choffer Posted May 1, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted May 1, 2013 So I'm a complete novice in this area so bear with me if this is a completely moronic question. I've got one of these: http://www.dv247.com/pa-systems-and-live-sound/red-fire-audio-pp150-portable-pa-system--97769 And I want to connect my MacBook or a laptop to it so I can output music, etc from it. Is it simply a cable connection (and if so, what sort of cable) or is there a middle-man required? Been searching the interwebs for half an hour and still none the wiser. Ghost
A 3.5mm cable should do the trick. One end into the headphone jack of the Macbook. The other end into the 3.5mm (auxiliary) jack of the amp. That should get you stereo sound through the PA system. Not sure if there's a way to get better quality sound though?
choffer Posted May 2, 2013 Author VT Supporter Share Posted May 2, 2013 Doubt sound quality will be much of an issue tbh. Thanks for the info though. Was hoping it'd be nice and simple
b23avfc
That's it. I do 3.5 out the headphone socket into a stereo l/r set of jacks an into a channel on my mixer.
