Yep i have thought that as well. Lets face it we will never know the true story of how things went over the last week.
Are you claiming all those fine reporters and twitter people were just making stuff up and not reporting the state of affairs as they actually happened?

You gotta wonder what’s going through his head right now, there must be some element of doubt about the move in his mind and being torn about what to do…. There has got to be hasn’t there?
He might imagine the atmosphere at VIlla Park when he visits as a ManCity player. I do think he is a villa supporter (but as a player he might think he needs to move to win trophies), so imagine being a villa supporter and being booed by the Holte End. That will hurt, no matter how fat your bank account.

Putting any player ahead of the club like this, for me, is madness. He didn't do any of those things single-handedly. Maybe him going will make you and others realise the value that other players and the manager/coaches bring.
Agreed, he did not do that alone. He did have a big impact though.

1000000% worse. Delph wasn't a Villa boy through and through. Jack leaving now makes him a total snake for the most disgusting team in football. All the City fans laughing and baiting us for months and calling us shit club and fans. **** Judas leaving us on the up
Que?
Delph said he'd stay a day or so before leaving (hence the snake name), Grealish did no such thing.
Jack is a villa boy, yes. Does that mean he does not have the right to have bigger ambitions? We can not offer him CL football now and have no guarantee for next season (we can hope for it though). Added to that, Grealish is a LOT better than Delph ever was, so he could actually go and do something in a team like that.
I want him to stay as much as anyone, but if the offer is correct, I wouldn't begrudge him the chance to play at a higher level. (Once we win the league we can buy him back to play CL for us) He got us back to the PL and kept us here in our first season. The man has done a lot for our club, I hope he will do more and get us into europe, but if he wants to go and the club gets a lot of money for him, good luck to him.

does "expected to bid" come before or after "preparing a bid"?, and where do both of those fit in with "in the process of launching a bid"?
It all comes after ‘considering a bid’

Surely Jack remembers what happened with Delph and Milner at City. He'll be lucky if he ends up on the bench and won't get the game time he needs to get up to speed. I believe that his and Ginny's posts were all but confirmation that he's staying put at his boyhood club. He'd get immense stick from his family if he were to go to City. He won't even get a better deal there. Our owners are just about as rich as theirs. We're on the up, while they're still trying to get their first CL trophy after spending a gazillion quid.
Be real, it's a lot more likely to win something with Man CIty than it is with Villa atm. In 5 years or so (hopefully less) we might consistently compete with them.
Also Milner played a lot when he first got there, same as Barry. Jack's better. So 'lucky if he ends up on the bench'? You do not rate Jack?
All that being said, let's hope he stays because he is the absolute star here and would be a squad player with them.

The third european competition has had a few qualifier games already, so let’s see if this new invention is a bit entertaining or just rubbish.

As Smith Rowe isn’t happening, I’d quite like us to look at Yari Verschaeren. A 20-year old ACM from Anderlecht who has 1 in 6 for the Belgian national team. Potentially class.
That goal was a penalty against san marino iirc
far from the finished product, but loads of potential.

You do know that is how FIFA works?
More games, more revenue, more teams especially authoritarian/corrupt Africa and Asia countries to compete in the World Cup who then give UEFA more bribes and to counter balance the European countries with free press who ask difficult questions about the governance of the game?
everyone knows, but nobody can do anything about it

They are going to have 3 team groups, followed by knock out matches for last 32, 16, and so on. So only 2 group games per team and 2 out of 3 in each group getting through.
Who comes up with this stuff? Who in their right mind comes up with this formula for a tournament and says 'my god, it's going to be awesome'? some money guy I assume, but still, how does he manage to convince the entire football world this is a good idea.

If we are really lucky Villa Park could host Algeria versus Ecuador or some such heavyweight clash.
Seems like a game for a 32 team WC, with 46 teams we'll get Vietnam vs Dominican Republic

There were only 3 'mouthwatering' fixtures in the knock out rounds - England vs Germany, Italy vs Belgium and Italy vs Spain. The rest were good games but not titanic clashes
You mean 'big name clashes'? Then I agree with what you are saying.
My point was more about the Finland-Russia or Ukraine-Macedonia games, too many teams that are just happy to be there. With only 16 countries, over half them would at least feel they have a chance, there would be none of this 'best 3rd' stuff which then makes teams play for top 2 in the group, not just 'beat the other bad team'. It's not about the big names, but about the teams in it to win. Denmark as a prime example, Swiss as well, they are not the big names you mention, but made the tournament better. too many teams=too many games not worth it
-
The tournament gets interesting once it’s the final 8 or so. There are too many terrible games in the group stages, so I would want it to go back to 16 teams (never going to happen of course). Half of europe qualifies, so it doesn’t seem a tournament of the best teams.

Didn't they have it as recently as 2002?
Then again, USA had it as recently as '94 and have managed to get it again so soon.
France had ‘98 World Cup and ‘16 Euro, so you can get it in quick succession. There’s only about 20 countries or so worldwide that can host these events

Imagine him getting injured during his last training and out for 2-3 months. What would City do?
