Why can't we ever have a reliable LB? Not sold on this guy, or at least expected more.

Come on mate. Let’s give the boy a chance. I actually thought he did quite well today but there is clearly more to come. We are in the best position we have been in for years and it’s time for us to play our part. They deserve our support come what may. Let’s get behind all of them for the entire season. If we do, it could be special

  2. He’s a total baller. He so reminds me of big Stan. I know Collymore didn’t really work out for us due to his poor mental health but there’s no doubting the ability he had. Really feel that Wes has a similar level of ability and also a similar game. Very exciting indeed.

He doesn't bloody score! Ever. What use is a forward who can't score, and who rarely assists.

He might be worthwhile in the dying minutes of games to hold the ball up and see the match out, but we can't afford to be playing a striker who has no hopes of scoring goals.

If we want to stay up, we shouldn't have a striker as poor as Keinan Davis regularly playing. Best for everyone if he goes out on loan and gets the chance to try to add more to his game, IMO. He's nowhere near good enough for the Premier League at this point.

He helps us to sustain attacks and play much higher up the pitch. This not only leads to chances created but also takes the pressure off the defence. We were so much better today when he was on the pitch.

I agree that we need a striker to score goals but he is young and his game will develop in time. Wesley is Nr 1 because he already has goals to his game as well as good all round play but Davis is next in line. If Kodja or Hogan play, the ball just comes straight back. We have much more chance of thriving in the PL if he plays rather than the other two.

In my opinion your post is fairly aggressive and somewhat ignorant. Have you played football at a reasonable level? Your opinion is very binary and life is rarely like that.

I mean I wasn't saying he was a carbon copy of Mertesacker, separated at birth by an unethical experiment on identical twins. It was just a passing resemblance. Watch them and there's a very similar approach to defending. Mertesacker has over 100 caps for Germany, so it's not a criticism...

I thought the same thing when watching him against Walsall. Looks like a really good player to me. Admittedly bigger tests await.

I can remember watching stuff like that as a kid. My Dad would look at me in a superior, knowing fashion. “Bear’s not real son” he would say..........Bless my Dad!😂

I said that to my wife and ended up with a black eye.

My wife spends months dropping cryptic hints about the gifts that she wants for her birthday which generally results in a stressful shopping trip for me basically buying anything she has made a vague reference to over the preceding 12 months! Praise God I don’t miss anything which will lead to radio silence for days on end!

We make it easy for them. No shopping required. No need to solve any cryptic clues. Yet, why is it that we always end up wearing a shit jumper and feeling somewhat disappointed!

    I want this done.

    It's my Birthday.

    I demand satisfaction!

Happy Birthday. I can’t guarantee satisfaction but I’ll pop round later to give it a good try 👍🤣

  8. I really like the look of this signing. He makes significant contributions in both boxes. He is really comfortable on the ball and he is a tall boy. I reckon he and The Mingster start with 2 excellent options in The Hause and Konsa. Best centre back options we have had for years. Very exciting indeed.

    So an expensive Andre Green?

He seems to have a much better developed football brain than Andre. His touch and vision are pretty good. He is very direct. If Andre can develop over time then it may become a fair comparison but he has a way to go.

Another one who's comfortable with the ball.....is there a pattern emerging at long last.?

I know. When are we gonna sign someone who’s biggest asset is knowing how to put wor boots on!

  11. I still think and hope that this will happen. As I have previously stated, he wants the premier league and Stoke probably want him off the wage bill. How many PL teams are in for a new GK? Answer........not many. How many of those have their training ground close to the city of Lichfield where he lives........? Waiting game in play!

Defensive situation is looking very dire. 5 weeks until Spurs and the we need 2 cb's and a defensive midfielder to go straight into the first 11.

I am not sure it is quite “very dire”, although it is concerning. So long as Hause, Chester and  Connor are fit, then we are ok.

On a Sunday? Jesus will be spinning in his grave (Christ not Suso)

You need to brush up on your theology. The grave could not hold him. It’s kinda what it’s all about 😂

  14. It will all happen. Stoke want to sell Butland and he wants to sign for us. Same with Tyrone and Bournemouth.

The Webster one is trickier because it appears that Bristol want to keep him and the Philips one is even more tricky because Leeds want to keep him and it looks like he wants to stay.

The club will have suitable alternative solutions if required. Hopefully the days of the little black book are gone for good!

If that’s the team and Smith can get them busting a gut each week then there would be a hell of a lot of energy in the team.

I think it would be scrap to the finish to stay up though.

I think Smith will get them to gel fairly quickly and they will definitely work hard for each other. I trust the management to make the right decisions.

The number of injuries will maybe dictate how well we do. There is a real drop in quality beyond those listed. Hopefully we can pick up some cheap project players plus a couple of loans to pad us out a bit (I know Purslow said no loans but needs must).

Either way it’s an exciting pre season and hopefully an exciting season awaits. Good times !
