  1. Where is this decent player everyone talks about. Just about the worst passer of a football I've ever seen. So often a promising attack breaks down as soon as Cuellar gets involved, it's just so frustrating i can't believe nobody seems to care! As a professional footballer, passing a football accurately over short distances should be a basic quality, Carlos fails spectacularly. Villa can do far better.
  2. Good deal for both club and player, i'm staggered by some of the abuse Downing is getting for wanting to leave, he was far and away our best player last year, he did well in wearing the shirt and we've got a handsome profit from his effort. I wished we got that from more players, instead we make hero's out of players who fail, and leave for a fraction of what we paid, or on free transfers. Weird.
  3. Why are we not picking up David James? Easily as fit (and as good as Freidel is!) and available for a song.
  4. "each and every one of us would"?!? I think you'll find I was not one of them.. and will not be one of them. The point is, about 6 months ago, Coyle was being touted as an ideal although unrealistic target for us. The general feeling towards potentially appointing him has gone from 80% in favour of, to the exact opposite. Genuinly dont understand people being negative about one of the best young managers in the British game. He is not good enough to take us to the next level. He has found his level that he works well in no dount Mediocre football at mediocre teams with little ambition. What Lerner needs to do is go large and get van Gaal to transform the club from top 8 to top 4. MON is a much better manager than Coyle and he couldnt do it, you need that extra bit of class like Alex Ferguson, van Gaal, Mourinho, Hitzfeld etc all have. If we are all happy with Villa having a decent cup run and just missing out on Europe then fine go for Coyle. I am not content with that to be honest are you ??? He's succeeded everywhere he's been. His teams do not play mediocre football, if you think that you've clearly never watched them, both Burnley and Bolton play very attractive football. Coyle also seems to improve all different abilities of players whenever he coaches them, a quality MoN had too. KHV, the managers you quote we need are ridiculous choices considering the limited spending budget we need to put into place to reduce the debt.
  5. Please god not Benitez. Just look at the mess he left at Liverpool despite the money he spent. Just awful. Coyle please, lets give the job to someone with a successful track record and a good eye in the transfer market. Hasn't failed anywhere, and his sides play passing football.
  6. Money coming for Benitez. Please god Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! For gods sake Villa, look at his signings record at Liverpool, utterly inept. Don't don't appoint this dud.
  7. Yeah, he did a rotten job at Burnley guiding them up for the first time in 30 years, and saving Bolton from the mauling that Megson created. Got Bolton back up the league and a cup semi final. No Plan B?, i presume you can't let go of the that one game v Stoke. Fair enough, i don't expect everyone to get it. Hughes has done nothing whatsoever, a rotten & wasteful record in the transfer market, and took over a good side at Fulham. Our debt is large enough, we need to appoint someone who's got an eye for a player, and on a budget.
  8. Would love us to get Coyle. Successful everywhere he goes, teams play lovely football and his career is on the up and up. Think he'd be a brilliant appointment, and realistic.
