  1. 1) I don't think the shareholders have a say in who the manager plays and doesn't play.

    2) We don't know the full goings on with Luke Young and his form. The games he did play this season he got tore apart. Are you present at every training session?

    3) He was given a very long break following the death of his brother. As tragic as that incident was, how many other clubs would have given him unlimited time off to recover?

You mean the many games he played where the whole team was shite? Is his fault?

  2. Has anyone seen the type of players Avram Grant at West Ham is trying to get, a relatively(understatement) lesser team than us? I'm not saying they'll get them , but just look at the ambition and vision. God I wish we had someone like him in charge, they could work wonders with our resources and a club of our stature. Ok my covert MON bashing is done for tonight, I'll now wait until the signings start happening to judge.

  3. I understand it from both sides but i must say I'm in the it's a ridiculous ploy by MON if true in this case, but for all we know maybe MON wants the straight cash because he has bigger fish to fry? We never know. Also kinda gutted about L.Young and Davies, moreso actually fuming about L.Young. :(

  4. Why can't the player contract rules change in English football? If a player is under contract with ANY team an opposing team can only buy that exact contract and the player must operate under that exact same contract until its full duration. That would certainly stop all of this ridiculous raiding of other teams players. If a player is out of contract then the player can sign for whatever the market will handle. But this stealing other peoples players then giving the player a massive raise is downright ridiculous and really puts me off football. Disgusting. It puts to shambles any business sense and really blast to hell any idea of loyalty.

But we do the same to other teams. Most of us would also do the same in our professional lives.

  5. I do hope we sign a quality RB. I would be happy with that.

And me. Shame we've already got one that MON chooses to overlook, a good attacking full back, who is just as reliable defending.

    Luke Young, attacking?

To be fair, we don't really know the story there (apart from the obvious). Whatever it is, maybe it resolves itself over the summer?

Sorry, didn't make myself clear there, meant that the new rb, if we get one should have those qualities. Luke Young is many things be an attacking full back he is not.

He gets forward a hell of alot more than Cuellar. Even has the odd pop at goal! I don't understand how you two completely write him off as an attacking fullback? Of course i'm not saying he purely is, but he is a very well balanced right back.

  6. And I hope to god MON has a replacement in place before this happens. Screw it, It might be time for us to push the boat out and sign a CM of real quality. Or just change the system and formation as someone else mentioned. At a stretch even have Reo-Coker as a sort of "sweeper" in front of the back four, Petrov a little further up and a brand new spanking Attacking midfielder of proven quality for big money! Or go the 5-3-2 route.

  7. I'm still stunned you think we can easily replace him.

Well we have Sidwell to fill the void i suppose.

I actually agree with you for once! The Devil must be wearing mittens. ;) Kidding aside, I think that £28 mil is nowhere near enough to Milner considering how important he is to us now, and what he might become for us in the future if he stays. In fact, I would say that it would be a bargain considering the amount of cash City have. I also think that selling Milner will hurt us so much more than Barry and I think we will really struggle to find someone to replace the void left by him. Having two of our best midfielders leave for a rivalling club will hurt us on so many levels I'd rather not think about it at all. Anything under £35 mil should be rejected without any consideration.

Hopefully it's 28 million plus Ireland and add on clauses. Would much rather we had 28 mill with Milner staying though. FFS! Even if Delph steps up and becomes the next BIg thing the same will happen. Sad really.

Could go either way, could be the beginning of a new era where we have a much more balanced, youthful team mixed with the odd touch of the exotic. Or it could be a slippery slope back into mediocrity, or worse. :(

  8. It doesn't stop because we were taken over by Sheikh Mansour (who if people bothered to read anything up on, would stop with their bullshit stereotypical views of 'rich Arabs'), just as it didn't stop when we were ran by Peter Swales.

The one thing that City has always been is a big family.

I've just read on wikipedia that Sheikh Mansour has 2 wives.. so yup.. big family.

You realise how pointless this statement is in the grand sheme of things surely?

  9. The window has been open 8 hours and 40 mins now, why hasn't O'Neill signed anyone yet???? :)
8 hours 52. This is getting ridiculous.

Well, Martin was surprised to find out, after defeat to West Ham that we did use least ammount of players last season, in fact that's an hattrick. But Martin won't think that losing tough away match yesterday at st.James Park was due to any other fact than, that you just can't beat recently promoted teams at their home starter.

But we will be looking to bolster our squad before end of the month, hopely before Everton defeat at 28th, and it's not only up to MON, the big clubs have to got their time first, we are looking to things.

    What?

    I got it Spamm. :winkold:

  10. Darren Bent can't even get in an England squad that is low on quality strikers. Just watching Suarez for one game shows that he is a superior footballer technically and certainly a better finisher too. I couldn't really envisage Bent keeping his cool and curling it into the far stick like Suarez did yesterday. Obviously football opinions are subjective but some of Sir Gary Cahill's views are so leftfield it's beyond funny.

And Luke Young can't even get into a squad low on quality fullbacks. It's all relative to the respective managers really. Alves can't get into the Brazil team.

  11. Oh come on now were scraping the barrell a little dont ya think?? Robert Pires??

Yeah what a shit player he was.is. :?

Anyway, on a serious note, Villa never do anything positively unexpected/spontaneous, rabbits out of hats etc! Wer're just so predictable and boring sometimes it pains me!!! Not necessarily pointing to Pires, but there are certain deals that could be had which would add an old experienced head to our squad, on frees or dirt cheap, even if they may only make the odd appearance, these types of players are the ones who change games with a late Cameo, or teach the young ones a great deal in every aspect of football! (Once again not really talking about Pires specifically)
