i may be alone in this, but I keep on trying to justify this deal and I just can’t do it. I don’t doubt he’ll score goals for us in the short term, but I can’t help but think we were fine with wesley as back up to watkins who has earned that starting role up front. the money could have been invested better in other positions and on someone with more resale value.

unless we play 4-4-2 which I highly doubt will happen, the result seems to be a square peg in a round hole somewhere. should’ve signed someone to play in jack’s position who can also provide cover up front in case of injury.

I love the player, but that still doesn’t make it a logical signing.

put it this way…would you catch leicester signing a 29 year old for 30 million with one year left on his deal who has suffered niggling injuries throughout his career?

i stand by this. i never understood this signing.

This trade only really benefits the team losing Barkley (because he's a glass bum). Extremely high risk giving up all that for any RB, but especially one with Barkley's injury record.

If it was a team out of contention giving all that up, I'd be against it since it would clearly benefit a playoff team. Since it's the 2nd place team losing the bulk of their players, it changes the dynamic a bit.

I can see why people might be split on it though. Frankly, it's good to see trades taking place! It doesn't often happen and we have two on the go currently.

If it gets downvoted, it is what is. It’s not worth causing drama over. Agreed about the trades. It’s hard to let go of your players sometimes but I have no shot at winning without getting a good RB I don’t think, so I did what I had to in order to get one. Even if it was perhaps a bit over the odds.

  3. Let me set my stall out for those who are no doubt about to press the downvote button. I knew no-one in playoff contention (like 90% if the league) was gonna accept a trade for a good RB considering how tight it is and the position I’m in. It would make no sense.

Originally I was just gonna offer Kittle and Evans, but knowing I’ve got Miles Sanders coming back who’ll get the bulk of Eagles carries I chucked in Hunt to get it over the line. I still have Jamarr Chase and Kadarius Toney at receiver, and I can stream TEs in Kittle’s absence.

Like @Brumerican says, there was no shady business, which to me is the only reason to vote down a trade. It works for both of us.

Not a favour. But if there was no relationship he might scrape a shortlist, rather than seemingly being the shortlist.

I’m not that keen but I think that’s harsh. An invincible season at Rangers is a great achievement alongside their European run…

  5. i saw this coming a mile off and this is why i didn't really get our signings. they don't all fit into one single system. out best formation is 4-3-3/4-5-1. it's all too disjointed at the moment.

commit back to the 4-3-3 and build from there. the best teams have one system and stick with it for the most part. we've played three or four already this season.
