Lerner isn't sacking a man a few short months into a new contract, in a period of belt tightening, who buys into the financial restrictions and has been instrumental in sorting things financially and keeping things ticking over.
As said, he's not going anywhere.
It's what, £25m loss for each of the first four years after relegation, then it climbs once the "parachute" payments dry up? You don't think Lerner has some advisor reminding him of the cost of releg? I can't believe he'd be THAT clueless.

Tom Fox the #AVFC CEO reads all emails he says. Email him if you want tom.fox@avfc.co.uk and ask him what he knows that we don't regarding Lambert
Dear Mr Fox
I'm advised you read all your emails from fans so here goes...
...
Kindest regards
Very nice -- thank you!

I'm almost starting to hope we actually get relegated so Lambert might get fired, and we'd get rid of him.
Believe me, you really should not want that.
We might actually score a goal then though
If we get relegated we may never get up again
Word.

I sense a Steve Keane (Blackburn) situation developing - I don't believe Randy will allow that - if only for his own vanity.
He will gone next couple of weeks.
I think you're right. It's finally hit critical mass. Another loss with Chelsea and Lerner will have all the cover he needs. Let's hope Lerner doesn't become a victim of his own generally genial nature. The conversation should start like this, in the spirit of cliche football kiss-offs: "First of all, Paul, I want to thank you for all ... blah blah blah."
-
Its goes past blaming Lambert IMO - We know he is taking us down - those above him Fox/Lerner must know it as well - if they fail to act as other chairman have - then they are as much to blame as Lambert
Almost too obvious but you're right, it needs to be said -- again and again. I think Lambert needs a change, too, frankly. This can't be good for him. He's hamstrung with Lerner. It's not the same as Pardew at magpies exactly, but it has shades of that in that I think Lambert could do better elsewhere.
-
However i much i find it baffling does it really matter if someone still supports Lambert? If you want to take it out on someone who finds his record acceptable then its Lerner.
I think Lerner is very loyal to people, in general, and it's more that and a generally very conservative business approach than anything else that's keeping PL in a job. We can only hope he's beginning to see that nothing will change if nothing changes. The man's scared. The idea that he would deliberately ruin the club is utterly absurd. It's more a lack of understanding football.

Any change now will be far to late he should have gone last christmas
Lerner has made his bed and now all Villa fans must lie in it...
Relegation beckons
It's hard to imagine that even Lerner can't see the hopelessness in keeping PL at this point. If we go down, he's going to lose a lot of money. Surely he grasps that?

Watch the highlights with the sound off whilst listening to Joy Division and our loss almost looks beautifully poetic and weirdly noble. So ... that's the trick. Just keep the sound off and play lots of dismal post-punk.

Just FINALLY figured all this out. Our club has been only disguised as AVFC. We're actually the national squad for the Republic of San Marino. Those clever Italians have pulled a fast one on us, I tell you!!!!!
-
I just want us to fire lambert so we can start losing every single remaining match this season by massive scores and everyone misses him
So your theory is that Lambert has actually been saving AVFC? Wow. I didn't realize. It had, you see, almost seemed like that opposite of that. But I appreciate you sorting my thinking out.

You guys are to hard on the team it's Arsenal for. They are one of the best teams in the league we are the worst what did you expect
Nice wind-up. Right?
-
I have had tooth extractions that were easier to take than this.

You gotta admit, the score flatters us. Arsenal has lacked, too, and we've been lucky.
-
We are flying on wings made of weaker clubs. Methinks the free ride is almost over. But I hope we don't go down. It may be years before we get back up.

Nice stop from Cleverly.
-
Cleverly isn't the problem, the problem is Sanchez. His positional sense is abysmal. The amount of times he wanders about and leaves a huge gap in our midfield is infuriating.
Agree. Every time I see Sanchez, he's slowing our game down and destroying any hope of a counter-attack.
-
Can we do a better job of letting Arsenal enjoy unopposed possession near our goal? Jaysus flipping hell.
-
Another week, another taste of the weakest sauce. What to do?
-
A 2 - 0 cup win against a team we should be beating anyway is not going to win me over and convince Lambert is good enough
Consistancy is everything something Lambert has never shown since he's been here
I don't know whether he's good enough or not, but there's a profound lack of innovative thinking on the pitch, and that's purely on Lambert. I would take a little inconsistency at the moment because we've been consistently sucking.

Saved by the Gil.

Without Gil's brilliance, we'd be up by one against an overachieving Championship club. Don't care if we win by 5 --- the Lambert/Lerner duo is spent.

Lambert needs to go. Nice guy but we need a change before it's too late.

Sick to my stomach.
