Kidd, naturally a midfielder, has been utilised at right-back to great success in the Hoops' Youth Champions League campaign.

Despite not making a first-team appearance, his performances in the competition has prompted Celtic's attempts to prevent him leaving when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Premier League sides Villa and Sunderland are keen to secure Kidd ahead of Ajax, who are also interested in bringing the youngster to the Netherlands.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon wants to keep the 18-year-old at Parkhead after seeing a key players Gary Hooper and Victor Wanyama leave in the summer.

With a number of clubs looking to advance their pursuit of Kidd, Lennon is set to offer him a bumper deal to remain at the club.

Kidd has already been capped at under-19 level by the Scottish national side.
