  1. Poch at PSG. Interesting to see how he might play with us. Bit worrying he does the "bomb squad" thing but that aside I would be happy if he gets the job,

Tuchel (trigger warning caution Rio Ferdinand)

Has Poch actually come out and said no or is this pure speculation from Ornstein and Co?

Its just speculation. from the same people who told us Gerrard wasnt going to be sacked before the world cup. Poch and Tuchel are still very much possibilities as of today,

Any even slightly credible news on the manager front?

Nope. The only actual news we have is Frank pretty much ruling himself out (which I am happy about). Everyone else is in play and your guess is as good as anyone's.

They won't rule themselves out publicly, why would they? A couple of credible reporters (Ornstein, Law) have written Pochettino was approached and said no, that's enough for me.

Its not good enough for me. We will find out soon tho!

    We couldn’t convince Poch
    We couldn’t convince Tuchel

    If we can’t convince Emery
Then for me it Amorim, and My mind cannot be changed regardless of what people think of the Portuguese league.

We have zero evidence of this btw. Just the same ITK's who were telling us Gerrard was not going to be sacked till at least the world cup.

Every name is in play right now till we hear from the managers concerned that they are ruling themselves out.

The top clubs appoint managers without Prem experience all the time. Guardiola, Klopp, Tuchel, Conte, Mourinho, all were appointed by top clubs in the Prem without having worked in England before. Why can they do it?

    Fair points.

I don't like to think of things through a national filter like that, personally. Maybe I'm too much of an anglophile. I don't know. I'll be gutted if we settle for Amorim or Dyche, but it's not b/c Dyche is British, it's because he's boring. And Amorim is actually pretty boring, too. Either would signal for me that we genuinely aren't putting into action all that "Global Villa" rhetoric, and it's all just a branding and corporate makeover, not a serious effort to improve the club.

I am British , I confess I am bigoted against the current crop of British managers. Sadly I think our British  coaches are of far lower quality than British players.

but sure if there was a modern day clough or Ferguson i woudl be all over it. I just dont see such a figure right now. If we had to have a british manager then dean Smith is the best candidate. As middling/ decent as Howe / Dyche but knows the club and players. I think Deano would be a step backwards mind.

Nor really. Top level experience important. The question is how good is the Portuguese league? Pretty much a 3 horse race every signing so risky as hell.

Agree 100% Didnt Gerrard go unbeaten at Rangers? Anyways he had a very good record. The PL is simply a very different league. We would be rolling the dice massively to hire another manager who was new to our league.

You are more than welcome to take the smarmy little creep but you will regret it in a couple of years..

Convinced me he is not the right man for the job,. I have been a Rodgers guy for a while but this is a common comment from Leicester fans. We would be foolish to ignore their experience. We didnt listen to Rangers fans and look where that got us.
