  1. TALKSPORT: Reading from Fulham Website. Mark Hughes has agreed to terminate his contract with effect from the end of June. Something to that effect, leaving his options open. However, it would leave Villa in a quandry as we wouldn't have him in place until the beginning of July??? Only way Hughes can start anywhere else, is if Fulham get compensation??
  2. Sky sports new: Breaking news - MARK HUGHES QUITS FULHAM. Well, it is pretty much nailed on now then. Unless, we still try and pursue Ancelotti as well. Either way, I think a new manager will be in place as soon as next week.
  3. Stop bloody panicing, whoever the manager is deal with it because crying isn't going to change it. Im not crying or panicKing you plank! I just want to check out his twitter. That ok with you.
  4. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT APPOINT THE CLOWN THAT IS MCCLAREN! The guy is a complete and utter joke! I cannot even believe this guy is even being considered. It is laughable. To me that would just spell the end! Randy must know this surely!!?
  5. Honestly, if Randy chooses McClaren, I will lose any respect i have for him. This would be a shocking appointment, and I would definitely consider holding out on my season ticket if he is chosen as the man to take us forward!! THE GUY IS A CLOWN; A JOKE, A WASTE OF SPACE, AND ISN'T FIT TO BE MANAGING A LEAGUE ONE TEAM, LET ALONE A TEAM OF SUCH GREAT TRADITION AND PRIDE AS ASTON VILLA F.C. Sorry for the caps, but i'd showing my frustration at the thought of it. I wouldnt even wish him on the blues and that is saying something. RANDY, DO NOT CHOOSE UMBRELLA MAN...I BEG YOU!!

  7. Wow. He is now 4/11 on with SkyBet now. And interestingly, Martinez is now 2nd favourite at 3/1. Followed by McClaren at 4's and Moyes/Benitez at 5's. I know odds don't mean anything, but its looking more like Hughes.
  8. I figured as much. Just putting it out there.
  9. did anyone post this....I'm sure it is absolute rubbish but from twitter.. BREAKING!! #AVFC have just taken a call from the representatives of.... A Mr Martin Jol!! Straight from the #avfc boardroom!!! A lot of rumours Mark Hughes is No1 choice.. Not what I'm getting from inside VP #AVFC #FFC
  10. Cuellar is watching Nadal-SODERLING. Nothing to do with rafa benitez.
  11. I'm kind of hoping that Ancelotti in on our radar as Mat Kendrick stated should be the case. But, I can't help thinking that Hughes is definitely the man Randy wants after missing out on him last August. I personally don't think it would be a backwards step and he would have my full support obviously. Goes without saying! I just hope if Hughes is the man that is chosen; that is given the full backing.
  12. I love how it highlights Birmingham are relegated. Priceless!! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/default.stm
  13. What a day! The scum are down, and we say bye bye to the prat Ian Holloway!!! And to top it off we get 6 points from the last two games to finish in the top ten! Lovely jubbly!!
  14. Dont know if this link had been mentioned. Reported from the Daily Mail late this evening that Lerner may have to sack Houllier over concerns for his well being. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1389570/Aston-Villa-set-axe-Gerard-Houllier-David-Moyes.html
  15. I think it is pretty safe to say that David Moyes will not be our manager next season, unless he makes a complete U-turn on his last quote "The last thing he needs to hear is someone talking about his job but I'm not interested in it, so that answers it." Stranger things have happened but Moyes seems a man who is very true to his word, and I would be very surprised now if come August he is the man taking our club forward. We shall see. So its Hughes now as the favourite then, with Rafa close behind. But, please, please for the love of god........NOT MCCLAREN!!! I know he won't have any problems adobting the brummie accent because he seems to pick up dialect wherever he is; but come on...do we really want to go dutch with this newly adopted german pronunciation umbrella'd man!!! NO!!
  16. Idk about this Flores fellow he did win the Europa league with Atletico but aside from that I think they have underachieved with him abit. I mean looking at La Liga table, outside of the top 8, the most anybody is clear of relegation is 4 points, and Atletico sits in just 7th with what I think is a pretty talented squad. If I was going for a Spanish/Portuguese manager, it would have to be the Porto boss for sure. Fair comment. I just thought I'd find out what fellow Villa fans would think if the story did turn out to be true. I do think that we need a real fresh approach once this pitiful season draws to a close. Not a season I want to remember, and I am hoping that there are some exciting times to look forward to; starting with pre-season and some re-shaping and over-hauling of our squad in the process. But, for me, we have to keep Downing. That's a given. I think he will be an intrumental part of our re-building and future success from next season onwards. I am kind of resigned to losing Ashley now; but, it would be nice if somehow he was persuaded to stay...But, again; live in hope ONLY!!
  17. I don't know if this has already been mentioned and it is only speculation, but what about Quique Sanchez Flores of Ath Madrid. He has been linked with us, and yes i know it is TalkSport and no doubt utter drivel; but if that was to be brushed aside for a moment....What would your thoughts be if it was true? Could he inject a fresh approach and a new era at Villa Park? It would be an interesting move if the report did have some substance to it. http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/premier-league/7310/4/atletico-madrid-manager-flores-aston-villas-shortlist
  18. Lets just hope that Spurs beat Blackpool. I think Wolves have west brom, sunderland and Blackburn remaining, so clearly we could still be in trouble. DIRE!
  19. Our last point of the season. 42 and safe.
