It's all been said of course, but I'm at my lowest ebb with Villa since *that* disgraceful season. We were on the very cusp of excellence with absolutely everything in place including the manager and captain as Villa fans! What glory it could have been. Now? JWP, Todd Cantwell, some midfielder they've barely heard of in the league he plies his trade.... who cares anymore.
You are joking of course!! You can't be serious.I can't think a single Villa fan would agree with any of that!!

It's a strange one. I don't know why it was so rushed on that day. Its not as though Southampton weren't aware we were likely to sell Grealish for £100m that day! It couldn't have been about price? Maybe it was done so we get another signing in to appease the fans ahead of announcing the Jack sale later that day? Maybe Ings was a target all along but we fast-tracked it that day for the positive news effect. Who knows!
Nail on head me thinks

Further to my post above, the conclusion to that is that I think we will sign another attacking player. A left sided one, who can play in the centre if needed.
I like the look of the Correa link. Cantwell is another who plays that role, but isn't value at £40m, no way.
Correa will go to Inter

But to me it seems quite clear - That's it's all just a little bit of history repeating.
(To the tune of Shirley Bassey)Back in September 1979 our Talisman Andy Gray left us for a British record fee of £1.49 Million to join our rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers. They overspent and ended up in deep financial trouble and were relegated to the second division. Almost ruined!
Using that money, we rebuilt and replaced him with Peter With and co. We won the league 80/81 and the European cup 81/82.
Move forward 42 years
Our Talisman Jack Grealish leaves August 2021leaves us for a British record fee of £100 Million to join up with Manchester City. After buying Kane as well they are finding themselves having overspent.
They are in financial trouble and get relegated through mismanagement.
Villa however invest this record fee in several top quality new team members and are again playing the best football seen at Villa Park for years. The following season we win the premiership and the following league we win the UEFA Champions league!
They do say things go around in cycles! UTV
Might be wrong but I'm not totally convinced Man City will get relegated. The rest is pretty obvious though!! UTV

I've done a bit of digging and it seems Didier Six joined us on 1 October 1984, but his final cap for France was on 23 June 1984, therefore he wasn't capped whilst being at Villa. These are the best sources I've found on it.

Great research Thank you, I wasn't sure

Bit of a shame we lost Grealish really. It would have been nice to have Jack and Danny in the team!
We did the season before last and that nearly ended badly

Because we lost a world class player. As things stand, I don’t think we’re better than a team with Grealish in it.
Losing Jack was obviously not something any Villa fan would have wanted. However we must remember that absolutely every attack went through him. The day he got injured we suddenly lost
almost all of our creative intent. We stopped scoring goals. I f we have the intention of Europe then that simply can't be the way forward. We have now signed players to remedy that and give us a more
balanced team. If Jack could have been a part of it great but he didn't want to be. I think we are stronger now even without Jack. Let the season begin UTV

Conor looked really good when he came on. Knocked the ball around quickly and our attack looked better for it Carney was excellent

He never mentioned the M69 in his tweet and anyway he would see VP on his way past so that would be that

I’ve watched him quite a few times and I just don’t think he has that something special you need to see in younger players for them to make it at this level. Don’t get me wrong I’m sure he’ll still have a great career and I’m no football scout but I just can’t see it happening at the level we wish to be at. Hopefully Im wrong.
I think Ben Christen looks the better player. Is he a full back?
Midfielder I thought

Don’t think Kessler will make it tbh
Interesting! Why do you think that? I must say I think he is an outstanding prospect. He was tremendous against Liverpool

The perfect end to the transfer window IMO:
IN: Tuanzebe, JWP or Bissouma, Kamada and a random second/third choice GK.
OUT: Hourihane (sell), AEG (sell), Guilbert (sell), Ramsey brothers (loan), Brad Young (loan), Wesley (loan)
Can't sell Guilbert. Just sent Kessler out on loan so no alternative back up to Cashy

I've just collected something from Sutton Coldfield via Facebook Marketplace and went along the small roads. Passed Bodymoor Heath and there was quite a lot of activity going on, looked like youth team players were being minibussed somewhere aswell. Hopefully we hear something before close of play today regarding another signing!
Not sure if it is relevant to what you saw but the first team were being coached back from London today

Really good interview with Kaveh Solekol on Sky Sports just now showing Villa in a great light. He talked of Jack leaving with a heavy heart and that he has mixed emotions today and then of Villas ambition to be a Champions league side soon. He says they have great people at the club with ambitious owners and that in 12 months we could be looking back on Jacks departure as the spark that ignited our jump to the very top
Do you know what? He just might be right UTV

Why do people think Grealish is going to get a statue outside the ground if stays with, unless he does something remarkable like captain us to a League title or European Cup win then it isn't going to happen. It's quite demeaning to the club to suggest that players should get a statue just for being a good and for not leaving.
With our owners anything is possible given time

Weird that the club would accept a bid without the player indicating he wants the move.
Unless it matches the release clause!!
