  1. i know this has nothing to do with this article, but my chairman for the football team i manage has been friends with the agbonlahor’s since he played under him at under 11′s level for great barr has been told by gabby himself, Mark Hughes WILL be villa manager after 30th June, all the reports are bollocks, there hasn’t been an official announcement from villa ruling anyone out of the running for the job, that clause has stopped the immediate appointment of Hughes because even tho he has quit, if we try to appoint him now ‘officially’ we will have to pay compensation for him. i trust this source because he told me years back he knew and managed gabby, i didnt believe him until he got him to do the teams annual football presentation, so who knows…. From some guy of villa views. Its probably rubbish. But as it's been quiet; I thought I'd post it.
  2. Fair play! The guy is a plank! Durham is now basically ridiculing a Villa Fan insisting that he must be joking that Young and Downing would stay at Villa if Ancelotti arrived. clearing in the woods
  3. Because like me he's watching the French Open SF between Rafa Nadal V Andy Murray only unlike me Carlos is probably sipping a cocktail, while I'm finishing off a flipping mortgage suitability report, whilst of course keeping an eye on the cricket not to mention VT! SNAP!! Apart fromthe mortgage report. More a MOT report for me. 380 quid?!!! Ouch.
  4. Time to give this board a break then. Which is good, as I am off to Lords tomorrow. Thing is we'll go away from here a couple of hours and come back to see 10-20 new pages, thinking we've missed something, frantically catch up and see it's all about nothing. I love it! haha. Too true.

  6. I must admit, I think that Martinez does have a bright future ahead of him. Like you say, he seems to have the respect of his players, and his philosophy of playing football the right way can only be commended and that of course would be welcome at Villa Park. Having said all of that; I just feel that at this moment in time, Martinez is a manager still learning his trade and there is still plenty of room for development. As much I feel he is one for the future; right now, we need someone who has been there and done it; not necessarily someone who has won trophys, but someone who has top flight experience, loyalty, and can offer Villa the stability and progression that is required. So for me, the main candidate I would like is David Moyes. But we all know that will be one hard battle to secure his services. So if that turns out to be the case; expect a good few weeks of debate and speculating. THE JOY OF BEING A VILLA FAN.
  7. According to who? Apparently, he was never on our radar 12 months ago. Listen to interview below. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13636404.stm
  8. Interesting dds with Skybet. Next Permanent Aston Villa Manager Mark Hughes 10/11 Carlo Ancelotti 11/8 Steve McClaren 5/1 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO THNX Roberto Martinez 7/1 Rafa Benitez 10/1 Martin Jol 10/1 David Moyes 14/1 Gary McAllister 20/1 Kevin Macdonald 25/1 Louis Van Gaal 25/1 Walter Smith 25/1 Alan Curbishley 25/1 I've just stuck a fiver on Jol at 10's and a fiver on Moyes who is on the drift atm 14/1.
  9. In today's Brum Mail, Hughes' exit from Fulham has hindered, not helped his prospects of #avfc job. Not on shortlist. Regarded as outsider I'm starting to wonder who our targets are now. But, if Mark Hughes prospects haven't been helped by what happened yesterday; then, I really haven't got a clue what is going on and who they have in mind. Speculation, speculation, speculation. I just hope it's sorted as soon as possible. BUT PLEASE; NO MCCLAREN!!!! WALLY WITH A BROLLY!! CLOWN!! CALL HIM WHAT YOU LIKE.
  10. Wtf does that mean? He is a guy on twitter who works for the Express and apparently from what he just said; he has contacts with Villa. Including the players. And works for Acorns also. Seems to believe that the Ancelotti stories have real substance to them.

  13. Villa would have to make a merchandise eyebrow surely for all fans on matchdays!! It would be legendary!!
  14. Why would we target an Express&Star reporter for the managers job? That's it, BOARD OUT! haha. Obviously, he was referring to Ancelotti
  15. Express&Star reporter with contacts in the club says RL has targeted him to keep Ash & Downing + boost ST sales. Talks "ongoing"
  16. Thats not my quote don....it is from astonvillalife on twitter. Seems to be friends with Tim Abraham and works for the same paper. The Express. Seems plausible. Check it out. Heres some quotes all signs point that way. Club need to win the fans over after a lacklustre season. If it fails, at least shows ambition 25 minutes ago Favorite Retweet Reply » astonvillalife Aston Villa Life noises from inside the club. Not literal - I'm not tweeting from an Aston side street. 17. talks ongoing. Carlo Ancelotti top choice of Randy. Astonvillalife on twitter. Lerner targets high profile manager to meet ambition of his wantaway stars #avfc Next Villa manager will surprise non fans if board plan goes to plan Would Carlo put the feel good factor back at Villa? Could we see crowds outside if he is appointed a la MON arrival? Who do you want? #avfc

  19. On a side note....Apparently Spanish media reporting Messi has been punched by a Rosario Central fan in his native Rosario.
  20. I still think that Ancelotti, Moyes, and Hughes are the three main targets that Villa have identified. No source, just a hunch.
  21. This is what I dont get, Sky sprts are saying that sky sources have heard and then they suddenly change that into avfc say that hes not in the running, talk about twisting words.. I think we should be looking at Mat Kendrick because avfc seem to tip him off first, if hes got nothing to say about it, then I wont believe it tbh Totally agree. I have faith in Kendrick. Skysports are so contradicting it is unreal.
  22. Now that is a surprise....I do hope its not McClaren though. The board have some sense surely. Let it be Ancelotti or Moyes.
  23. Of course it is just speculation. Having said that, It was Sky Italia who got everyone's hopes up when they suggested that Ancelotti was due to choose Villa earlier in the day. I guess whatever they say is far from gospel... However, I have faith in Kendrick; he never seems to be wrong...So when he stated earlier that Ancelotti was on the radar and we haven't heard anything from him as of yet; I will still believe that it is still a possibility. But, if Hughes comes, I won't be disgruntled.
