    If his name was jonny smith and he came from Carlisle I doubt that there would be half as much excitement on here......at a guess

    Thing is though, and I recognise the insanity of this following statement but, you could make Heskey look like a good player with selective clips on YouTube......I'm not opposed to the signing, I know nothing about him to appose but aside from it being an addition (which is always welcome) I just find the excitement levels a little odd/out of place? Maybe I'm just being a miserable sod!

    As a Villa fan it's your birthright and duty to be a miserable sod.

    Just under half the field pitch in 6 seconds? Has also been tipped as the fastest footballer in the Polish league.

    I absolutely love that goal, not just that he runs so fast with ball under control but that instead of keeping on running and slotting the ball home he just thunder bastards it from outside the box.

    Great, I've just got used to calling him Atomic Tonev, now I want to call him Thunder Bastard!

    The headline is complete bollocks, I'm guessing none of you actually listened to the whole radio interview broadcast live. But it really didn't come across the way they're making out. I feel Lambert should not give talksport any more time, I know Ferguson wouldn't.

    We're trying to sign said player. So people are posting any sort of rumour they see or hear.

    Quotes from their owner saying we made a bid and he can talk to us + quotes from Belhanda saying he would sign for a club with a big history + quotes from Belhanda saying Villa is a great club with a big history and he knows we have made a bid

    Hardly just any sort of rumour is it?

     

     

    No but the way he reacted was as if aliens have just arrived to take the throne from the lizard rulign class as the nwo prepare to depopulate the earth or some shit like that.

    I wish people would stop going on about getting the circular crest back. We changed our crest five years ago, the club aren't going to change it again so soon.

    And anyway I don't want us constantly changing our logo. It's bad business. We should be trying to build a brand. Changing the badge cheapens the image of the club. United have had the same badge since 1970. Madrid's crest has been the same since the 40s. Barcelona have theirs since 1910. I guarantee you that at numerous stages during the past fifty years various bright sparks have marched into head office at each of these clubs with a plan to change the crest to something more current or something cooler, but they were put out on their arse because it's a stupid idea. We're one of the biggest clubs in England. We should have an identifiable, fixed logo.

     

    Maybe in an ideal world we would have kept our badge from the 80s but the simple fact is that we didn't.

    There's nothing wrong with the current badge.

     

    You're wrong, they've changed their badge several times.
