Really enjoying all these posts saying the squad is shit. Pretty obvious where the problem was - and he’s no longer at the club

I’d given up on Gerrard a while back, but I also started to doubt the abilities of the players.  Obviously today makes me look Gerrard level clueless and I’m extremely happy for that 😀

  2. I’d like to be ahead of the curve for once, so I just want to say the new manager has got no plan, he can’t coach, is tactically clueless, and we’ve got no pattern of play. Oh, and I’m sick of his press conferences already.

    New manager OUT.

Oh man, that was awful, I can't even be bothered to go into too much because I just thought it was that bad.

It looks alright, the dialogue is laughably bad at times, the film is boring and dull, the "twist" was ridiculous and poorly explained, the characters motives and/or decisions were ludicrous and nonsensical.

I reckon if you spliced this with Halloween Kills then you would probably get a decent movie out of it but after watching the whole trilogy, they should have just left it at Halloween 2018.

    Also LOL at Pennywise Myers

Yeah, it’s shockingly bad. A horrible, boring, mess of a movie. It’s almost like they didn’t really know what to do with it, and then just muddled through, before realising it was totally dire so dragged it along without much thought. Awful.

Myself and herself visited London earlier this year. Did the open top bus tour, London Eye, etc. Wife wanted to see the Palace instead of the Tate. We’d have visited London anyway, but instead of paying into the Tate we stood at some gates and looked at a man in a stupid hat. Economic loss for London, and was bloody boring.

So you paid for an open top bus tour that takes people around numerous tourist attractions including various royal buildings and usually Buckingham Palace. On a clear day, you can also see Buckingham Palace from the London Eye. And you went back to stand outside. You must really love Buckingham Palace mate! ;)

Proper “oomph” seriously? The instructions for the front three is, bunch together, don’t press  get in each others way don’t stretch the opponents .only attempt crosses that can’t beat the first man.  Say if we swapped our front 3 for the Fulham, Brentford or Leeds front three would we have more “oophm”??

Have you looked at the average position of the front three from last night? If that’s your idea of bunching together then have at it, but I’d disagree. Now I’m not saying it was good or that we were effective, but they weren’t bunched together. There was generally nothing on when we did go forward though. It was horrible.

I still think Gerrard should go but at the end of the day he's 100% not going to be sacked until next weekend at least now.

Yeah, Purslow won’t do anything now and I think that’ll have saved him for a bit longer. I’d go a tad further and say he’ll get two games at least.

    Conspiracy theory alert...

I wonder if SG hates us so much that he is determined to destroy us and get us relegated whilst picking up a large compensation when he gets sacked?

Nah, I’m sure’s he absolutely desperate to turn this mess around. I think the truly stressful thing at the moment for him will be that the Liverpool job is so far from reach,  it’s disappeared over the horizon. I reckon that must be really eating him up inside. So whilst I doubt he cares that much for Villa, I know he really cares about that Liverpool job.

I actually think we might even see some drastic action today in turns of team selection and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him finally drop McGinn.

  8. Poor.

Dedoncker is an okay signing, but maybe not in the context of the fact we had a whole summer to fill that position and this is what we ended up with.

Bednarek is purely a stop gap.

Kamara and Carlos are the only signings who are worth getting excited about but one is injured. Coutinho has either suddenly fallen off a cliff or is woefully out of form. I hope it’s only the latter.

The rest are just squad fillers.

Now all is said and done, I’m starting to doubt the idea that we have one of the best squads outside the stop six.

  9. He’ll be gone by Thursday. We’ll be two or three nil down by HT tomorrow night and the away fans will turn. That will then be that.

He’s currently 3/1 in the sack race. Free money if you ask me 🤑

Hiya Mark, we maybe need to have a chat at some point as I grew up with Tony and still DJ in clubs to this day. I have many stories to tell and am still in contact now with his Brother Andy. Will PM you if you like?

Did you ever meet Fergie? It was De Vit who tutored him and help kickstart his career.

I remember being out in Wobble and a good friend of mine at the time (we’ve lost contact over the years) brought over someone he knew to introduce them. The person in question was Fergie. If I remember correctly, he was still just playing warm up sets in one or two places at the time.

I followed his career for a while, but eventually became out of touch as I got older and more detached from the scene in general. It was this April that I suddenly became reminded of him. I was strolling along the Vegas strip and saw Fergie’s face and name up in lights to promote his residency at Hakkasan nightclub. What a career he ended up having.
