  1. I haven't even bothered to phone home to check today - if it comes today or tomorrow morning then great but I have now resigned myself to having to go collect a paper ticket tomorrow :-(.  Remember when our season tickets were the booklets of tickets that had to be torn out for each game - it seemed like they used to come ages before the new season .

  2. Just phoned home - mine still hasn't arrived.  Tried to phone ticket office to at least check if it's been sent-  surprise surprise, it's constantly engaged.   I can't get there before Saturday to get a ticket printed either as I work too far away to do it .   Very irritating this is - typical that this happens when we have first game of the season at home !!!

  3. Also, they said ST for car parks would be available this season and more would be known about it at the end of June - they took my details but still heard nothing, despite asking a couple of times.  When I parked on Sat for the Watford game, they still had no idea about this either.

  4. Clearly when you renewed has no effect on delivery time?  I renewed in May and still no ST has arrived yet!    Hopefully it will arrive today as , despite all their assurances, I am starting to panic a bit now!

Has to be said, singing Don't Look Back In Anger felt special on Sunday. I think I've said in the past, it's not a song I would choose, but it's taken a bit of life of its own. I can't stop watching videos of it being sung down VP. I may be wrong, and it may fade away, but I think we may have an new anthem.

I think we will have to gracefully give this a miss as our potential new anthem  now - as it has now become Manchester/London/Anti terrorist anthem and I think that's only right really.   We will have to search for another I think - maybe by a Brummie band this time though - but yeah, it was becoming quite spine tingling to have everyone joining in like we were.

  6. the intro to this is great - the first 1 min 40 seconds ?  We could see them on the big screens in the tunnel area and they could "burst" on to the pitch just at the point where the intro ends   !

I think there will be a lot more Poilce next time they play here .

I think if I remember correctly that there was also a bit of bother kicking off after the away game at Hillsborough.  Do their fans have a reputation for this, or is there some bad blood between our Clubs?

  8. I will renew no question.   Having suffered some of the worst times , I don't want to lose my seat - I have to be there for when we regain our slipped crown as Pride of the Midlands and become challengers in the top league again  (well I can dream!!)  I suppose it's idiots like me that Villa thrive on!

Just spent £50m assembling the worst squad we've ever had and sending us on an unrecoverable spiral into relegation.

    Not too bad at all.

I honestly don't think Sherwood can be blamed for the relegation.  The rot had been setting in for many seasons - he was unable to stop the slide, but it was at least exciting at times during his tenure.  I know he isn't popular on here - but I don't think that's a view held by a lot of non-internet fans.   I just don't think it was entirely down to him that we got relegated - far from it.

  10. Could you ask why, when attendances are not much different to the end of last Season, so many car parks that were open last season are now closed?  Particularly those off Brookvale Road- Beau Crest being one and the Charity one which was running opposite there being another .   A heck of a lot of parking spaces have just gone this season making parking so much harder. I know the Charity one is probably nothing to do with Villa but Villa were officially operating the Beau Crest one last season.   Beau Crest was open again for a couple of games but then just  closed again.  Thanks

  12. Actually how I forgot this I don't know but I spent over an hour with Sir Graham in about 2002 I think it was - he showed me all round Bodymoor Heath (I had been interviewed for a vacancy - which I didn't ultimately get) but GT was honest in that he had already decided who to give it to and was so friendly and amenable.  Lovely man

  13. I thought it was great.   The singing was One Tim Sherwood etc and give us a wave - the he's one of our own was for Gregory - I did not hear that for Timmy.   I was near the front and Tim was right in front of us.  Gregory was in the centre of the pitch and was being interviewed by the QPR man - once finished, he got a rousing round of He's one of our own - so I would not say Sherwood got treated any better than JG .

  14. Not going to this one.   Last one I went to was I think a cup game - Blooz fans were tearing up their own seats and throwing them down on us as we walked out - horrible - another time, we were penned in the area outside the away entrance whilst bottles and coins were hurled in over the fence!    I just hope that when they come to our place, we do the same to them and keep them in for 30 mins -  because  on previous occasions, it is WE VILLA FANS that leave via Witton Lane who have been inconvenienced by being sent on an alternative route so we don't have to walk past  the away exit enabling THEM to get out nice and conveniently whilst the home support are greatly inconvenienced  !!   It was the same with Albion recently as well - us home fans inconvenienced and at Hawthorns, we also had to go on a long alternate walk -  so that when we go elsewhere, it is us, as away fans inconvenienced all the time.

    :-(

Just thought I wd requote my post from page101 now it is looking even more likely.  I am underwhelmed but while he manages us, he will have my full support I guess. Wonder who are the late big names who supposedly have applied (according to The Mirror)

  17. Coming in from the Witton side, there always seems to be lots of Villa fans at the Yew Tree on Brookvale Road and the Cap N Gown I think it's called right near the ground - although there seems to be a lot of loud music there but lots of Villa fans singing - you can hear them from some distance!
