I think our ex players are getting a bit carried away.
Salifou will be throwing his hat in the ring soon.
lol
Salifou is probably teamed up with Lord Lucan and Shergar by now!

Would bring excitement, media, and sponsorship opportunities too imo.
And a couple of thousands added to the attendances IMO

If it's as close as people are making 'its a done deal' etc he wouldn't be with Belgium....
Lol...they are still paying him! Of course he will be with Belgium until asked/told otherwise! He can't just up sticks and walk off the training ground....if he did he, the signs wouldn't be too good would they?

If he is with Belgium I doubt he is coming.
We really have no idea do we
Of course he is with Belgium...they are paying him after all!

What did he say?
Amazing club, amazing fans...well renowned etc....basically all the things you would expect someone to say when they are about to join us! Well that's the way I'm reading it!

Pep and Wenger are hardly what I would call top class defensive organisers
Pep doesn't need to organise a defence...he simply outscores the opposition...and we'll be doing that too with Henry in charge!

I'm not suggesting there are no alternatives. Far from it. I'm interested in what your alternatives might be though.
PS - Rodgers doesn't fancy it. Now what?
I didn't fancy Rodger's either....dodged bullet IMO

FFS....we simply have to go down 'a very different' route than the one we've been on recent years. We have failed miserably on the so called 'tried and trusted' route.....it's time for change so let's give it a go!
"Fortune favours the brave".....so let's do it, just do it!

Well i guess he has played against a few, so he might recognise a good one, when he see's it.
are you serious......we have just presided over 10 years of experienced managers signing lumps of poo.....we have spent millions on players worse than what we had, we have let go of players better than what we signed.
We have had rakes of managers unable to get us to do the basic things, we have spent fortunes on compensation for experienced managers.
we are not a training course for a high profile wannabee manager.......we are in deep shit sitting at 15th in the league unable to secure a win, after signing 10 years or so managers who at the time seemed sensible decisions.....we are engulfed in FFP through in the main signing players that have not turned out to be effective for us.
our model is broken.
lets try a new approach.
Agree 100%

Perhaps he may have an assistant who knows a thing or two about defence, coupled with a modern scouting system. He won’t have to do the half time oranges and take the kit home to wash.
They don't wash their own kit....overpaid and pampered?

Seems like my 'conspiracy' theory was not too wide of the mark!
"Is this why Henry turned down the Bordeaux job (allegedly) and why Terry didn't take the Russian move"
NOT itk but I do like a good conspiracy ....make of that what you will!

I wonder if Brendan Rogers would have been so quick to rule himself out if he didn’t pretty much believe that the job was going to be filled by Henry.
I recall Martinez “turning us down” when betting had been suspended on Moyes being our next manager. Hope this doesn’t fail at the last hurdle like that did.
Everything I back falls at the first hurdle!

I like that a lot - we'll be bringing in loads of young spanish types - Villa's gonna get all spainy
Looking at his CV....he doesn't seem to stay in a job for too long!....should that worry us unduly?

Reports saying 2 mill per year salary.
And a tank full of petrol to keep his Renault Clio on the road!....bargain IMO

Someone go and have a look on JT's Instagram and see if he's left us a clue!

Does anyone think that this was always the plan? Hence the reason why Henry (allegedly) turned down the Bordeaux job and Terry turned down the move to Russia?

This is a reservation I have too. On the video of him analysing the Barcelona game he continuously states "trust your teammate to get the ball to you" ..... I fear our team won't be able to do what he wants them to do. But... I'd like to see a manager come in and try. Can't wait to see how we play in a few months, will either be spectacular or a disaster.
You make a fair point...see Zola at SHA as a good example!

Could this be the real reason JT turned down the move to Russia....maybe this link up has been on the cards for some time?

As anyone checked the odds on the 'dynamic duo' being appointed? If so, is it worth a punt?

Normal clubs are for the 'old school's managers.....we need to be better than normal and embark on an exciting new adventure....things have moved on greatly, on so should we!
