    I said it about a week ago.

    Hiroshi Kiyotake.

    If we were in for a Japanese midfielder it's probably this guy.

    23 years old, good at going forward, plays in the Bundesliga, has a decent assist/goal per game ratio and could be picked up for a few million.

    Always wanted a technical Japanese midfielder at Villa. They're free kick wizards usually.

    Think you will find I brought his name up. :)

    Sorry I must have missed it, large thread ;)

    I mentioned it last week as well, he'd be a cracking signing but probably not even on the radar. He's only finishing his first year in Germany.

    I was informed over 10 days ago by someone I have known connected to Villa for over 25 years that we had made firm enquiries on Kiyotake and an offer has been made. But we will have to wait and see how this develops. Not claiming to be any sort of ITK. Just passing on some info that I was told over 10 days ago. Been on our radar a while apparently.

  3. Great news. Nothing against the guy. Worked hard enough, but simply not good enough. Wish him all the best. The cull begins.

    Now, onto Given, Bent, Ireland, Bannan and Hutton please.

  4. Hoping for this formation (not sure on Bacuna yet but dont think Westwood + Delph/Sylla is strong enough)

                     Guzan

    Lowton   Vlaar   Okore   Luna

          Westwood   Bacuna

    Weimann    Murphy     Gabby

                     Benteke

    Personally think we'll see:

                       Guzan

    Lowton  Vlaar   Okore    Luna

                        Sylla

          Westwood   Delph

                      Murphy

             Weimann    Benteke

    If Bacuna starts, he will not be adopted in that role.  He likes to get forward. I'd see him more in the Murphy role, but I am hoping that we do eventually get Murphy, and then you can look to just add either Delph or Sylla into Bacuna's position.

  5. I think this is how we may begin but with the idea of a competitive squad all the places are up for grabs and throughout the pre-season friendlies we'll see all sorts of combinations and whoever deserves their place will get it.

    And then N'Zogbia/Gardner/Possible new signing/Etc may well fit in to that empty slot on the bench to compete for a place.

    I also think they'll be a fair few, Bowery and Carruthers etc out on loan playing "Man's Football"

    That bench looks a lot healthier doesn't it. Granted, untested players but looks decent to me. Apart from Bennett of course. ;)

    My team for 1st game of season would be:-

    =====================Guzan=================================

    Lowton===========Okore========Vlaar=====================Luna

    =============Westwood======Sylla============================

  6. I can see us signing a very good AM.  Dont think it will be Belhanda.  You never know though, would love either Belhanda or Praet.

    No chance on either. Would love either as well but isn't happening. That Praet link was very flimsy as well made up by some guy on twitter which subsequently appeared on a Belgium transfer rumours site.

    Could this man be #avfc bound. According to a senior source at a reputable media company #avfc pic.twitter.com/2Blx9rePCt

    His name is Dennis Suarez plays for city:

    Attacking Midfielder.

    I know i keep posting stuff from this twatter shite, but its only speculation at the end of the day.

    Stop it. He hasn't got one thing right.

    Chill its a speculation thread. Would it make you feel better if i said:

    Word on the street is we're looking at a player called Dennis Praet.

    I'm perfectly chilled thanks. Just stating the obvious. No more, no less.

  8. The funny thing is accounts like AVFC Transfer Tweet haven't "revealed" any of our transfer targets so far. Not one. He/She have only reported things after foreign newspapers have. I really don't know why they dont just give up.

    It's a feeling of wanting to be loved......

  9. I would love for us to try and sign Scott Parker if he is available. It is all well and good with all these unknown potential gems, but we all want to place high in the table next season and we desperately need some experience and grit, and hopefully from the same player. I am a firm believer of the fact that young players need guidance from the older players or else they will not develop like they could, just think about learning from Parker, Giggs, Scholes, Vieira, Terry, Lampard et al instead of just playing with guys you also played with in the Reserves. If you are good enough, you are old enough - of course - but we put a lot of faith in young players developing into Premier League-material instantly, and we saw how that turned out last season. Mixing signings like Okore with a Parker or two is the right way to go, even though it means we have to fork out a bit of wages here and there. We can obviously afford it with all the outgoing players (on high wages) and the new TV-deal.

    Really? Scott Parker is shocking now.. How anyone can think he would fit into our new philosophy baffles me. Ok, maybe we could do with one or two experience heads, but Scott Parker is on his way out. His legs are not what they were and he just simply put, would not help us moving forwards and would generally slow our play down. Stay away for me.
