  1. Great Article, I just wanted to add really that things like the obvious Bodymoor Heath improvements, again demonstrating that the model provides the manager, and the academy with the best possible tools to do their jobs.
  2. Nice one, well i'll not pin all my hopes of our Right back weakness being filled by this young many then eh?
  3. He was class against Ronaldhino in the CL, and never looked out of his depth, he'd provide a great experience in defence and also is not afraid to push forward and put good crosses in. class signing to complment a McShane signing.... McShane looked more comfortable as a CB than a right back to me. Not seen much to be honest.... however from what i'd heard on here he was moved into RB, mind you if he's still young, no reason he can't be tutored by finnan? how come he looks more suited to CB? good in the air? as i said not seen much myself, whats his strengths and weaknesses?

  5. I'm pretty sure the players won't be training until pre season, which is sometime at the end of June I think? However the player’s registration does not effect where they can train or if they can play in friendly matches as it only affects them appearing in competitive games. Or so I understand?
  6. First of all our side was 11th this year yes, we started out with a team which was headed for relegation (apparently) started well and were hard to beat, the players ran out of steam, then lost a lot of confidence, and we had no back up to throw in there and shake things up, causing an awful slump, In january we added quality, and improved the team no end. after which we improved our form slightly before going on a 9 match unbeaten run, we were draw kings, it doesn't take much to turn those draws into wins, and those loses into draws.... remember not having a goal keeper at the club??? that doesn't help.... Now onto the teams in and around us..... Newcastle will get much better with Allardyce... - they may get better but ok, they will be harder to beat, my geordie mate doesn't think they will, the whole club needs the shake up we had when Randy took over..... its in the offing, but its still not gone through and sheppard is dragging his heels apparently.. Newcastle have payed massive wages in the past to get the players they want but they haven't been that successful so are on a level i feel with ourselves in trying to aquire players. To be honest i think it's a toss up between the two clubs. Manchester City will get better when the new ownership is done and Ranieri steps in... WHY?! i live in manchester, i had the pleasure of going there to see us turn them over, the only polayer with any passion, is leaving the shite hole. and the only other player with any ability was Ireland, and he's still far from the finished article, they MAY get money, but why do players choose them over us? i can't think of one reaseon? Everton, - No money FACT, my best friend works for them and is pissed off that they can't break the big four because they don't have the money to sign the best players.... Fernades (Spelling) worth every penny of 10 mil apparently, but they ain't got the cash to throw 10 mill on one player Tottenham - close to breaking top 4 and if they invest again this year you never know.... Portsmouth - Muntari club record signing i hear, seen him on FM, but that means nothing in real life, seen him in the world cup, looked good, they've signed a good player.... we'll see if they can sustain it, but i don't feel they hold anything over villa in regards attacting players... West Ham will be up there... Why? they were a joke last year, Tevez will not be with them, they have ashton coming back, and even though NRC is still there, Ashton is the only player i'd take. also rans.... Blackburn feels a little bit difficult to decide on how they will go... they got lucky with McCarthy, will he still be there come august, maybe but i doubt it. they have a shit ground, and shit fans, the training facilities aren't anything on BH, if its between us and them, we win. Reading and Bolton - tough ones could go either way.... i imagine Reading will have a tougher time this year, and bolton might not be the team they once were, but again you never know. but to get to my point, only to my knowledge Portsmouth have actually signed any one from the above teams.... so why are we worried that the player pool we are looking at is getting smaller. Newcastle have bid 8.5 for parker, he's talking to them, who cares, Young was allowed to talk to Spammers in Jan, where did he end up? personally i'd prefer not to take parker, as my geordie Season ticket holder friend thinks he's useless, he wants barton - so what does that tell you....?

    Pride

Great post PB. we have our football club back and boy am I proud to bea small part of it. I hope that little Boy sees many more days just like Wednesday, and i'm sure he will!
  8. Agreed, I'd like him to have the opportunity to play for us in the future, but just not now. I'd also love barton but i don't feel its realistic this window, however a good push up the table in the last 14 games and he can be a real target in the summer, we may however find ourselves in a battle for his signature in the summer though. but i'm sure i've heard that he's happy at city until the end of the season at least....
  9. Simply because he is a popular transfer target and maybe we can work out a good deal now that he is injured. When he recovers I am pretty sure he will be heading to a big team in Spain or Italy. That is if we dont snap him up now. How do you know this? i take it there have been links to these big teams in this transfer window? if so why were we favorites not so long ago? or if this is speculation, why would 5 months out with a knee injury have alerted the big teams to his availability? i mean they would have hardly baulked at the 2.3 mil price tag i remember reading? but no doubt i'm way off not being in the loop?
  10. He isnt? You know a lot about his injury? No mate, i don't know much about his injury at all, but there is always a risk, the knee could be weak from now on, there can be many complications to any injury. even with physio being what it is today, nobody is gaurenteed a full recovery. All i'm saying is, if he can't play for us NOW, why should we buy him NOW, when we can leave him on the other clubs wage bill await his recovery, sure summer time comes along and he's fit, sign him up if thats what the manager want's but why pay for his recovery when we don't need to
  11. I know, but we can still buy him cant we? Really hope there will be some activity tomorrow or tonight... We need midfielders. What would be the point? It would satisfy our lust for transfers sure but he can't actually play, so why risk him being a long term Crock just because we want some one in? he's not gaurenteed to recover fully...
  12. I agree, it wouldn't be dropping Sorenson, however I doubt that, Isaksson would want to be warming our bench just as much as he doesn't want to be warming city's, we have at least a year or two of sorenson on his game, let Isaksson have a year or two in city's first team, get a run of games, then he'll be right for us when we come a calling, i don't have complete confidence in Taylor, but he's not a bad back up.
  13. I've been asking the Citeh fans at work why Isaksson isn't starting, they're all ST holders, they all seem to believe Weaver is in the form of his life so Pearce won't drop him, but then again what do they know, they're citeh fans... mugs. Not sure i'd want to upset Sorenson, in my eyes he's been quality for us since he signed with only a few drops in performance, he's kept us in a fair few matches over his time with us, and he can still do a good job for us for the forseeable future, although i agree Isaksson has promise, i'd rather let him stay at citeh and improve there before we come in for him when we need him more.
  14. Has this happened that Arsenal sold him? He looks quick and seem to have good technical skills... From Wiki, His performances in an Arsenal shirt were inconsistent; despite highly impressive performances against Reading and also scoring against Doncaster in the Gunners' 2005-06 Carling Cup run, he arguably struggled against stronger opposition. On 31 January 2006, he signed for Russian club Spartak Moscow for around £1.45m. He is only 20 maybe he's bulked up a bit, seems to have his troubles though, released from Ajax because of it... Wiki
  15. for what its worth Vincenzo Iaquinta would be the dogs danglies he big strong and fast what more can you ask for? 8.5 mil erm yes please he's got more experience than bent and he's 27, thats at least 5 more years at the top level, with his strength and hight he doesn't need the pace that age will make him lose!
  16. what the????? i'd agree though Crouch step backwards, it ain't gonna happen, MON was at the world cup he knows crouch can't cut it, he's very one dimensional.... if i was liverpool and newcastle offered me 10Mil + for him i'd rip their arm off! bye bye crouchy
  17. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I had a call today from the club, asking if i was a villa fan, i gave her games i'd been too but they were unsure as i'd only purchased for Reading so far this season (other people had booked for Charlton and Middlesboro) however they were able to track my booking back to 1998 so as long as you've been times before and can prove your a villan you should be fine, oh my other problem was i have a manchester postcode, obviously a bit sus.....
  18. How old is he, He's certainly Strong as a Bull, and quick too but how old is he? and he looks pretty selfish, his overall end product, i.e crosses looked awful?
  19. I think Smith is a Quality forward so much so he'd be able to accomodate any position in the Villa forward line aswell as a bit of bite if needed in Midfield, He's not been prolific for Utd but hasn't he mostly been playing in midfield of late? During Leeds' champions league campaign didn't he do quite well? its been a while i can't quite remember, but i'm sure there was a 5-0 drubbing in which he scored a hatrick? I think he'd be a sound aquisition and a statement of things to come. As for Darren Bent, Yes Please, but i only think one forward is needed with our personel, whoever we get and whatever position they cover i'm delighted we're going to be looking forward, not filling gaps while there is money, with Martin and Randy making the decisions!!
  20. Great Front article, talk about a rallying cry, come on Villa do one over these scumbags!
  21. Samaras is quality we could do with him he's by far city's best forward
  22. Its the wrong company. You need this Yeah I know.... I just wondered what that was!!! Sorry Chief! Erm, I don't know, maybe something that was setup for the takeover? Listing date 14 August 2006 what day was the Bid that was the 14th wasn't it?
  23. FFS why do certain people think this and why are the mail reporting it. Something good, positive, exciting and people are still trying to stop it from happening things like this keep reminding me of that bill hicks quote that keeps being posted on here pretty much sums it up! FEAR....... Feel the love people feel the love, i love you all!
  24. Just a quick question, say there are no more bids and on wednesday he picks up the 58% and after the 21 days is up he hasn't got the full 75% then what surely if he hasn't had the answers back from some he can re offer? i'm not sure he's gonna just walk away is he?
