What numbers do Okore, Helenius, Bacuna and Tonev have?
I'm not being negative by the way, I just think the likes of Bowery should be taking these matches with both hands to show us what they can do.
Okore #3, he wears this for Denmark a lot,
Helenius #9,
Bacuna #7, wore this number at previous club
Tonev #24 wore this at previous club too
Steer #13, makes sense GK
Luna #14, he's already confirmed he will be wearing this number next season, which is why i think these numbers carry weight
Herd 28, Gardner 29, Carruthers 30

it is bad that i got excited just because the players have been given squad numbers? i mean i know they aren't official yet but that looks roughly like what i'd expect to see. always like to see the new squad numbers

I've had a bit of an issue with a girl recently. I want to make it clear that I don't consider myself a cocky guy; quite the opposite. the problem I have is that despite liking her, I have this fear that if we start to get closer then another girl will come along who I prefer and I'll be "stuck" with the first girl. this probably sounds completely mad but I feel like a bit of a t0sser telling a friend or someone because I presume the reaction "who the f**k do you think you are"

I hope were careful with this guy we could end up destroying his football career
For him to lead the line next season is a massive ask we need another striker and bed this guy in gently
If Benteke are sold AV needs to buy a replacement. Helenius is not ready to be in the starting eleven. Helenius need to spend some more time in the gym in order to pull on some more muscles. Helenius is very determined and focused, but it´s a huge step coming from the danish Superliga to Premier League. Okore on the other hand will probably be a key player in the defence from day one. Okore is big and strong and technically gifted. In his first season at AV I guess Helenius might get a few appearances in the PL as a substitute. Given time Helenius might develop into a very good striker, but he certainly needs time to adjust to PL.
Aalborg haven´t yet bought a replacement after Helenius were sold. To be honest our attack is awful without Helenius and everyone really hope that the club soon signs a decent replacement. It´s not easy finding another striker as Aalborgs economy is very bad (very different from Okores former club
FC North Zealand which in the moment almost are signing a new player each day).
Aalborg soon plays the first game of the new season. Next thursday they are playing in the second qualifying round of the Europa League. Aalborg have been drawn against FC Dila Gori from Georgia (Stalin were born in Gori). Last year FC Dila Gori knocked another danish team (Aarhus) out of the competion so it´s certainlly going to be two very difficult games.
Who do Aalborg fans want to replace Helenius? is there anyone you are linked with?

i know you can't read into videos too much but here is a video of Hosiner for arguments sake.
-
Finnbogason would be a great replacement imo, i would also say a great player that is a perfect fit is Phillip Hosiner. top scorer in the Austrian league last league, i believe he's friends with Weimann, similar age to him and they've been on international duty together. quick, scores goals for fun, would be cheap wages and transfer fee imo. ahh man hope we get this guy! i think we broke the all-time record for the most goals scored in 1 season in the league and he still seems to be an unknown, played 3 times for Austria and has already got 2 goals. SIGN HIM UP LAMBERT
-
Definitely, Charlie Austin, i reckon he could step up.
definitely not Charlie Austin for me. watched him a lot before he moved to Burnley, my stepdad is a Swindon fan and lived in Swindon before he moved in. Looked like a great player in league 1 and i expected him to move up the leagues but he wouldn't fit in with our playing style imo and if we changed our playing style i would hope it would be for the sake of Weimann, Helenius and the like. Austin isn't going to get a lot better than he is and i would say right now he's a poor mans Weimann

When i come on this forum i am glad to see a lot of people who are being logical and using sense in this situation. I didn't come on here till late last night and some of the stuff going on Twitter was mind-blowing. here's my two pennies on some of peoples comments
One-season wonder: He's only had 1 premier league season so he has no way to prove he isn't that. Anyone who's watched him regularly, which the majority on here have, will know that he can be unplayable on occasions and consistently better than the rest of the team. His has natural raw talent and will only improve.
"you were nothing before Villa": I think this is a poor argument because it is clear to everyone just how good he is. Yes we were willing to take a gamble, yes we gave him his Premier League chance. But i think he was going to the top no matter what with ability like that, it was just a case of how long and which way he'd do it. He was starting up front and scoring for one of the best International teams out there.
Loyalty: The same loyalty Bent showed after Sunderland got his career back on track, the same Loyalty Lambert showed after Norwich gave him his chance and backed him all the way to the Premier League. He called us a stepping-stone right from the off, this was always going to happen he never pretended he was going to be loyal to us, i think the only thing that shocked the majority (including me) was that we didn't think it would only be one season, maybe he'd stay 2, play a World Cup, his value would dramatically increase and everyone would accept the inevitable.

Is this the rose-tinted MotD Benteke who scores with every shot and is never offside, or the real one who miscontrols 80% of balls played to him before blazing 90% of what he does control into row Z? Another over-hyped, massively over-payed egotist believing his own positive press.
dont know where these people are getting their opinions from

Is Pokemon welcome here? i was never really a fan of the pokemon anime, i always hoped they would do a darker, more grown-up version, but got to admit that i have been hooked to the newest regions series. Some of the interactions between characters is clever and bringing back old characters is interesting. I think it only really stems back from being obsessed with the J-RPG's from the 90's up till now without any hesitation on whether to buy the newest games.
Never really given other animes a try but i might try reading manga, and giving anime a try but i don't know where to start really?

Lots of hipsters or just generally more unknown music lovers in here! will be sat for hours listening to a lot of it hoping to find something i like
Anyway hope some of you will like this, they made an album, it did well, they've been touring but decided to split up and won't be making any more music, a great shame imo they have a Bastille-esque vibe to them

he put up a hilariously badly photo-shopped picture of himself on the phone, i think it's just someone mucking about seeing how much of a following he can get

i would say neither dying nor death scare me, i don't get afraid of much really, i'm not looking to achieve a great deal in life, i just want a job that pays the bills and gives me a bit extra on top, a girlfriend/wife/kids would be nice when the time comes. The thing i fear most is cancer, i was very close to my mothers parents and they both died pretty long, painful deaths because of it, if i had to go through something like that i don't think i'd be strong enough
For those that are so chilled out have you experienced a close call?
Couple of months ago i was driving home late and went round a corner a bit too quick in the rain, got flung off the road then right across the road and off the other side straight towards a fairly solid tree, then a telephone pole, miraculously avoided both just and went down into the ditch. It is worth pointing out that i drive a classic mini so the crumple zone was roughly the length of my legs. As i was going towards the pole i was just thinking "this is it" and i wasn't frightened or anything, i think it was just adrenaline keeping me in it. i think once i knew i wasn't dying the main concern was how i was gonna tell my mum tbh!

Unfortunately this is turning into Bannan part 2, where i want this confirmed to not be happening by tonight to get Julie to shut up

Just xant see the guy joining us, the whole thing seems to have been born on VT, but I think we might be in for Eremenda from Rubin Kazan, wages a stumbling block but I can see it happening before August if we can get round that
-
Apparently Luna has taken the number 14 shirt, don't know if any of the others have got theirs yet

i've seen this guy mentioned on various topics and he was linked with us but can't find the topic about him, anyway, he looks set to sign for a league 1 or championship club, so maybe he's not quite what some thought he was?
-
I'd actually forgotten he was still with us. I doubt very much whether Lambert rates him.
Lambert Houllier and McLeish have all given him a good go in the team, he only left the 1st team picture cos of injury, and he was straight back on the bench after injury against Wigan. I think Lambert likes him.
have a friend who happens to be a Lincoln fan, I didn' know they existed till he told me, but anyway he said when herd Baker and lichaj were on loan with them, herd was the one they all liked the most, and they thought all 3 of them tried hard but ultimately Baker was too slow and lichaj didn't seem up to much. Obviously thi. Is a long time ago so theyve all developed since but he still reckons it's herd that will do the best
-
I'm really pissed off about something I shouldn't be.
What?
Just wondering whether the injury that kept him out all season will have completely cleared up by July 1st? i mean will he even be in full training will all the other lads when pre-season gets underway?
-
reading through the guys twitter and interviews he seems an absolute legend. already my favourite player at the club i hope so much that he actually turns out to be good
EDIT: mind you if he turns out to be a Salifou i will probably love him just as much
-
sounds a good prospect but lambert must had sold it to him that he is either going out on loan to play 1st team, or that he stands a serious chance of taking Guzans spot in goal. As a young promising player i am presuming he decided to leave, rather than was not offered a new contract, so why come to a club where your position will be similar? Either Lambert is great at selling the club or there is an aspect of this transfer that benefits him,
-
Sounds like he's been sacked - club must have good reason. Maybe he was the guy who failed the supposed drugs test. I wonder would the club take it any further if that is the case - like Chelsea did with Mutu.
Wasn't one of the VT posters pretty close to Ireland? Be interesting to hear his take on things.
GaztonVilla I think, who incidentally has been very quiet over the past 12-18 months unless I've missed his posts entirely........
GaztonVilla - wrote a very heartfelt post in a new thread he created basically saying how he has grown to hate football and has decided to no longer be an Aston Villa supporter.
It was all a bit weird and emotional - not posted since.
Just reading through all this and you reminded me. i had not long joined the site at the time but i remember reading he was close to Ireland so thought there might be a chance of inside scoops. Then that Thread got started and it was all very dark and weird, didn't enjoy seeing it at all
Oh I missed that, had no issue with Gazton at all.
Out of interest, did Gazton have previous posting history on here pre-Ireland signing? Putting 2 & 2 together and coming up with 7 leads me to wonder if they were one and the same person........would certainly tie in with a strange and emotional outburst!
I had no problem with him either just didn't enjoy reading such a post. Nothing against him just didn't make pleasant reading

I flicked through quickly, so couldn't see if it had been discussed, but is there anyone else who thought that the sonic boom over the midlands last year was a pretty poor attempt at a cover-up? my dad is very much into conspiracies and he was talking to me about it, doesn't live in this area, and said there had been many sonic booms that have happened over manchester area, scotland, this one over the midlands, and a few by the coastline and over the french channel. if it is banned and not supposed to be happening, why does it keep occuring?!
I listened to 5 live straight after it happened and nothing, wasn't on midlands today or main news, and was covered on BBC WM but coverage stopped rather abruptly after an hour or 2. They rang someone initially from Birmingham international who said the sonic boom that occured couldn't have been created by any aircraft they knew of, but 3 hours later?? it was the RAF that did it, in an aircraft.
Have never been able to get this one out my head would be interesting to see if anyone else feels this could be something?

just found this whilst randomly clicking youtube links on the side and even though it's not normally my sort of thing i have to say it's so well done.
