  1. No he was wrong, should've cost you £5.

Getting a bit confused by this- I think I read online that the current villa shirts are £10 for season ticket holders or people with tickets for the last few games. At the Liverpool game I went to the Holte Shop to get the shirt, the guy also said I have a fiver on my season card. I thought great a shirt for a fiver but then he said the shirt was at £20!  I left it at that. So am I wrong on this one?

  2. Solid mostly but makes the odd mistake defending, top notch at attacking and crossing though. Still better than Hutton and with age / experience coming he'll be a very good signing for years to come.

  3. I'm not saying Lambert is blameless, some tactics have been very questionable. But as always its a combination of players and manager that have made us drop points.

What I am saying is however, I don't think any good would come from sacking Lambert straight away if we did go down. At least give him a few months and see where we are in the table.

  4.

A relegated manager should never keep his job. Let alone one who could take down a team who hasnt been relegated in nearly 30 years. Especially when we havent had a crisis like Leeds or Portsmouth.

Thank god there's other sane people out there.

If relegated he should be sacked instantly.

Well yeah worked for Blackburn didn't it.

    Oh right.

    Keep Lambert then.

I mean if it didn't work out for a club run as well as blackburn rovers then what chance would we have.

Bigger problem is we're not run much better. Which is exactly why we're in this mess. Can't fault Lambert for a problem that he walked into, that had been in the making for 3 years.

Fletcher and Cattermole ruled out for the season. Bad news for Sunderland, good news for us.

They're pretty much a carbon copy of us at the end of last season. On a dreadful run of form and have lost two of their best players for the rest of the season. Unlike us last season however they stand a real real chance of going down.

eh? do you think we didnt have a real chance of going down last season then?

There was always a chance I just don't think it was ever that likely. That's not to say we didn't come close, just that we always had a cushion due to the way the season panned out.

I thought it was likely we were going down when we went 3-2 down to chelsea after fighting back from 2-0 down. After the bolton match I was certain we were going down. Wba saves us last season with that last minute equiliser at bolton.

Along with AW's last minute winner against Fulham. Otherwise, we would've been totally down.

  7. Well I said in the MON thread but I'll repeat it here.... Sunderland losing Fletcher could be a blessing in disguise for them. Will force them to play 4-5-1 which will make them a lot more solid, could also kick start Grahams Sunderland career if he's the focal point of the team.

I'm not getting too excited about Sunderland's relegation chances just yet.

Had similar thoughts myself. Although it is hard to look and their highest scoring goalscorer getting injured as a positive.

If Danny Graham is in a goal drought though, you can be sure that run will end at Villa Park!

  8. I only watched the first half, but noticed quite a difference in how Villa and Belgium use him. Wheras most of our play goes through him or ends up with him, basically all the attacking talent of Belgium seemed intent on ignoring him for their own chance to score from whatever silly angle.

Belgium's downfall will be having too many individual billy big bollocks'.

This ^ Too similar to the Netherlands for any real success.

  9. Could McManaman receive a retrospective ban? Not ideal as I would've preffered a 10-man Wigan to play NUFC for rest of the game but it would be something...

  10. Not concerned about the bookings, as he's normally having to track back and make up for other's mistakes. Just want to see him get more goals. He's got a good shot on him but haven't seen it for a while, and with our lack of midfield goals it would help us out alot.

  11. Other teams seem to keep some of their best players (even if they go down) and if we stay up, I don't think its a full gone conclusion that he will leave. Every transfer window seems to have a certain "BENT IS 100% LEAVING!" and it's been like that for years. So taking all this with a pinch of salt.

  12. Can anyone remember the last time we had back to back wins in the Premier League? I'm struggling to remember the last time it happened. This is something we need to do to build some confidence in the team, but we have been unable to achieve for what seems like years. It wouldn't suprise me if we had to go back as far as Houllier and McAllister's last few games for back to back wins, which is terrible.

We definately need to win those two games in March against QPR and Reading if we're to have a chance of staying up.

Think it was Arsenal and Liverpool back in 10-11.

  13. With everyone fit, I know that is a big if, we have the 14th best squad/team in the division. If they can come back soon we may survive.

Who are we waiting to get fit ? - I thought we were more or less at full strentgh ?

Dunne, Herd, Albrighton are out for a while. Can't see Dunne kicking a ball for us again (and he was never any good for corners either!)

  14. We're already down in my head.

4 wins and 3 draws would get us to 36 points with 6 games remaining.

Can anyone seeing us picking up 4 wins? Or to put it another way, can anyone see us only losing 6 games? I certainly can't. Plus we lost to the teams around us making it even harder to escape from this position, I doubt 36 points would be enough to stay up.

If we do stay up, it'll be a minor miracle that THREE other teams were shittier than us. I think there's a real danger we could even end up bottom.
