You are right about David Jason, you get the impression that he really enjoyed himself. I think he did other characters as well, such as the weasels...
He did Chief Weasel and Billy Rabbit.
I've got the box set, too.
Very nice, Chief, very nice...

No nation ever became stronger by breaking itself asunder. I’ve never subscribed to this tub thumping, flag waving nationalism.Be it Scotland , England or Wales. I have always regarded myself as British, except when it comes to football of course
This for me, too. And as much European as British.
Balkanisation is not the way forward.

Wind in the Willows narrated by David Jason
<pedant>
No narration on TWITW. David Jason voiced Mr Toad (his finest role, imho).

It's an exceptionally good series so certainly worth keeping an eye out for introductory offers on Disney+ and binging it.
I signed up to Disney+ on a cheapo introductory offer, watched Shogun, and then cancelled. £3.99 well spent.

Actually one slight criticism of Ripley, would be Scott's performance (which of course may have been under instruction from the director) - his demeanour varied from bland to shifty to downright reptilian. Whereas you would expect a successful con artist to be able to disarm people by being a lot more charming and persuasive.

We have one generic group called old clearings in the woods for sharing jokes , boobies and stuff but I like to be organised so every specific event gets its own thread , so if arranging a gig , add the people we think might be interested , then remove the ones that say no , delete group few days after gig has ended so you don’t end up with 608 of them.
We had a VT meetup one for the Wembley playoff final.

20 week scan yesterday - it's a boy!
If Villa win tonight, I'm insisting on the name being the last Villa goal scorer
Although, you guys probably don't know my surname is Kent. My actual first choice, therefore, is obviously Clark.
Nielsen Kent.

TalkTV goes off air today. Onto the new heights of YouTube, where the live channel currently has 450 viewers…Redundant staff are gathering at a local watering hole tonight to “say goodbye to the home of common sense” and “cry because it happened“. “Dress code: Grieving, but still f*ckable”…
A sceptical TalkTV insider: “These people have burned a s**t tonne of money and humiliated themselves. How on earth can they hold a party.” Sometimes it’s the only way. -

Yeah, there were some ridiculous scenes.
His utterly unconvincing 'disguise', and the fact that he made no attempt to try and change his (very distinctive) way of speaking. Then again, maybe the Italian plod really were that dim.
But it was all about the cinematography for me. Fantastic homage to Hitchcock and Fellini (plus that one 'blink and you'll miss it' nod to Spielberg).

My version of this has had a few names down the years but the current, longest serving name is "The Snowflakes Group" in my honour for picking them up on various un PC jokes and comments. I've nearly left it a few times.
We keep warning one of the members of "The Lads", that he's skating on thin ice with some of the stuff he posts from his workplace. Doesn't bother us at all, but his employers would be aghast.

If you like Shogun, try Marco Polo on netflix.
Gave up on that after a couple of episodes.
Then again, I didn't think Shogun was THAT good. I enjoyed it, a solid 8/10, but 'best thing on TV atm'? Nah. Mrs M even said she preferred the Chamberlain version. (I wouldn't go that far).
Ripley, on the other hand - masterpiece.

Same thing goes for standup comedy - with a VERY few exceptions, I just have no interest.
I think I like humour, but I'm somehow not really into 'comedy'.

Our family one is called 'ACME'. It's the initials of me, the missus and our two daughters. SFW.
The one for the group of friends with whom we have regular holidays is called 'Seven Go Mad on Sanatogen'. SFW.
The beer and football mates one is called (with crushing unoriginality) 'The Lads'. Definitely NSFW.
Of course, W is not an issue anymore.

People who send screenshots of the photo in their photo album… why screenshot it when it’s already in your photo album?!?!? Just send me the original image!!!
Not sure what circumstances you're referring to, but I usually do it with photos for VT, because the original is too big for the site. I used to compress and/or crop them, but I found that an easier quick-and-dirty way is to use a screenshot, as it's lower resolution.

As a forgotten one-off, Mel Smith's "Colin's Sandwich" was criminally underrated.
This thread is paradoxically easy for me, as sitcoms are a genre that I have very little interest in, so the ones I genuinely like are in (low) single figures.
Of the programmes listed in this thread so far, the vast majority are ones I've either never watched, am totally indifferent to, or actively dislike.

I remembered another one - The Likely Lads (and, better still, Whatever Happened to...). Men Behaving Badly was a poor shadow.

Now of course, I AM an old man, and I'll wear a hat if necessary for weather protection - a panama/fedora style if it's a VERY hot and sunny day, and a warm beanie style if it gets really cold. But it's never for image reasons. And certainly no baseball hats.
I have bought a baseball hat.
Totally useless information/trivia

is a prime number...it is also a palindrome.
It's called 'Belphegor's prime.'
'Belphegor' refers to one of the Seven Princes of Hell (due to the '666' in the middle & the 13 zeroes on either side).
