  1. I do have a good PS action for increasing the dynamic range - but the shots need to be shot RAW to begin with

Dont know what RAW means I'm afraid. I like to think I've got a good eye for a photo but I'm definitely an amateur!

  2. Thai Boxing one is class Rob. Beautiful energy in it. Nice one.

Dunno how they managed to fight on that sloping floor though ;)

I took stacks at the boxing. The kids started at about age 11 and then it went right up to adults. Got some class videos of them all going through the rituals of kissing the ropes and canvas too.

its a really nice shot mate. Could easily end up as the background of a DPS on one of my brochures. :winkold:

Knock yourself out mate (scuse the pun!). I'll put a couple more boxing ones up over the weekend too.

I've not shopped any of my snaps here other than too reduce the size, and the DPI to 72 so they'd upload quicker. If anyone wants to have a play with 'em I'd be psyched to see the results!

Anyways, I'm off to bed. Laters boxing fans!

Needless to say I've been saddened by my return to the German winter :(

  5. just a small point on eastwood, i don't know much about him, but if he was released from west ham they musn't have thought he will make it, where as the ashton, bent and dawson's of this world came through there clubs youth academies and was then star players for there teams.

Platt was released by Man Utd, we kind of released Brian McClair, West Ham kind of released Ridgewell, we released Boaz Myhill.

  6. I am going to buy a bottle of Champagne this weekend. I'm not saying I'll need it anytime soon, but it'll be there just in case.

It's important to have one in the fridge at all times, regardless. You never know when you might need it. A bottle of champers in the cooler and a bottle of Johnnie Walker Black Label on top of it. Rock and roll!

  7. Just a question (don't know if it's been dealt with before, but feck me to go through all those pages :? ):

If we're taken over by say Lerner, can he terminate the contract with 32red, pay them money and wave "byebye" and get a new, bigger and better sponsor in?

I would assume with the amount of money Lerner has he can buy his way out of anything.

Yes, probably, but is it legal? It sure must be, mustn't it?

In theory, yes the contract can be bought out. Equally that of Hummel can be bought out, as happened at Chelsea where adidas (boo, hiss) paid a lump sum to Umbro to get the kit deal.

That said, there is more to it than money. If Lerner comes in now and does that, who would be happy with their replica shirt which was already out of date? Team shirts would still have 32Red on them even though the deal was terminated- until Hummel could make some more. Villa would have to pay out a huge amount to Hummel for lost earnings, and to buy the old stock. They'd also have to pay a lot of money to 32Red. In the short term it'd be nonsense.

There's till time for next season, though

  8. What if its all the mother of all mind **** and deadly is still in charge next season ?

In a box , why would he want to sell the one thing that keeps him alive ?

Mon as manager to appease the howling masses , good start to the season , ellies comes out smelling of roses again.

Be afraid , be very afraid.

Nup. Ellis' Roller will be departing VP for the last time any day now. He's got 38 years of fishing to catch up on.

  9. Make no mistake, he's stopped working on the club other than the sale. This is the end. His final days.

and they're making him stay in the car.

    :lol::lol::lol::lol:

What a wonderful image that is.

That has made my day. Brilliant!

Yup. "Stay in the car old man- and don't touch the locks. Or the horn. We'll leave Radio 4 on for you. And a little gap in the window because this thing will be a lot tougher if you choose now to finally carc it."

    :lol::lol::lol:

  10. Sky Sports said that Michael Neville has confirmed that the bid is at the "due diligence" stage- in other words the Comer Group are going through Villa's accounts.

Apparently a £64.5m takeover could be completed "within a few days".

So here it is Merry Christmas, everbody's having fun!

My quote from December 23rd at 12.20pm on Page 1 of this thread.

Just a "reality check" for everyone who wants to feel miserable. It's not going to put me off getting excited!

  11. Rumour has it that of all the prospective bids, Rothschilds top rated the American one.

Rumour also has it that they least rate(d) the Neville one.

Any "rating" from Rothschilds, would I guess, be from a financial viewpoint - How strong is the assurance of cash, guarantees, value and so on. There might also be a view on the viability and feasibility of plans detailed by the various consortia/prospective bidders.

Who knows the truth of rumours, mind.

Truth is one thing, Pete. Believability is something else entirely.

  12. Less celebs? Let's not forget the amount of talent he had in that Lazio team. I'd not be agianst him coming in. The right bloke for the job? Maybe not. The right bloke for the situation? Almost definitely. Gullit and Vialli weren't Chelsea's best ever managers, but without them there'd probably be no Abramovic today.

  13. So here we are, Villa out of the running for all competitions this year and now faced with staving off relegation which was exactly where we were when HDE hired DOL in the first place.

Sitting in my comfy armchair it is so easy to suggest to Doug that if he was "half smart" he might want to take the first 55M pounds that he gets a sniff at and bank it before he sees that increasing player and management costs whittle away the true value of the team.

Villa has become as interesting as a 25 year old lego set that you buy for 50p at a boot sale. You get it home and find that half the integral pieces are missing and it will cost you more than your pocket money to fix it.

Doug, old chap. you can afford to retire in luxury for the rest of what is left of your life. Sell the club for the best offer on the table and let the new blood figure out what lego pieces are needed. It's quite clear that your current advisors don't have enough acumen to find their way out of Tescos on a Wednesday afternoon, let alone build an old lego set.

Oh and by the way Doug, did you know that the brand name "Lego" comes from from the Danish words "LEg GOdt" or "play well", which is something that Villa seem unable to do consistently as long as you own it :(

    Inspired.
