  1. Ship of Theseus init. Does an object remain the same thing once you've replaced all it's parts? It's a very old debate.

Hallowed ground. Not sure if it was deliberate, but after the Watkins goal the commentator said when you’re smiling the Holte End smiles with you.

If it was that is some excellent delving into songs of the past to use in a commentary position.

Didn't he also mention the bells were ringing for the claret and blue as well? Pretty sure it was deliberate.

  2. I learnt of the origin of that little dweebs name some years ago - can't remember exactly where, could have been an FFU video? So Ket Shee sounds kind of normal to me now, and on my latest playthroughs of 7 I've made a conscious effort to read it as such.

I can understand SE keeping Kate Sith though, there is precedent for it in AC where they call him Kate, I believe.

Looking forward to a future tweet which confirms Cid still commits domestic violence.

  3. Our own challenge at the moment is that my 2 year old daughter can now climb out of the crib. It was nice while it lasted. We've got one of those cribs where you take off one side so it's like a little bed, so for safety's sake, that's what we've done.

Last night was her first night in there, and she likes it - her big girl bed - but the temptation to get out and just **** shit up is too strong. I ended up lying in her bed with her for 2 hours last night before she eventually went to sleep.

From the archives…I think you’ll find that VT’s very own @hogso is on hand to prove this assertion wrong.

I will refrain from making any sort of excuse about my performance in the above...and instead simply mention how I ended up being able to kick a ball on the pitch.

Yes it was indeed via villa reward points. It was the last home game of the season, and finding I hadn't used any points all season, I thought, why not. It was the play off semi v Boro btw.

I thought maybe I got picked as there were fewer people who had points left to use, and therefore less competition for the spots. It was also an additional home game at the end of the season of course.

They whipped me away from my seat as soon as the half time whistle went, down the lift from the upper holte, and on to the pitch. As it happens a guy I work with and who has done various jobs at VP over the years - tour guide, flag waver, Hercules suit wearer, compere - was down there that night and told me specifically to aim somewhat right. I ignored that completely and went wayyy too left.

  5. Beard Meats Food spotted in Nuneaton this week...at the Hearty on Arbury Road of all places! It was technically my local some years ago, technically because why would I go in there, but they certainly didn't do food challenges then.

Weirdly though, there was a short period of when the Oak, just down the road, did do decent grub.

  6. I won't post in detail everything that came out from the TGS presentation, but holy christ. Rebirth is shaping up to the the best FF game ever.

The one thing I will mention is that it has a card game. OK two things, Mog House is now a full blown location with it's own mini game.

“Access to player arrival” (Chelsea’s dugout package)

What does that mean exactly? You can stand in the corridor and watch as 20+ blokes walk past you wearing headphones as they head into the changing room?

I don't actually know the answer for Chelsea, but Man City's equivalent ticket (around £1.5k for a match) includes the 3 course meal, post match cheese board, fancy seat, pre match pitch side spot to watch the warm up, etc. - and then they have a huge glass wall along side the tunnel, indoors and downstairs from the hospitality spot, where you can stand and watch the players come and go before the match, at half time, and at full time too. Before the match though, they kind of just get to stand in a little area after the players get off the coach and kind of...clap...as they all walk past.

  8. A bunch a previews are now out there for Rebirth, where people have been invited to play two demos - the Nibelheim flash back sequence featuring Sephiroth, and the large 'hub' area around Junon. It's been emphasised a lot with this latter demo that the scale of the area is dealt with really well, as is traversal which is generally done via Chocobo, of which there is heavy emphasis on (customisation, treasure hunting, fast travelling options, etc). If you go out of your way to look at some of these previews, the difference between the 'open world' on display around Junon and say that in FFXV is stark. In a very good way!

  9. As is typical of when a new trailer comes out there's some new info via developer interview on the PS blog.

In it, Nomura confirms that Rebirth ends at the Forgotten Capital/City, ie. when Aerith does or perhaps does not leave the party.

However...they also say that although the majority of places from the original game will be here, and the player will visit them, the order may not be the same.

So, it's possible then that the story will take you to the north crater and we'll see all of those events, plus more, with Aerith in the party.

It's also unclear who exactly is playable in Rebirth. There's reference to some characters not being playable, so it's possible the likes or Vincent and Cid will be like Red XIII in Remake, or it could be a reference to Zack.

Because there’s always going to be demand for masculine dog breeds wether it be Staffy or Mastiff etc etc .

This is the crux of the issue as far as I'm concerned. Ban the Bully-XL breed? Yes.

What happens once it is banned? Breeders fill the gap with a similar breed but one that is not identifiable as a Bully-XL which is probably as potentially dangerous - or worse, even more so.

  11. They've released some good trailers since the FF7R project was first announced, and this one is a doozy. Cait Sith, Vincent, new summons, Cosmo Canyon, Junon, Gold Saucer, some intriguing story related stuff...

I am AMD, 5700 xt. I've read that because of the deal they made with AMD they've not added a lot of NVIDIA card features.. yuck

I think waiting a month or two would be best for a game like this and there will be loads of mods available.

Oh man, waiting may well be for the best then.

Despite the decidedly mixed reception to this, the more I see of it, the more I actually thing I'd enjoy it.
