Ellis has had it, there is no way back IMO. But he can prolong the process by being awkward. I cannot see the takeover getting to this stage and doug backing out, I just cant.

I just despair, we have a bloody good manager who wants the job, a couple of excellent consortiums willing to take control, a couple of shambolic ones too by the sounds of it. So whats the hold up, invite Lerner back - talk to Still, discount the crap ones and pick a winner. Get MON in and away we go, sorted. So whats the hold up? Doug feckin Ellis by the sounds of it, who else!

Despite SSN saying they were expecting a statement today we are as much in the dark now as we were 2 weeks ago all of the speculation is making me more and more frustrated!!!!!!!!
SSN have stopped saying that now. Nothing today.

Does an official bid have to come in? Could the club have agreed with the interested parties that they would choose one from the informal offers on the table to save time? Then the chosen consortium go on to make a formal offer? I really haven't a clue how these things work.

watching SSN, we should at least feel lucky that Ken Bates has found a new club. As bad as Doug in my eyes, he's totally in it for himself. He'll end up with a fortune from Leeds, thats for sure.
I Doubt it, not that I like the man I recon he's an arrogant gobshite. But Leeds is a challange for him rather than a huge money making scheme. For all his faults he does try to do well for his club - not that he's very good at his job either with all the debts he left Chelsea with.

I'd say it was more likely to be the new manager then new owners.
It makes no sense for Doug to bring a man in, or for any manager to negotiate with Doug. But then when did Villa ever make sense!!

They were reporting that they are expecting a statement to be released by the club today.....? Whats all that about then?
I doubt it will be to reveal a new manager, it will be either 'the bids are all in and we are going to have a few days of consideration' or 'the new owners are....' hope it's the latter. I doubt it will be a new manager revealing, but I could be wrong!!

SSN keep saying these men are NOT conected with Lerner, but they wont report how they know this to be so, I feel like bloody E-mailing to ask them. Do they have mind readers working there!
-
Makes more sense, one last look before the deal is closed perhaps?

home being...?
Where he lives

I heard earlier that it very possible that these Americans are representing the Dubai people, so you may well be right.
Are these the Dubai people suposedly connected with Still, or is this a new one? **** this my brain is fried I need a holiday!
-
One things for sure there has to be a cut off now, where all bids are in and to be considered. Then the winning bid sorted. We need a manager in place soon, we've already missed the transfer deadline probably. The deadline should have been 2 months ago if you ask me, but logic doesn't seem to go hand in hand with Villa. What a tit about arse way of going about our business the last 3 months has been. Well it sums up the last 20 odd years really lol.
-
Just need Ellis to choose the right one :? AND to keep his nose out of feckin transfers and manager appointments, can you do that Mr Ellis!!!
-
WOW new american consortium
-
Why the **** would Lerner want his manager to negotiate contract length, wages etc.. with Ellis!!! If you were Lerner you'd be on the phone with O'Neill negotiating these things with him, giving gentleman's agreements talking about the future plans etc..Ellis will not be party to that, it will have nothing to do with him. MON will arive shortly after Lerner IMO. Next Week.
-
Premature.......but NOT wrong!
They aren't denying this link with MON though are they?
Thats true!
-
The wording of the statement sounded like there would be no anouncements regarding a new manager in the near future, i.e. in for the next few days at least, but hey you never can tell. Personally I dont expect there to be one any time soon, maybe next week.
-
SSN said it was just in.
-
The club has just released a statement on SSN saying that there will be NO anouncement regarding a new manager in the near future and reports suggesting otherwise are premature.

Sorry to piss on everybody's parade here, but I dont think it's quite as cut and dry as some seem to think. I'm sure there will be some more twists and suprises before this saga reaches it's conclusion. What about the Athole bid, they've been quietly going about their business - they could have a strong package to present to the board. Then there are the other two, Neville looks increasingly like an outsider now, the Padfield one is a total mystery. Nope it aint over yet.
