He's clearly not being sacked regardless of the result against city.

So are we just hoping we can get points to survive now?

What makes you draw that conclusion? Because he is in a picture with new signings? This doesn't mean he won't be sacked after the city game, a 9-0 hammering usually means the sack these days.

If there were no pictures with the manager, everyone here would see it as a sign he's clearly gone.

I don't understand this situation. Luiz wanted to go to Arsenal. They bid £25m for him and he has under a year left on his deal. It is almost a certainty he will not extend that deal, especially now.

So it's do we value Luiz services for the season over that of the money?

The only thing I can think of is the youth players. Ramsey and Iregobunam and the level they will be at come next summer. Which combined with Luiz performance for the season is their preferred plan

even if the youngsters step up, it's still £25m we will not get and instead have a (potentially) unhappy player for the remainder of the season.

I think that the decision has been made of his departure..

We are waiting after the city game..

New manager bounce against Leicester and then go on a 4 game run or let a new manager start with a hammering. I'd prefer the former.

Just hope it won't be 9-0 for ManC this weekend.

His cracker against Baggies was brilliant.

Must only be McGinn left from the Championship team now?

I like wingers like him, he was fun to watch and seemed like a really nice guy - all the best Anwar!! :)

Mings was on loan second half of the season, does that count?

McGinn still plays on championship level though

  6. He needs some time on the bench. We'v all seen that on his day, he is a great player for us, but those days haven't been around for a while. No shame in being out of form, but if continues this long, it doesn't help the player to still start every week.

Let him fight for his place in the side, not grant him immunity. The armband doesn't change that for me.

All united fans gone back to depression mode.

Alot of my  utd mates are convinced they are in a relegation battle this year

Chelsea had a season like that a few years ago didn’t they? Not really in a relegation battle, but around 14-15th throughout the season. Imagine ManU doing that, ‘rock bottom’ for them.

I did think DeSantis might do it but his popularity in Florida and the far right wing press isn’t really expanding into the moderate republicans nationwide.  He’s trying to really invest in other states but not getting traction sufficient.  Still time and maybe while Trump is on the scene it’ll be hard for him or anybody else to get real ground so I watch this space.

There is also the other side, the Democrats.  After Biden is there somebody whose going to emerge to unite the left or at least keep most together that if a right wing powerhouse does emerge, is there a left wing or moderate to compete.

I don’t know if he is the saviour, but I like the way Buttigieg is handling the spotlights as secretary. He was a nobody last election, but not anymore. He is a Vet, so difficult for conservatives to attack, but he does go on Fox regularly and always counters them correctly.

He is also gay, so something for progressives to rally behind, while I believe he is a centrist Dem. Something for everybody.

They got the Dutch winger already so not sure if they're still in for him

They've maybe done OK in replacing what they've lost but that's not enough to make them a good team

Still think they'll scrape by and finish around 16th

€40million bid apparently, but the player prefers Milan. Brugge want €35m at least and Milan only offered €32m.

De Ketelaere wasn’t too keen on Leeds as he wants to play for prizes, but it would probably be the better move as he’ll get plenty of game time at Leeds.

Just read a few reactions on FOX news (you know, the only news channel that brings the truth, (unless it doesn't suit them)). Apparantly the shooter was a Trump supporter, present on Jan 6th, but because he looks like Antifa with his ugly tattoos and hair, the consensus on there is that he is a lefty loser. These are not opinions but facts.

I’m curious how they are going to be checking on these women in no abortion states. Will they be examined at the border? Or Will it just be a random person claiming you were pregnant making you a suspect?

I think it’s pretty much inevitable at this point that if he’s allowed to run he’ll win. He got more votes that any losing candidate in history.

America has always been a divided country but I can’t remember it being this bad in my lifetime. I’m not old enough to remember the civil rights and anti Vietnam struggle but it certainly feels like we’re getting back to that point.

Am I right in saying secession is a word being thrown around in places like California?

You could also say the evangelicals have now less reason to vote for him. He can’t promise to overturn Roe anymore, it’s done. That argument now lies with the democrats, reinstate Roe or an equivalent.

I read Freakonomics a while back. It stuck with me that it argued that about 20 years after Roe v Wade, crime rates dropped since there were less children born into poverty or foster care. We’ll see in 20 years if that argument was true.

Gelhardt has looked great when given a chance in fairness, he's a bit on the short side but he's stocky and aggressive. Got a bit of Rooney/Tevez about him but it would be a huge gamble to let him play second choice to a pretty injury prone Bamford.

We've been linked to Kalinuendo from Lens/PSG but I admittedly know **** all about him

Noah Lang too but he comes with a bit of an ego and attitude that I don't think would fit into our team at all

He's not a real CF, more a winger. He can play there though, but is not a natural finisher

Yeah, the pot of money will be useful, but the job replacing those two will be pretty massive. We could see how they played without Phillips last season (and it wasn't pretty) and Raphinha is a lot of attacking output that needs to be replaced. Money is good, but unless it can be turned into players who win matches they'll be in trouble from the start of the season. As you say, the squad is mostly very poor otherwise.

Well, if they sell Phillips for big money (which they will if it's ManCity), they will be able to replace someone who didn't play for most of the season. Everyone coming in is then on top of their horrible team that barely escaped relagation. To me, that's them adding to their squad and therefore improving.

Brugge have won 5 of the 7 leagues but Anderlecht have double the amount of titles and have won 5 titles themselves since 2009

Kompany first season though he was demoted back to player halfway through was Anderlecht lowest finish since the 30s

Anderlecht are a financial mess. They do not have the buying power they once had and used a lot of loans to fill their squad in recent years. Brugge is the dominant team now and Antwerp is throwing money around to catch them.
kompany had to work under difficult circumstances, used a lot of youth but still should have done better given the players he had in the end.

I think its been poor when you look at what xbox and ps libraries.  No disrespect to you as its not having a go, but three games a year isnt good enough in my opinion

Whats happened to BOTW 2 and bayonetta 3? Or metroid 4?

I thought BOTW2 was scheduled for the end of this year. Christmas is always a good time to launch games

In January Brighton signed the leading scorer in the Belgian league for £6m from their sister club Union Saint-Gilloise.

He's scored 55 goals in 82 games for them

    And 16 assists, blimey.

If we had Brighton's background setup I think we'd be in a very strong position.

With their director of football having just signed for Newcastle, it's a big reason I think they'll be up challenging for Champions League before too long.

half of those games were in the second division though. He scored 26 in 37 in first division, which is still very impressive but to give a comparison, Samatta once scored 20 in 28 in the same league.

This could still go either way.

I wouldn't mind having a sister club abroad or in the championship however.

  19. Just looking at a the table, it's going to be about who we are competing with. SKy6 will probably claim 6 positions in top 6-7, I don't think we'll overtake any of these. ManU will not have a season like last, Chelsea with their new owner will probably invest, the others will probably be around the same level.

From all the teams we have between us and 7th, I think we can/should overtake Brighton, Palace and Brentford. Wolves, Leicester and West Ham are more established sides than us, they might drop off a bit, but we can't be sure before the end of the transfer window (eg: what if WHam lose Bowen or Rice, what if Leicester lose Thielemans). Newcastle will probably spend big. Everton will not have a season like what they just had, but I don't expect them too high either.

Top 10 should be the aim, anything higher would be a good season.

FYI, that movie was not about Beckham
