out-

    Milner -30 mil

    Davies - 5mil

    Sidwell -3mil

    Shorey -2mil

    Heskey - 2mil

    Osbourne 1 mil

    Money in:43 mil

    In-

    Ireland - 8mil

    Carrick -10 mil

    Keane -7 mil

    ........

I'm already liking who we could purchase with the money in.

If we had that much money i'd like to be aiming a bit higher than Keane for striker, and not so sure about Carrick.

  10. So we moan because there isn't any information and we don't know what is happening and then when we are given a clearer indication, it's a bad move? hmmmmm.

We could have been given the Milner information without coming out point blank and saying we need to sell to buy, given that we are in negotiations with the richest club in the world for arguably our best player.
