I'm an old romantic at heart - I'll be in New York so am flying the Mrs out for the weekend and am hoping to get in a meal somewhere like the Empire State Building and then a horse and carriage ride around Central Park.

I voted Yes. Personally I think it's outrageous and exploitative. I'll be writing to my MP in the morning. Perverts!

It's the Japanese who are obsessed with elections.

As a Mod I've kindly added a poll function

Here's some pics from my recent trip to Kenya. Big love to Bicks for recommending the Fuji camera I bought and took with me

As for the MacIntosh problem...you are absolutely correct....not compatible at present. We are working hard and fast to sort this out.
Hi again General. Thanks for the feedback... For the last two years, though, I was sold AVTV on the promise that it would be Mac compatible "soon". I understand that it's currently being worked on for the future and look forward to that, but still feel a bit "ripped off" that twice I was told over the phone that it'd be OK for me to use and twice I paid for a service which didn't work...

On the subject of AVTV, I signed up to it again last summer after a call from the people selling it. I use a Mac rather than a PC, and during the 2006/7 season couldn't hear the commentaries or watch the videos. I was assured that the website would be updated for 2007/8 so signed up for another year - living abroad it would be great for me to have the service.
The promise never came true and so I've spent getting on for £70 in the last two years and had only normal website access for the privilege. It's disappointing to say the least...

Can we please keep this topic to questions for the General and not use it for other discussions. Posts have been deleted again...

Hardly, when I come from Northern Ireland
So you're even poorer than we first suspected then?

I'd boo him till I puked up. Players left in the past because of the club's lack of ambition. There's seemingly not that issue now. If he was going to Man Ure, Chelsea, Arsenal, I might be able to understand it but Liverplop are the least secure of the "Big Four" and not even Stevie "where's my forehead" G plays week in week out. Not ideal if you're looking to nail an England place in the one position where you've got some competition...

Unless Rafa's going to get the chop and MON will go to Anfield taking Gaz Baz with him?

Joe's gonna drop him.

Newcastle. Blues'll sink eventually anyway.

Thanks crazylegs. We appreciate your input and constructive comment. Goo luck for the rest of the year (apart from at Villa Park, obviously).

Cheers Scott. Much appreciated as ever.

I lived in Manchester for 4 years. It's an alright city but the people are arseholes. Birmingham is the Midlands' premier resort and as such should always be the UK's second city.

That's brilliant BOF. Really enjoyed it.
I think what we're seeing is an "MON team" but with a massive gulf in quality compared to what he's had at his disposal before. Having played with John Robertson at Forest he's clearly wise to the thought that teams with a good left winger tend to be successful - think Barnes, Giggs et al. One of his "stars" at Leicester was Guppy who, despite not being the greatest, did get an England call. Ashley Young is a different league but it seems to be the same sort of principle. Around the pitch you can make similar comparisons - Matt Elliott/Zat Knight; Sutton/Carew; Lennon/Reo-Coker.
MON has a history of making average players into good ones. Let's see what he can make of this set of good players he has already at his disposal...

Hi General. First time I've posted in this thread, but I wondered if the club has any partner airlines? I'm moving to Amsterdam soon and am considering getting a season ticket at Villa Park for the first time since I left England 6 years ago. If the club had a partner airline I might be able to book my flights for a special rate to ensure I can afford to get home to the games...
Worth a shot I guess.
Cheers,
Rob

Thanks for the write-up. I love Toronto, so enjoy your time up there!

Gabby for me. I just love players with raw pace, and he's breathtakingly quick.
James Milner - little known facts
in Hall of Fame
Posted
James Milner arrived at Bodymoor Heath at 6am this morning, stripped to his grey y-fronts, fibreglass socks and ill-fitting hobnail boots and proceeded to clear snow from the entire training ground using only a teaspoon with a broken handle.
He had finished by 7.30 and, not wanting his hard work to go to waste, began running furiously back and forth across the turf to prevent any further snow disruption ahead of the arrival of his teammates.
