£33m. One good season in the Championship. Hogan had one good season in the championship. As did Rudy Gestede.

That’s just insane money. They’d better really hope this one pays off. Brentford have properly pulled our pants down here. Can we really not scout for a better striker outside of Brentford?

This is football suicide imo and will be why we get relegated 44mil so far on championship players is pathetic. At that sort pf money we should.get somone that has played at highest level. YET AGAIN we are in the Young with potential marlet great in terms of business if sold on but will not work Football clubs need quality players this is what we are lacking.

  2. The villa yet again going for young and hungry prospects brilliant if you want to make a profit but if they think last season wasnt a stroke of luck this season we will reap what we sow very unlikely we will get away with it again.

Smith saying dosnt want a repeat of luiz situation pretty much leans towards british based players. 14 day quarentine for most european league players who could come in.

Id stick a cheeky bid for ings id pay 40mil aswell hes the type we need someone who can score goals in premiership.

  3. Just seems crazy so many pages for nothing. My opinion which not worth alot is if Rashica or his agent do not decide by next friday tell him to jog on. Villa is a huge club if hes desperate for leipzig let him wait for them we have a new season where we must hit the ground running.

  4. Ok guys and girls wishlist for signings. Mine are the following all big league experience. For me we need players from either the Premiership, la liga, bundesliga or serie A.

    Paitek

Frank Kessie or Hakan Cahanoglu ( milan)

    Nikola milenkovic

    Benhrama

    Mitrovic

    Just my wishlist

  5. Heard a rumour smith commented that watford were expected to.win against Norwich and then commented something along the lines of " Its still in our hands" surely he hasnt said that when its 100% not the case we would need results to.go our way and win games. Neither is likely lol

    Not sure if you’re serious?

Owners saved us from the brink, invested as much as they could and we’re 16th and in a cup final.

You should be on your knees thanking them.

My point is if we cant get any players in why get rid of players we need depth kodj ad Chester both out of contract in summer keep then aand jota if we simply cant afford anyone as some implying id have all 3 over no one. Someone mentioned injuries if and i say if we had pivotal players injured with current injuries we simply wont cope.

  7. Wowsers what a horrible window this has been weve literally stood still heaton mcginn wes injured kodj sold chester loaned and in we have reina samatta and drinkwater. Hope the board brpught some tin hats because if this goes to sh*t they will know about it. Huge gamble was it worth it time will tell.

When is McGinn back? A month and a half or 2 months?

What I'm thinking is he could actually cover or occupy a place in the front 3 in place of either Trez or El Ghazi, Hell, I wouldn't put it past McGinn to be able to cover as Wingback!

Drinkwater should be up to speed also.

Let's be honest, if McGinn was fit during our striker crisis, we really could have even used him as a striker.

Think hed be class as a makeshift striker centre halves will know they been in a game

  9. One striker in shows the fine margins we get one who has ability then good window well stocked in most areas dont get a striker then samatta and davis fire us to safety. This season hangs in the balance more importantly if zero striker the  grealish needs to stay fit even more than he did before. Will be a huge slog.

Still a long way to go in the season, and I would suggest that, rather than being likely to go down, even if we do not get any more players this window, we are still more likely to stay up.

Hope your right mate just a huge concern and massive gamble not getting full reinforcments in we need them smith knows this aswell.

  11. We should of rolled the dice earlier took a risk. Regardless of what may happen if we went down huge cash from jack mcginn and mings to help rebuild im not saying we should of spent 100m this window but having sellable assets we should of had a go and got what we needed and we havent therfore if we dropout of league villa have no one to blame but the management heirachy. If we had zero assets i could understand but only hope jack will  stay is in prem which without strengthening squad we wont do.

I can’t decide to be happy or not with our transfers based on whether we get enough points to stay up.

    Many reasons, too many really.

    But to take just one.

I’m sick and tired of following a Club that lives one Season to the next. Sick and tired of stop gap players, last pay day players, random players. Sick and tired of starting again, then again, then again.

So One - one - of the reasons I’d be happy is because I see sense in the signings. A plan, of sorts. Imperfect, but it’s there.

Another is that we would definitely have gone down without our transfer business. So it’s put us in the game. For a newly promoted team I can’t ask for more than that.

Another is I won’t criticise something about which I have no knowledge of fault on anyone’s behalf.

    So there’s a few reasons 🙂

Great post the building again and again if failiure to stay up due to striker shortage this group leave in summer if we fail to stay up.

    Heaton,guilbert,targett,mings,mcginn,grealish,luiz,marv,samatta,trez,

All will leave imo total rebuild required. So ladies and gentlemen would it not have been better to splash the cash to the tune of 75mil ish knowing grealish will be gone regardless what league were in mcginn and mings dependent on staying in prem.

  13. I think we will see louie barry in 1st team due to davis picking up a knock. Rooney and owen started games at a very young age think are hand will be forced to put him in due to zero cover upfront. We need another striker as a matter of urgency. I think tekkers on loan late deal

If wes was fit and we didn't sign a striker would people be happy?

Most knew we needed a forward when wes was fit. We've replaced wes but are still really short there.

Wes (fit) samatta davis as strikers then yes imo 2 strikers is not enough wes had too many games failing with zero competition failiure in performance should not be rewarded with still being picked.

Making signings in January isn't easy ESPECIALLY if you're constrained by FFP. Rodgers said they can't afford to buy anyone at Leicester the other day. People think this a video game.

Then keep kodj then let his contract run out he was given zero chances not like wes 12 games zero goals. A forward line choice of samatta davis and kodj if not signing anyone is better thsn just samatta and davis.

Premiership safety is at risk playing a winger or attacking mid is not good as main focal striker if samatta or davis gets injured then we will not survive and we all know it. Back 3 has been immense since switch but lacking depth knowing you have to score goals due to defence condeing or prone to errors is the concern.

Dropping out of prem due to not gaining sufficent reinforcements once summer comes smith will need a brand new squad because all assets will be sold and some wont stay.

It's not Football Manager. January sucks. We don't want back up on 4 year contract and we probably financially restricted from FFP. That leaves trying to get player player agent selling club to agree. We tried hard for Slimani apparently but there terms were a deal breaker

Get a grip football manager we knew what we needed have we got the personel required NO and we have had plenty of time.
