  1. According to the Journo on Talk Sport this morning (yes I know!) - he was very clear at the press conference before the Euro qualifier that he wanted to join Liverpool. I just wish he'd hurry up and go now. I hope Liverpool crash and burn this season - I'm so sick of hearing about them, King Kenny this, King Kenny that

  2. Hi General and Welcome Back. I'm hoping for a much better season than last. Anyway, my question for you is about old Villa Kits and bags, scarves, hats and stuff. I have been having a good clear out at home (for no reason other than to make space in my wardrobe!!) Anyway I have quite a lot of the above items. I thought I remembered that these things could be taken to the Shop at Villa Park and they would then go to help kids in foreign parts? Is that still so General do you know? If so, I'll take mine up on Saturday.

  3. This thread is great. I am so embarrassed by the vitriol and behaviour of some of our so called "supporters". It is Villa, I will always be there, home and away when possible. By the way, what's happened to some of the "long established" posters lately? Richard is the first one that springs to mind, where's he gone, has he been red carded or something, several others missing too, - unless they're just staying off there of course! Well done on this thread though.

  4. I just renewed my Season Ticket this morning too . I try not to read too much into speculation or media gossip these days , but I was really really starting to hope we got Ancelotti - to think of Steve McLaren though  Still, IF he is appointed, we have to give him a chance but boy, what a disappointment. Let's just see what happens first though, none of us really know what's happening behind the scenes do we. I'm still not giving up hope of a good appointment. Who knows, McLaren could be it and have a fantastic spell at VP . He must want to try to mend his image and reputation surely. Ho hum, will stop trying to justify things now. Let's just wait and see.

  5. Why would he want to go to Liverpool anyway? They have no European football next season either. He should give us another season (at least) and then see where the land lies. I would be disappointed to lose Downing and also disappointed in him as a person - I think he owes us for buying him whilst on crutches, and nursing him through almost a full season injured!

  6. It was a great day. I left the ground with a thumping headache from the stress of holding on to the lead and the sheer noise of our fans. It was great. We've had some terrible away trips this season, times when I've even questioned whether it's all worth it, giving up a whole day of a weekend to watch depressing performances - but then it's days like Sunday, totally unexpected, that make it all worthwhile and reinforce just WHY I do bother and why I'll be doing it again next season . Great day.

Oh yeah, and one abiding memory for me was seeing Bin Laden in a yellow robe joining in a Conga - ha ha

  7. You never know, anything could happen.

My ex is now engaged to a 47 year old (she's 23, they got engaged after seeing each other for a month).

Fair play to him, if I bagged a 23 year old who looks like her when I'm 47 I'd be shouting it from the rooftops.

These things happen in strange ways!

Large age gap relationships don't usually stay the distance. This probably all seems fine at these ages but just wait until he is in his 60's and she is still only in her 40's. - the older they get the more marked the age difference becomes.

  8. Iam still upset by last night. Drove up there with a heavy cold and drove home with a heavy heart as well. Wasted half a day of my holiday for that, not to mention petrol money! I couldn't believe that we didn't have a proper go at this - we could have beaten Man City, then Reading at home and got to Wembley again (albeit that I don't agree with playing the semi finals at Wembley). Wondering whether to bother going to Bolton now (but I know I will). Quite honestly, I just can't wait for this season to end. I have always been one of the "Give Houllier time" brigade but after last night, I am starting to think twice.

  9. I don't think we have any cause to laugh at them lately! They are in the CC Final and on a good run of form - only two points behind us now with two games in hand. There is no way they are going down now (unfortunately). Knowing the luck they are having lately, they will probably fluke a win at the CC Final too! (Hate them more than ever now)
