Speak for yourself. Do you actually think we are good enough in any department to dominate any side ?

The disturbing thing is that against Cardiff, we know that even they will come to Villa Park and dominate us. We will play the same so called "tactics" as usual . For the life of me I can`t understand why Lambert didn`t go out and buy a recognised midfield playmaker unless he thinks that side of things are unimportant if we can keep on hoofing it to a big striker.

This counter attack policy is made to sound like some grand plan. ITS NOT ! With substandard creative midfielders theres no choice. When the mindset of the players is just get the ball to someone who can run fast ( gabby ) and get it to Benteke , we`re stuck in a rut . We did that when we were kids . Boring , retrogade, and unproductive. Plus, the defence is no where near strong enough to withstand the posession that virtually all teams enjoy against us , even the so called weaker teams.

Family all from Aston so it was never going to be anyother way luckily. Going to school in the early 70,s meant sticking up for Villa against Leeds fans who were the glory hunting saddo`s of that time, and Blues fans who were in Div 1 at the time. First match was Michael Wrights testimonial in 75 against Stoke. Two things that struck me most was how beautiful the pitch under AV floodlights was, I`d never seen such a beautiful expanse of green turf in my life. But the other thing that struck me was the state of the back of the Witton End with scruffy grass and weeds growing everywhere. Taking our last 9 league games into consideration, we've W 4 D 2 L 3 The three defeats being against Man City , Arsenal and Liverpool . This suggests that we're actually not in relegation form and are a different proposition to the team of nightmares earlier in the year and those nightmares have actually scarred most of us mentally into thinking we are still shit.

Just checked the goals scored column. Wigan have scored one more goal than us aswell as having one goal difference more . It could be as terrifying as that in the end !

Seeing as they've all but won the trophy, they'll probably field a weakened side...a point is very attainable IMO Why would they field a weakened side ? Saving themselves for what exactly?

Just one goal difference with Wigan now . Should we be thinking realistically now of just keeping the score down tomorrow beecause a 4-0 tonking could be disastrous , wheras 1-0 could be worth a point in the long run

Hitting them on the break makes the assumption that we can soak up pressure without conceding goals , and then go up the pitch and nick one. Not something which is possible with our defence I'm afraid .

Why couldn't Lambert bring in someone like Tony Adams as defensive coach when it became obvious to a blind man we couldn't defend effectively. Ok granted Adams tried management and it didn't work ,but I'm sure if concentrating on our woeful defence he could've only had positive results

Thats it now. Done and dusted as far as I can see. Played like that for too long now to expect anything else to change . How on earth a premiership manager can expect survival without a couple of new experienced players is beyond me. No leaders still, and still making the same mistakes, and still only playing for half a match.Roll on the end of the season and finish this torture

Had a bit of faith in Lambert until the Bradford match. Just throwing on attackers at the end was like watching a 10 year old in charge of a school team . Luckily Withe , Shaw and McInally were`nt on the bench or he`d have chucked them on as well. Seriously though, throwing all these kids on at the start of the season would never work, never mind the fact that they`re not good enough anyway. Ferguson would slowly integrate younger players into a team whereas Lambert throws them all into an already shit team. NO HOPE. Hutton and Warnock could do no worse in defence. If nothing changes after tonights debacle then it never will and we are doomed . Expect a Newcastle win and probably another 8-0 somewhere before the END.

Think the attackers are gaining some sort of form at the moment, but dont think that will carry us through with a very weak midfield and a crappy liittle defence

Nail on th head there Villarocker. Never dreaded matchdays like I do these days . Even when McNeil took us down , it didn't feel the same as this probably will. I think the difference then was that football wasn't "EVERYWHERE" all the time and you werent reminded of the impending misery all the time. So yes , not far from our darkest hour

We're doomed. Basically there are no teams worse than us in the league. This leaves only one direction possible, and as for decisions going against us , thats a red herring as all teams get bad decisions; its just that for us the impact will always be worse because we're in such a mess everyhere. Hopefully if we do go down Lerner will sell up tosome rich Arabs at a knockdown price
