  1. He is supposed to be Kozak's replacement, so better him than nobody, as long as paying his wages doesn't prevent us from signing other players. I'd much rather have him come on yesterday instead of Weimann, for instance.

What i don't get about Lambert is that he wants a big tall striker up front but doesn't play with any wingers to provide crosses for them.

  2. I feel like this season he isn't offering much neither when attacking nor when defending. His passing is accurate but hardly ever elaborate. The defensive aspect of his game is where he really lets me down. He plays in a position in which he HAS to help the defence out. He is also disadvantaged on a physical level. He is not strong, he is not tall and he is not pacey.

In other words, the simplicity of his passing (with a few exceptions) is something you would excpect from a holding midfielder, and his defensive inability is something that can only be justified (if at all) if you have great skills on the ball.

That said, the total lack of movement and tactics doesn't help him.

  3.

Weimann on instead of the man that just scored, nice. Great way to give him a confidence boost.

Have a word, he would have been the complete wrong type of player to bring on a that point.

As opposed to Weimann, who is always the wrong type of player to bring on...

  4. Lambert made good subs, we played much better second half against arsenal and you could see the confidence coming back.

    Good subs?

He was wrong not playing Bacuna in the first place, and Weimann did FAll when he came on, all I remember from him is a usual poor first touch on a throw win which lost us posession.

He didn't even make a third sub, when we had options (Either throw Helenius up front or put Albrighton to provide crosses for Benetke).

With Lambert I always feel like he hasn't done enough with the subs. Hardly ever uses all of them, even when we are losing.

  5. The novelty of the funny name and beard have worn off and what's left is an average footballer. Want to see him do well but I can't see him being first choice left back next season.

You are being far to kind by calling him average.

  6.

The only positive aspect of his game are his runs into the box, he cen get in the right position to score a goal (I think he is our only midfielder who has scored from inside the box this season).

Otherwise he is pretty useless. Not quick, not strong, not creative, not good at winning the ball back. The same can also be said for Westwood, even if he is better than KEA: The problem is the same, they do not ecxel in any aspect of their game.

I like how he didn't win the ball back against Southampton and didn't cross for Kozak to score. 8th in the league for tackles per game. What a useless bastard.

I didn't see the Soto game, I just saw the cross which was good. Credit to him for winning the ball back as well.

I just looked up the stats, fair enough, he's a better tackler than I thought.

the real problem is that your eyes are not connected to your brain :D

An ad hominem without any argument to back it up.

    How very mature.

  8. In a way I feel sorry for PL. Things have gone against him and it will take a hell of alot to put it right. I think the biggest problem was loosing Okore. we are so slow at the back that we have to defend deep and as a team cutting off the attack. With Okore being quick and able to mop up we could defend further up the pitch bringing the midfield into play and supporting the front men. It is no coincidence we play better and have better results with Ron in the side as he pushes them up and organises them better. Confidence is shot and energy levels low as forwards are alienated and double marked. the midfield run round like headless chickens, passes are pretty much played behind the player instead of in front, the defence is full of players so nobody knows who is picking who up leaving people free. players are pulled out of position easily leaving acres of space for the opposition.

God knows how or even if PL can put it right but one thing for certain is we need new players to swing the fortunes.

Shouldn't Lambert be then held responsible for building his tactics around ONE player (who still has to prove he is good enough for the PL, as encouraging as he looks).

If this is the case, then Lambert is a fool.

The only excuse I can give Lambert is that players which were doing well last season have not lived up to the expectations (Lowton, Westwood, Sylla, Benteke, Weimann). It is also true, however, that other players have improved on last season (Clark, Vlaar, Delph, Albrighton) so that's only a half-excuse.

  10. I think he could be a pretty good winger. He has a pretty good cross, pace, can take set pieces (why is Westwood still taking the corners, btw?) and can also help out in defence.

I think he can also become a pretty good RB. He is just low on confidence. He has made some mistakes, but he has never played in that position before, what do you expect?
