  1. How far is walk to ground from nearest tube station ?

It's about 15 minutes from Putney Bridge tube. A very pleasant walk through Bishops Park besides the Thames.

Thanks. Hope there arent any tube strikes again

  2. I thought the lad did great when he came on yesterday. Always looking for the ball, didnt shirk anything and had that lovely curler

The jump with Zigic summed him up nicely. He knew he'd look silly but he didnt shirk it.

  3. Hello General

As i'm sure you are aware, season ticket holders get a 10% discount off purchases from the Villa store, which is a nice touch and much appreciated.

    BUT

You can't get this discount when shopping via the online store. There is no place to enter your client reference number to get the discount online for some reason. I've lost track of the times i've added items to my basket, and then had to call instead to activate the discount.

Surely it can't be that hard to make it available online too ?

    Thanks

  4. HT VIEW FROM THE ARMCHAIR COURTESY OF FOX SOCCER PLUS

    That was **** dire.

I thought we started reasonably well but lost all shape, style very quickly. Downing started well but faded badly, lovely move for the shot off the post though.

Ashley hasnt started at all. He's completely out of the game. Might contemplate switching him and Ireland.

Talking of Ireland, he's been crap so far

Petrov did nothing before he went off. Coker's running around a lot but that wasnt a penalty in my book. He took the easy option because he didnt want the responsibility of making the shot

Heskey is doing what he can but he's got NO support at all.

The less said about Dunne's first half showing the better. He's looked awful to me, incluidng the comical goal

Collins has already resorted to hoofing again

Warnocks been turned inside out several times but is at least putting in a shift, as is Beye

  5. Ireland got MOTM in the Express & Star match report

Not sure about all this 'when Gabby comes back' talk. Because for me Heskey will be the number 1 striker when fit due to his intelligence and hold up play. Things Gerard obviously admires. Gabby will have to make do with cameos I reckon. Which might help when he sits and watches games, his education will increase ten fold

  6. Thought we played some decent stuff myself. Downing and Reo Coker looked good. We've got to start taking our chances though

As for Carew, that was about as woeful a performance as i've ever seen from a Villa forward. Totally and utterly **** abysmal

His touch was useless, his pace has gone, and his awareness was that of a pub player

  7. anyone who wnet to the game, alan smith said the atmsophere was terrific at teh custard bowl can anyone tell me was it?

didnt sound so from my tv

all i heard was shit on teh villa drowned out by its your round!

I was there and I didnt think atmos was anything special. Quite quiet really. From both sets of supporters

The biggest noise I heard was from my mate when the bloke in front (Row C) with the worst case of dandruff i've ever seen knocked his back sending bits all over my mate

  8. I managed to sort out three tickets for the game this morning! I am so excited! I have family visiting from Malta and wanted them to experience a Villa match. What better than away game in a midlands derby? Unfortunately though we will be dispersed in the away stand. I was wondering whether we should be wary of trouble outside the ground? Don't manage to make much away games so not sure what to expect. We are travelling from Leicester which is not far. Will there be a police escort or something? Also, any good places for us to have a beer before the game in Wolverhampton? Thanks in advance

My advice, don't wear any colours. If you want a beer try out of the city centre. Maybe Willenhall or Bilston

I live around and know a ton of Doghead fans, and by and large they're all right. But for some unknown reason they still have a percentage of backward supporters who really do still think its the 70's. They're even proud of it.

Its a bit like the bloke on the rundown council estate who's proud of his new chip pan.

They'll never change, and normal evolution has passed them by.

Best leave them to their own.

  9. watched quite a few this last week or so

Kick Ass - enjoyed far more than I thought I would

Four Lions - enjoyed far less than I expected to

    Paranormal Activity - not great

    Unthinkable - average

  10. He looks good , hopefully he can actually get some game time, would much prefer him playing behind the striker to A.Young.

    Based on what?

    Very strange

Probably based on that age old philosophy that it makes sense to play players in the position that they have played all of their career. I know that this could seem strange after MON's reign!

Since when did Bannan become a 'in the hole' player?. He's always played wide when I've seen him

  11. FFS !!! I'm sick of all this shite!! Too many people here are believing what is being written in the daily rags and totally disre

garding what was actually said in the press conference.

    You sir are a DISGRACE.

Fancy coming on here and talking common **** sense. What kind of supporter are you?

I don't want to hear from fans who actually listen to whats being said, I want to hear from people who take their Gospel from the tabloids thank you very much.

I bet you're one of these old school fans who go down VP week in week out and support the team good or bad.

    SHAMEFUL!
