  1. I don't think you could say his time was better than the Stig either, his fastest is probably a better time, although obviously he knows the track.

 Yes you really can. He was 0.3s down, in the wet.

Really, I thought it was more than that. Ahh well it was a good lap then to be fair. Perhaps I'm wrong, maybe there is a big difference between the great the good and us mortals even in low powered cars over 1 lap. But I'd sure love to have a go :D

  2. I'm not a boy racer lol. I'm not even a petrol head, but I am quite sure I and many other drivers with a feel for driving could produce a fast time in that car, with just a little bit of practice and training. We'lll have to agree to disagree.

  3. But you could beat an F1 drivers time?

    Where did I say beat?

    I'm saying

1)I could get a close time to those F1 drivers and beat most of those celebs.

2)I think nearly all the celebs have been shit that I've seen on the show, a mixture of thespians and pop artists that cant even change gear. Which has made the decent ones look superb and the F1 drivers look like magicians. It's not 100 celebs either surely?

    3) Hamilton is an excellent driver, but saying that lap is in any way a sign of genius is just a joke. A person off the street with a bit of training could do that. Like I say, it's in super high powered vehicles over many laps that these guys skills come to the fore.

  4. Baz is the Stig!

    Or summat that sounds similar

I don't think it's that extraordinary a claim to make myself. It's 1 lap in a low powered car. If the Stig showed you the best line, and you had 10-15 laps to perfect it, find the cars limits I don't see why not. These F1 drivers are not magicians, they only have the same power as you. If you find the cars limits and listen to the Stig over 1 lap there's not going to be much difference between your time and Hamiltons if your a decent driver. To make any judgements about his ability from that is a little OTT IMO. It's in high powered vehicles over a number of laps those guys are good.

  5. I could do a similar time to those F1 drivers in that car, you don't have to be a genius or and F1 driver to drive that car quick. I recon nearly all of the celebs are just really shit.

  6. And here we go:

Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho does not want to succeed Steve McClaren as England manager, BBC Sport understands.

Mourinho, 44, has been out of football since leaving Stamford Bridge in September but is believed to be waiting for a club rather than a national post.

    Click

Right then, MON for England Mourinho for Villa. Sorry MON, but I'd actually be quite happy by that outcome.

  7. General Krulak here:

    1. Soooo, I am wealthy???? Don't let my wife know!!!!! The name is Krulak...not Warren Buffett!

    2. Sorry you don't like the web site. We have received many compliments on it. The Browns played a large role in setting up the parameters of the site.

    3. Tough day for my adopted Country.

On the subject of England I do think MON will need to clarify his position sooner rather than later as regards to the England job.

I think the web site's fine, functional is the word. Your all doing a marvellous job off the pitch, keep up the good work and the rewards will come.

    Baz.

  8. Nice report, but kind.

This game was awful. Bolton were poor, we were worse. It looked like two championship sides battling it out, it was embarrassing. Embarrassing watching us play the style of football (I've become resigned to expect from MON), and not only that but do it badly.

    I'm seriously doubting MON.

  9. When he played out wide for DOL I always argued, (probably too much!) that he should be moved inside. I never really thought his talents suited to the wing. I'm glad to see him now floureshing in his best position, although even I am surprised at how well he passed the ball about for England. He did extremely well as a kind of defensive link man, playing it simple and always having a picture in his head. The true test however, will come when he faces teams who don't just sit back and allow him time to pick out passes.

  10. The shows format is starting to get a bit repetitive IMO. I'll still watch though. Are there any new supercars out that they haven't driven across Europe yet?

  11. He's all right footed if Youtube is anything to go by. I'm afraid he's also one of the first players I've seen that even looks rubbish on Youtube :notsure: In all seriousness I hope he does really well here and gets all our support.

  12. 3 Premiership quality defenders at Villa. Something we've needed for a long time.

Although this signing does not improve the first team it's great to have a bit of decent cover at the back. Zat in, Ridge out - must surely be an improvement to the squad.

    Welcome Zat and good luck.

  13. I think the balance has been just right (in the premiership) over the last few years, except for the GK situation, where keepers are protected too much. The problem is with the application of the rules, refs get it wrong far too often IMO.

However I do fear the premiership becoming too continental, where any type of hard physical challenge is usually given as a free kick. If that happened a large part of the game I love will be lost.

  14. I've kept my silence so far this summer. Partly because,

    1. The summer is not over yet, the transfer window is still open.

I personally think we need to buy 2 or 3 really good players if we are to meet my expectations for the coming season and make significant progress in the league and domestic cups.

    but mostly because,

    2. I will judge MON and the board on performances and results.

I can't get mad about who we buy, I really don't care who we bring in if they do the business. What's the point in getting mad now? MON and the board must to be given our time and trust to show us what they can do.
