En route now, it's the first home game I've been to since Dean Smith's first Villa match against Swansea.

My dad used to take me on the train a fair bit when I was younger, so I wanted to return the favour that day and take him. Hopefully we can get the same result (1-0).

Unfortunately he passed away in January, so I feel a little emotional sat on the train, on my own, thinking about all the times he used to take me and now he's not here. Hopefully he's watching and can bring some good luck upon us!

Hoping for a great atmosphere, and can't wait to see Villa Park again in all it's glory, been far too long.

    We got this!👊

Dean Smith's old man stopped the ref's watch that time the ball went over the line

Which is the point of a CPO. To prevent essentially black mail like this. Personally I have no issues with a CPO as long as everyone is getting fair value. Have an independent appraiser come in and evaluate each house, then give 10% extra for the hassle.

Ultimately a Villa redevelopment would be what is best for the area if it included a series of nice apartments, a shopping district, bars/restaurants/hotels and revamped public transport links.

So someone says to you, you have to sell your house, which you might be quite happy in, and that's ok?

  3. If I lived that close to VP and knew what the plans were, I would wait for the neighbours to sell and hold out to the last to extract maximum money. I can't see it happening for that reason. It's so unpredictable and could take decades.

  4. Have to say, forcing people to sell their homes so Villa can make more ticket monies is not something I could get on board with. If they want to sell then that's a different matter but Villa will have to pay the price the seller wants - whatever that is surely it's less than building a brand new stadium overall.

  5. It's just mentality isn't it - that he's installed in these players. They've been drilled not to let their heads go down even at one or two down and to stick to the method. Then the method works and reinforces the mentality. And on it goes back and forth until they all have elite mentality.

Apparently all refs and club official were asked about rules at the draw, this was one question that was asked with club officials getting it wrong.

If last night's ref was there I can imagine the mad bastard sat on his own shunned by the other refs for being a frickin weirdo.

Was anyone else cackling at Emi making all those kids cry

I cackled, I saw all the close ups of those bright faced overly confident french sprogs, as an omen - the director focused on them continually in the last half hour and I was like, why they so confident? This will end badly. So I cackled at their pain but also at my own smugness for seeing it coming. Mega cackle.

  8. Seriously not worried about Unai being poached, he's done PSG and Arsenal, he's had a taste of that and it was bitter. The guy has found his home.

  9. What you are watching in that moment is a man experiencing an emotion equal to a million orgasms - it is the precise moment that ‘the work’ pays off.
