  1. Really Southampton are Signing Gaston Ramirez? Sweet F'ing god :o he's the sort of player we should be after!!!!

Ramirez for the best part of £12m, Nathaniel Clyne, potentially Phillips, Jay Rodriguez for £6m - Southampton are spending big and will be looking to finish above us.

Maybe they will but all of those players bar Ramirez are unproven at the top level.

I think our signings are better (might swap Clyne for Lowton as a similar project but really not much in it)

  2. Phillips handed in a transfer request at Blackpool according to Twatter. Need to hoy a bid in now or I can see him going to Southampton.

The player that so many Villa fans are jizzing over is only going to Southampton?

I've never seen him play but the way fans go on about him I thought he was the next Ashley Young?

    only going to Southampton?

Ramirez is on the verge of signing for them...doesn't mean he is a poor player, for what its worth he is a fantastic one...

i'd welcome Phillips, he's got real potential...

cannot see Southampton signing Ramirez and Phillips

Bit disappointed Ramirez doesn't have the self confidence to back himself for a bigger club to come in for him. He is only 21 so has time.

    I wonder what motivates him....

Maybe the £30k NET per week they will pay him or the £780k signing on bonus.

  3. The squad has a lot of unknowns about it.

How will the likes of Bannan, Albrighton, Weimann and Clark do under a progressive manager?

How good are the new signings? Lambert really needs his new signings to produce. The fact he places a big emphasis on character makes me think they should do.

Will the likes of Ireland, N'Zogbia and Bent work in the tactics we want to employ?

Therefore I understand why some people are worried about the squad. However I like the thought of hungry players with something to prove as opposed to the average squad of large earners teams like QPR are putting together. I expect Lambert to have his team fired up. I think we will become a bit of an Everton in time. If that means top 8 finishes for the next few years, then I am fine with that.

  4. Was going through some old photos and found this so thought i'd post it.

Me and another member of this forum on a Villa trip to Wemberleee a couple of years ago....

    Is it Eames?

  5. Sounds like it was off when you got in the car.You should have just chucked it in the nearest bin ?!

If I had known it was there!!! Also I didn't want to make a big issue of it just incase she had not noticed. Which was silly really as it was impossible not to!

In that case you should have acted all pissed off and said something like, "boy, I am never going to buy this after shave again, ever "

    Eau de Poisson.

I also kinda hoped she may have thought it was her lady bits instead of the car.

  6. My worst date was when I was 17. I was driving my girlfriend at the time to the cinema on a warm summer's evening. My mum had been shopping a couple of days before and the cod loin had been left/dropped in the boot.

The car stunk and we had to drive 20 miles there and 20 miles back with all the windows open.

    Didn't get a 2nd date. Thanks mum!!!

why 20 miles where was you going? london?!!

i think your mum did that delibrately sounds a bit fishy to me

When you live in rural suffolk, the choice of cinemas was terrible 13 or so years ago.

  7. Villa boss Paul Lambert today hinted Stoke’s Kenwyne Jones and England hero Jermain Defoe are high on his transfer wish-list.

The pair have both been linked with Villa in recent weeks and Lambert is thought to be keen to add more firepower to his forward line.

And when asked if Jones and Spurs star Defoe were among his targets, Lambert said: “You’re talking about two really good players and two different types of players there

“I think a club this size will be linked with players of that ilk.

“I don’t think you ever stop looking for players and you always keep your eye out.

“Whether they come in or not we will have to wait and see but any manager will tell you they are always on the lookout for players.

“I’ll never stop looking. If anything happens, it will happen. Will there be any new faces? We’ll see.”

Lambert revealed that there have been no offers for defenders Stephen Warnock and Alan Hutton who have both been told they can leave the club.

Lambert said: “No, not at the minute.

“I’ve picked a squad which can go to West Ham tomorrow and do a job. I’ve spoken to Stephen and Alan and they know the situation here. That will remain private but they know the situation with what’s going on.

“If something happens then we’ll see.”

The Villa boss also confirmed that midfielder Brett Holman has recovered from the ankle injury he sustained while on international duty with Australia against Scotland during the week.

He added: “Brett Holman’s fine and I think that he was taken off as a precaution. Gabby Agbonlahor, Marc Albrighton and Richard Dunne are still out. Chris Herd trained yesterday and he is fine but Nathan Delfouneso is a doubt.”

  8. Don't like many on that station although I do enjoy Andy Goldstein's Sports bar. after his awful attempt at presenting soccer am he has found his niche.

    Very funny show.

As an aside his argument with Rob Beasley from the Sun and Sunday Supplement earlier this week was epic!

  9. I'd make her a counter-offer; you won't suppeth directly upon her lactating pleasure-orbs, but you will dab up any post-feed milky remnants with a packet of rich tea digestives.

I originally read the first part as "I'd make her a coffee counter".

    Could work.

Dont know why but that really tickled me!

  10. Savage tipped us for relegation. What a **** word removed. Proving he knows absolutely **** all. No surprise that as soon as McShit leaves the media lay into us. Guess they're not happy that they're little lapdog has been replaced by a real manager.

**** the media. Can't wait to see Lambert prove everyone wrong.

I don't think he genuinely believes it as the clearing in the woods cannot stop smiling when he says it.

  12. so come on guys lets talk about bad dates. anyone have any stories of bad blind dates or online ones?

i once got hooked up by a supposed friend. she is lovely heart of gold. big eyes and evry attractive i was told. i thought ok why not.

come the date now the girl has bigger feet than me! she looked like she could seriously hurt you if she headbutted you. not only that she eats her own meal and asks if i am finished with mine and gobbles all mine up! disaster.

WTF!!! my friend must hate me!

When she said "she had a heart of gold" you should have known.

    School boy error.

  13. Are there any fathers out there that get enjoyment from their other halves breast milk after she has finished feeding? I only ask because the thought of it makes me feel sick and she is adamant that I have to do it for her in order to get anything in return..

BTW, I would DHUTWU but she won't even let me do that until I do her this favour

    What the hell????!!!

I have tasted it with my current GF by accident in the throes of passion then not mentioned it to spare her embarassment. Horrible stuff.

But your Mrs wants you to feed on it???? ewwwwwwww

  14. Tomorrow is A-Level results day.

When I always work a (minimum) 14 hour day, babysitting our clearing (not in the woods) operations.

It's now 4.15 and our live database just went tits up.

    Things can only get better.

And a fine job you lot do there in Bradford at clearing!!!

Still remember my interview with Prof Baimbridge!
