Any official comments from the club yet?

If not, there's not much point wailing and gnashing teeth.

Or have I missed anything in the last three hours?

Only my view but surely this suggests if offer was made it has not been out right rejected.

Supposedly we bid for JWP and saints rejected it.

This could be a case of 100mil on table await jack return on Monday offer new contract and see what he wants ( crazy when he has 4 yrs on old contract left)

Bailey ain't signing if Grealish goes. Absolutely no chance.

I 100% agree and this could mess up all the other quality players we have listed.

Realistically we could lose jack and have to lower the level of player we try sign because losing your star man might just put a few targets off joining.

However if he was to stay we will power on.

  3. Guys on a serious note let's say NSWE authorise the sale of jack I think as fans we must be respectful to the guys who saved us and trust them to rebuild stronger.

I say this with regards to bad relations from some potential fans towards the owners.

It's not unrealistic if this jack situation gets ugly that the owners say sod it this is not the way to be treated.

I know it's a big if but in the past we have not always agreed with board room decisions.

just get grealish to bodymoor, half an hour of laughing his ass off with mcginn he'll realise he doesn't want to go anywhere and then Wes, Purslow and Nassef will just start writing obscene numbers on a blank contract, before you know it bobs your uncles, fannys your aunt, and agent mcginns wearing a chicken suit

I think this matter needs sorting before Monday. I know Jack has holiday and not due back until Monday but this whole matter of is he staying or going is time critical.

Request he attends bodymoor heath and thrash this out one way or the other and then get on with plans for new players incoming.

I trust NSWE so much that I know they will be prepared for all possibilities. Plans will be in place either way. No way will they just panic and wing it.

My main concern is this situation holding up our preparation for new season.

Didn't villa want business done early, we just cannot have this delay every summer regarding signings, it's beyond funny.

  6. Just seen Rob Dorsetts reporting on ssn this dosnt look like it's barely started.

I totally understand that city wouldn't go straight in at 100mil but would play a slowly slowly approach but they must realise we have no need to sell so its pay up or walk away.

I can see an offer coming in within next few days to test the water possibly starting at 85mil and then play it accordingly.

Imo City have so many attackers grealish will want regular football which he will get but not 90minutes every week.

City will guarantee trophies plus a big payrise but he will effectively not have the big fish tag like he's used to. Any drop in form and he's immediately under pressure from those around him.

For me I want him to stay and carry on the project the owners have.

If he has any doubts he should take a look at matt le tissier and Steven Gerrard they both came close to moving to big clubs but decided against it and both have said they had zero regrets.

Your dream was to play for Aston Villa your boyhood club and also play for England you've achieved both, domestic  trophies are achievable at the Villa and if all goes to plan Europe could be in the near future so make sure your passport dosnt run out.

I’m half-serious that £100m is far too much money for an injury-prone player with four years left until he’s 30. Is he worth £25m a year I don’t know.

I think a case of better the devil you know.

Jack's shins are a concern and I 100% agree 100mil is great money but I just don't think this season our squad could afford to lose his talents.

If the owners carry on building there could be a day when both parties decide its best but I for one think jack on his day is unplayable and would rather have him with us than against us.

Not sure anyone has mentioned this but even if the owners were contemplating letting Jack go whether or not they would pull the plug based on the division in the fan base and potential backslash. The last thing they will want is a disgruntled fan base straight after lockdown and following such a positive season previously. I'm not sure they will want to take that hit to moral just yet?

Very good post villa park could be back to full last thing we need is jack leaving, replacements not signed and we start badly, things could toxic.
