I'm with everyone else... Brian Doogan would surely feed the info to BBC/SSN before the Norwegian press? Not only that but there are NO actual quotes from ANYONE regarding this. SSN's also reported that Solksjaer had turned us down before and got it completely wrong only for other journalists to follow suit. I'm hoping this is the situation with Solksjaer for the pure fact that if we don't get Lambert or Martinez...we're ****! I imagine Brain Doogan probably said (if anything) "There has been no offer made for Ole and he has a family to think about" and it's got lost in tranlation (again!) For me, I think it's between OGS, Lambert and Martinez. Out of those, I REALLY want OGS. I think if the fans give him 2-3 years and NOT jump on his back he can do a great job for us. WHOEVER takes over, the first season will be the most difficult, just hope the fans give them time.

Like Tito Vilanova you mean? Less experience than OGS and wasn't even a good footballer. Additionally, exactly what did Pep Guardiola do before he was Barca manager? Not trying to compare the 2, but there's nothing wrong with taking a bit of a gamble. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for OGS but the difference here is that Guardiola inherited a very good Barcelona team whereas our squad is a shambles at the minute!

Alan Hutton and Gabby HAVE to be dropped. Weiman and Heskey work well off each other, Weiman is always looking for the flicks. Hutton is poor, the only decent thing he did today was fist the ball over the bar, his delivery is poor as is his play overall. We could either put Lichaj as right back and move Warnock back to LB or put Cuellar RB with Collins in the middle. We also need proper wingers on the pitch and that creativity in the middle. Ireland and Herd in the centre with Albrighton and NZogbia on the wings. Yes, they both haven't looked great this season but one moment of genius could be all we need and they are outright wingers looking to run with the ball - we really don't have many others options. I hope to see for our remaining games: GK: Given DL: Lichaj DR: Cuellar DC: Dunne DC: Collins MR: Albrighton ML: NZogbia MC: Herd MC: Ireland FW: Heskey ST: Weimann Guzan, Warnock, Clark, Baker, Carruthers, Bannan, Agbonlahor This summer we need to strengthen and I hope Lerner sees the danger we are currently in. I could be way off the mark here but I think his contract was due to expire at the end of this season. Throughout this season he had been number 1 and Hearts received an offer for him which they accepted. Kello turned this down and as a result was alienated by the club. /my2cents

Given is undeniably, a great goalkeeper. My concerns are with his age and the fact we could miss a trick with Guzan.

Can't see a topic on this but it's been posted on Sky Sports, Birmingham Mail etc... that he has been offered a trial on the chance that Guzan does not sign a new deal. Now admittedly I don't know anything about this guy, but from what I've just read he was in good form earlier this year but got dropped for 'political issues'. Whilst I like Brad and think he's a good keeper at a good age, this guy might not be such a bad backup to Given. Thoughts? I swear I read an article yesterday saying his agent was in talks with AVFC about a contract extension and that he liked the fact AM was trying to hold on to him. Could have sworn it was even on the official site. Does anyone know what I've read and have a link to it again please?
