  1. I coach my son's Under 8's (Beginners) team...

I get very excited on Mondays as I plan their training for Wednesday nights. Then I'm even more excited on Friday nights because they've trained really well, and I can't wait to see them put it into action on the Saturday...

Then they forget and/or ignore everything they've learned and we get our arses handed to us by a team we should be at least competitive with, so I get angry, scream and shout, and generally have the hump for the rest of the weekend.

  2. My first ever contribution; apologies if it "bin dunne", and apologies if it's crap...

Bruce, a big boxing fan, yet camp as a row of tents, walks into a tattoo parlour, and asks the artist for a picture of Mike Tyson to be tattooed to his left buttock. Several hours later Bruce checks his new cheek in the mirror. Suitably impressed, he then asks for Evander Holyfield’s likeness on his right buttock. A few more hours later, and proudly sporting his new ink, he arrives home to his “life partner” Cyril. Bruce disrobes, to show off his new additions, and to his surprise, Cyril bursts into tears. Confused, Bruce tries to console his boyfriend, but Cyril is distraught. Finally, regaining some composure, Cyril declares their relationship over. Bruce asks what the problem is. To which Cyril replies, “You’ve got Mike Tyson on your left cheek.”, “Yeah” says Bruce. “And you’ve got Evander Holyfield on your right cheek”, adds Cyril. “Yeah”, says Bruce. Cyril says “Well there’s no way I’m getting in the ring between those two!”

  3. Agar is not a test spinner, probably never will be.

It's quite sad to watch this Australian side in all honesty.

As a "Pommie Bastard" growing up in Australia through the 80's and 90's, and watching the Australians dominate England for years (not to mention the saturated media coverage and unbridled joy of said domination), I can tell you watching the shambles that Australian cricket has become is a thing of beauty... Strangely, the TV sports bulletins aren't leading with cricket reports like they used to... And long may it continue...

  4.

I'd love to see the World cup in Australia one day, far too sensible idea though giving it to an emerging football country when Qatar is available....

I wouldnt. Id like to actually watch the games at reasonable hours

Like we have to when it's in Europe... ;)

  5. And Jesus lined up His 4 defenders in the box, for a corner was to be taken. And Jesus said unto His 4 defenders "one of you will betray me". The 4 defenders did protest, for they loved Him. But Jesus was looking into the eyes of St. Bennett, for Jesus knew it was he who would betray Him. But His look was one of love and one of forgiveness. And Jesus said unto St. Bennett "fear not, my child. We go again".

    You, Sir, are all class...

  6. Back in the 70's we used to holiday in Weymouth quite often... My dad took me to a few of their matches, and having discovered they shared the same colours as Villa, I decided they would be my "second" team...

Wouldn't have a clue what they're up to these days though... Hello wikipedia...

  7.

I think an 89th minute sub appearance would be fantastic...

Problem is we still have a lot to play for. If he comes on on 89 minutes and we concede a stoppage time equalizer it's going to look a rather stupid idea.

And could score the winner, making it a rather ingenious idea...

  8. Kit Kats in the UK taste different to Australia... Apparently something to do with the preservatives in the chocolate because of the climate... I would assume it's the same for most/all chocolate products, but I can tell you KitKats are sustantially different...

  9. I think most of our current first-teamers have a lot of potential (or at least did), but the situation they have been thrown into - for a myriad reasons - has simply been too much for them... Being on the fringe for another few seasons, with sporadic appearances in "winnable" games, or substitutions while in an unassailable position, would have done them the world of good, and enhance their prospects of success. There simply isn't enough quality of experience, if I can use that term, to help bring them along in a more suitable manner...

If things don't change, some of these players careers will be ruined, if they're not already...

I remember the days of Gary Shaw coming into the side, or Mark Walters even, and these guys were tipped for success, but they did it surrounded by experienced, quality players...

I'm 42, and just can't believe what I'm seeing from our grand old club...

  10. Much better display, overall, I thought... Certainly more solid with Westwood in the middle, thought the defending was much more competent - than previous games anyway.

Delph had a blinder compared to his recent form, and I think the personel who finished that game should start the next - with the exception of Bannan/Westwood...

Can legislate for being robbed though...

Still plenty of points to play for, and were not cut adrift yet...

  11. I rarely post on here lately, but this time I can't help but say that that has to be one of the most abject Villa performances in memory...

Bent didn't even need to head that attempt - it could have rolled off his chest and into the net. Instead he puts it over from less than 6 yards...

Bannan and Delph clearly can't play alongside each other, if at all... Ditto for Clark and Baker... WTF is Clark doing with the captain's armband anyway?

Benteke should never go near our own penalty area again...

Someone should call Warnock and tell him he has his job back... He may not be quality, but he would certainly add some grit to that "defence" - And so we can rip that shirt off Bennett and kick his arse out of our club... (BTW, at what he's getting paid, I'd have no problem with paying fans having a crack at him from the sidelines)...

Can't agree with any criticism of Wiemann, I thought he was the only player out there actually putting himself about, and getting stuck in...

If we don't win the second leg I won't be getting out of bed at 2am Sunday mornings again this season just to watch that embarassment...

    Absolutely woeful...
