  1. If Spurs beat Bolton on Saturday in the FA Cup he will be back arguing that statistically if you only include games on that Saturday, Spurs have a better recent record in the FA Cup than Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool combined.
  2. If you want to bet that Villa will finish higher than Spurs, then I'm up for a cash bet, provided it's not a silly sum of money. What amount did you have in mind? How about £50? If Villa finish higher then you make a donation to Acorns (our club charity) and if Spurs finish higher I will donate to Spurs official charity. Proof of donation to be posted on this thread. Deal?
  3. As I said above, FROM NOW ON I SHALL NOT BE RESPONDING TO ANY COMMENT OR QUESTION ABOUT ME PERSONALLY. Let's give this policy a short-hand: Not Relevant or NR for short. I shall occasionally repeat this 'NR' as appropriate, until either boredom sets in or postees decide they actually want to talk about football. It's your choice. I'll take that as a yes then unless you correct me. I've got a bet for you. Villa will finish higher than Spurs. The loser never posts on VT again. What do you think?
  4. Anyone who has been thrown off a Spurs site has done it themselves by seeking to: (a) sneak in under false pretences, with false motives and intentions. ( join a site that didn't want them, despite knowing the policy of that site I post here without seeking to tell lies about my allegiance, without seeking to break site policy and with a genuine interest in discussing football with rival fans. The ones who lack "cojones" are those who lack the guts to be open and honest. Moreover, I hear that at least one Villa fan temporarily gained access and posted a torrent of racist abuse before being thrown out. I don't know who that was, but I'm sure the Villa fan concerned does. I will ask you again, did you get Villa supporters from this forum banned from a Tottenham forum? Glaston, I think you missed the above question for the billionth time.
  5. He is just a toadier version of Daniel Levy. Glaston i'll ask you again. Did you or did you not get villa fans (who post on this site) banned from a spurs site? We already know the answer but just have the cojones to admit it.
  6. Two 5th places finishes, plus two Wembley appearances and a League Cup, all in the last 4 seasons, says otherwise. Those who live in glass houses .... Ok, let me explain again, as you clearly didn't get it the first two times I posted it. Every season you log onto our site, amongst other club sites, spouting on and on about how this season you will be top four, absolutely no doubt etc etc etc. Whilst "Two 5th places finishes, plus two Wembley appearances and a League Cup, all in the last 4 seasons, says otherwise" may be admirable for most teams in the prem, with the money your lot have pissed up the wall over the last god knows how many years it's laughable, and you still haven't finished top four, have you? Glass houses, what's that all about? I've never gobbed off that we're going to finish top four in any of the previous seasons. I like to think of us going quietly about our business, chairman, manager and fans alike, which is something that clearly doesn't happen at your place, what with the gobshite you have as a manager and the deluded fuckwits that frequent WHL. You were even questioning the business dealings of our club and chairman the other day on here, I mean, what the **** do you know about running a major premiership football club, and what's more, at a club you don't even support?! I can't wait for your lot to start playing shit again, that way I won't have to read your shite on here for a while, untill next season I suppose, when you'll pop back up spouting your bollocks again) Hope that clears things up for you. At least we know that when Spurs are shite he spends his time getting villa fans banned from spurs websites. Toad.
  7. Not to mention the other fans that got kicked off COYS. Come on Glaston, admit it.
  8. You do realise that non season ticket holders who went to Sunderland (on free travel) and will want to go to Blackburn (where they pay for their travel) will probably amount to less than 100 or 0.02% of the current 5000 ticket allocation?

    Indian Girls

Depends what you are after mate.... If you are looking for love then it will take a hell of a lot of effort on your part if her family are traditional. If you are looking for a bit of fun then just go out on Broad St or somewhere like Oceana in Chinatown and you will not fail to pull. A high percentage of asian guys are dicks when it comes to treating their girls well so a lot of Indian girls actually prefer white guys when it comes to dating.
  10. Should the John Carew song not be the one 40,000 people sing week in week out? John Carew, Carew He's bigger than me and you He's gonna score one or two John Carew
  11. We need to recycle the old Dwight Yorke song. How about a "team" version or a petrov version? team version Start spreading the news we're playing today I want to see us score again viiiiiiiilllaaa viiiiiilllaaa if we can score from there we'll score from anywhere its up to us villa, villla la la la la la la.
  12. Song for Zat Knight He's big, he's black his brother deals crack, Zat Knight, Zat Knight.
  13. Hi General, At one of the SCGs last season Richard Fitzgerald and Nicky Keye mentioned that Villa were looking at setting up a system similar to Chelsea and Man Utd where season ticket holders could sell on unwanted tickets at face value to other registered villa fans online. They said that it probably wouldn't be up and running anytime soon but could you update us on any progress?
  14. I think this was the asian youngster thing. The lad who won it was released after a season I think, maybe two at a push.
  15. Yawn. Backtrack to mid January when various villa sites were approaching meltdown because we hadn't signed anybody. Some thought the end of the world was nigh..... Then we signed Carew and Young. Have faith in MON and Randy as precedent suggests that they will deliver. Also we have approximately 3/4 weeks before preseason even begins.
  16. I would carry Tommy on my back to Manchester if it resulted in us signing Foster or Gordon or Boruc. IMO he is our 2nd weakest link after right back.
  17. Last season Reo coker was absolutely superb. Fair cop that he has been very poor this season. I just think that at £3m he would be worth a gamble because he could mature into the midfield general that we are crying out for. At the very least he would increase the quality in the squad.
  18. I think the problem has been that in the past many people used to pretend to be going into the ticket office earlier in the match day and then sneak off leaving their car in the car park. They would then pick it up after the game. Therefore the club introduced a zero tolerance policy.
  19. Judging by his reaction when he scored against us in the FA cup I sincerely doubt that Micah Richards is a Villa Fan. I was very impressed with Reo Coker when we played West Ham recently. I thought that he was their best player by a fair margin - despite his well documented problems. I would be extremely happy if we signed him. A young, talented ex England U21 captain with something to prove.
  20. All I can say on this is that I bought some tickets for some friends to come to the Chelsea game with me and they weren't selling them to anyone without booking history. I can only assume that the same sort of thing is being done for other games. The problem with this is that over the last couple of years the plastic mancs have identified VP as a guaranteed away game. Many of them have been buying tickets from VP for the last 4/5 years (for only one game!) and so have a booking history. I'm not sure if the booking system is intelligent enough to identify people who only book for the same game every year (see Liverpool also). The only way to really solve this is to increase our own number of season ticket holders (easily said i know) so less tickets are available on the "open market". In the short term an absolute no tolerance policy should be adopted imo. If a manc/scouser is identified in the home end they should be thrown out. Make them think twice about even trying to book again.
  21. Wrong, wrong wrong. Villa are claret body, blue sleeves, this is how it should stay. The previous regime got criticised for changing it, and with the new owners saying that they understand Villa's traditions, and respect them, the blue sleeves will hopefully stay. I'm not saying an all claret shirt won't look nice, but most importantly, it is not an Aston Villa shirt. You're probably right, and I admit it would change certain values. I am however looking for some change, at least the round badge/logo would improve the kit. If Nike got the job I am certain they would make something we would all be cherishing And Jez, I think most kit-makers would do a decent job. I wouldn't say Nike are known for making shirt of lesser quality. I often prefer Nike myself when buying training-equipment as it is ultra-comfortable, looks very nice and feels nice. Sure the price is a bit stiffer compared to certain alternatives, but that new breathing tech is very comfy. When running it never bothers you at all, and is absorbs sweat and moist just like that. Give the contract to Adidas or Nike. They will produce a comfortable "trendy" kit. a kit that people will want to wear because they think it looks good not because they support Villa. At the end of the day if we want to go global we need to be seen to be mixing it in the right company. And hummel and le coq bloody sportif is not it! If we eventually want to regularly challenge the likes of Man utd, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal then make no mistake that this will be financially built on the back of all of the gloryhunters that will start to follow villa. With regards to pricing it is one area that the past regime cannot be criticised. Season ticket prices cannot realistically go any lower. Buy some quality players and the seats will fill themselves.
  22. Good idea re the "family tickets" but I'm sorry at £500 for 2 adults and 2 kids you are having a laugh. Two adults on their own are about £900! I would suggest that about £1000 for 2 adults and 2 kids would be nearer the mark.
  23. Welcome to Aston Villa General! I echo all of the previous posts thanking you and the rest of the board for bringing back hope to Villa Park. The stifling stench of mediocrity from last season has already gone in such a short space of time. I hope that all of your efforts in engaging the fanbase are rewarded with an intelligent and clear dialogue and also with record half season ticket sales. At the end of the day that is what we need to get the attendances up to a consistent level where we can back Sir Martin and the team onto to glory. It may be a long and rocky road at times but your (and Randy's) actions so far have suggested that you will at least bear our thoughts in mind over the short and long term. If that dialogue continues Sir Martin, yourself and the board will by and large (As fans we will probably get upset about something sooner or later!) have our unswerving loyalty and respect. I cannot wait until you and the new board hear Villa Park at full throttle. Just wait until we get a European night, an important cup tie or god forbid a local derby against the unwashed down the road. Then you will hear the Holte end roar at full voice! There really will be no going back after that General. I have my final set of professional exams on the day of the Chelsea game. They finish at 5 so I had resigned myself to missing the Chelsea game. After reading all these posts I'm absolutely pumped so it might be a bit of a mad dash but i will get my tickets on the phone now! It would be great to say "welcome" in person. Come visit the fans in the Upper Holte at K3-R31-S79 when you get a chance. You never know we might welcome you officially with a villa rework of the Halls of Montezuma sooner or later!
