Has there ever been a fringe player who has had as much speculation about his future as this 18 year old.
I thought he looked very good against Chelsk, not too bad against Ure, but the rest of the games hes ok.
I would like him to stay, but if he turns out to be half the player of Ramsey , i would be surprised.
he's 18 and made his debut at 17! (and hit the post!) how good do you expect him to be?
if ramsey turned out to be half the player of luiz based on last season alone i would've been shocked. he's now arguably a more impactful player for us.

i don't see any harm in starting him from now til the end of the season. we've been all but safe for ages and mcginn and luiz have been inconsistent. luiz won't sign a new deal either, but he plays the majority of games. he's giving bailey a strong look when there's been rumours that he wants out as well. there's a lot that might be gained and little to lose, and even if he doesn't sign, so what? it was worth a shot. it's not like tim or anyone else is gonna be worse off for not playing the next five games.

he's just far too slow and careless on the ball. buendia is better in basically every aspect.

Think the GMen are winning the draft so far with Thibodeaux and Neal. Over the moon with that.

Not whenever I have seen him, I haven't seen it in the data on him either.
Just checked, it’s a relatively recent thing they’ve been doing with him so won’t have had much of an impact on his numbers.

Teun Koopmeiners - (Atalanta) I wanted him last summer before he went to Italy and banged on about him none stop, he is a true 6, can play at centre back, is a captain, has a great long pass in him, takes pens/free kicks and even chips in with the goals, he has 20 goal involvements last year which is insane as a DCM.I think he’s been playing behind the strikers hasn’t he? Sure I read that somewhere.
-
trying to shoehorn him into being a number 10 certainly isn't gonna get a tune out of him. he's direct winger or inside forward, use him as such.

The fact that he's clearly overweight.
where?

play him at the tip of a diamond or don't play him at all.

playing for a draw at the end when we were looking quite dangerous. why?

Salah don't score goals every game either, shocking .
i'm not having a go. he was our best player in the first half yesterday. i'm just pointing out that he isn't beyond criticism.

The bloke took out like 4 - 5 players in one move at one point yesterday ffs. Ridiculous.
Criminal to have certain certain levels of football ( lack of ) intelligence around him.
Imagine doing something like that, then watching a team mate literally pass the ball to an opposition player, unforced
coutinho himself can be sloppy in possession. he put a simple pass out to digne out of play just yesterday. he does it more often than you'd like.

needs to be in the first team squad every week next season.
-
infinitely better in the middle behind two strikers.
-
he won't be sticking around under gerrard, i'm pretty sure.

Personally, I don’t think there’s that much difference between him and Buendia right now. I can’t say I’ve been absolutely blown away by him. He’s been a fine addition and scored a few nice goals, and that performance against Southampton was incredible. But he looks like a passenger a lot of the time and is prone to lapses in concentration in possession.
It’s still not a huge sample size though, and I think £33m is good value in the current market. I just don’t think we need to be in a massive hurry to sign him up without seeing how he does for the rest of the season first.

No words. The key was appalling.
maybe outstanding was overselling it a bit, but i thought he did an excellent job breaking up play. compared to what else was on show today he was our best player by far.

can't believe what i'm reading in here. thought he was outstanding today and the best player on the pitch.

Bossing it at Spurs. Like we all predicted.

£60m for Kalvin Phillips would be absolutely ridiculous. I can't even say I've been that blown away by him when I've seen him play to be honest. He's a good player but no-where near worth paying that much for.

.. and he'll be 30 by the time we'll be putting up 40m and astronomical wages. It's a valid debate.
not every single signing needs to be with the long term in mind. if he helps us achieve a europa league place in the next couple of seasons or so it'll be worth it. not to mention the ambition it shows other potential signings.

At this point my only concern is his age. When will he run out of steam? 6 months? 12? 18? The bloke is **** magic.

the thing that ruins it for me is that his name is pronounced two different ways in the space of two lines
